From a bit of a left field, first. One of the reasons, I don't have much trouble with 'Daybreak' (though I do have a list of storytelling shortcomings for this episode, unambiguos straightforwardness, for one, of my own), like many seem, is precisely because where it left Lee Adam's character and any allegations of L/K (if such were still even an issue, given all of season 4's worth as a coherent narrative). Among other things, Lee's journey had been about letting go. Letting go of an obsessive delusion of a nonce-romance and accepting the interaction with Kara for what it was (friendship and...

One of the reasons I believe the 'Eye of Jupiter'/'Rapture', s3, (the end of 'Rapture', in particular) to be among the most crucial points for Lee's character and Lee/Dee dynamics development, is precisely because the outcome of that story, as far as Lee is concerned, was about wake-up calls and the beginning of his journey to let go long-standing self-delusions. So here goes:

Delusion #1: Lee's an unworthy bastard, craving contempt and eager to abandon honor, integrity and dignity in pursuit of the one 'true heart's desire'. It turns out being just that pains and torments Lee a lot more, than...

A/N: A little weirdo drabble.

As ever, the subtle transition of Lee Adama's and Dee's mutual appeal into a relationship compels me. It would appear, Lee started having flashbacks of Gianne (pregnant Caprica girlfriend) no sooner, than his attraction to Dee acquired palpable form. Incidentally, that was when his urge to run the other way stirred too. Oh well...

Set sometime in between 'Flight of the Phoenix' and the 'Pegasus' arc, season two.

A/N: There's a loop of 45 minutes between Lee's good-byes with a smiling and playful Dee and the heart-wrenching morgue scene (Sometimes A Great Notion).
Somewhere within that timeframe Lee must've contemplated the idea of personal hope and happiness, alongside that of humanity's, for the very last time.

A/N: The last thing Lee needed as of 'Resurrection ship' arc, was to be falling in love… Still fascinated with elaborating a plausible narrative transition from Lee Adama's and Dee's 'break-up' in 'Black Market' (season 2) and into them eventually working toward a relationship in 'Sacrifice' and on. Besides, Lee Adama lurking in the gym by the end of 'Black Market' just got me wondering.

Set on the outer rim of 'Scar', though not focused on the episode per se.

A/N: Just as Admiral Adama and Laura Roslin discussed Lee's mindset and modus operandi in politics at the end of 'Escape Velocity' (ep. 4.04), Lee Adama might have gotten a chance to ponder social and personal ramifications of his recent clash with the President over freedom of assembly with a special someone lending a frienly ear. Set on the outside margin of 'Escape Velocity', soon after Lee left Baltar's sermon.

A/N: This is a 'what if' take on the scenario of Dee learning about Lee's stint with Kara on Groundbreaking night before their (Lee and Dualla's) wedding. Set somewhere at the beginning of the missing year on New Caprica. An AU of sorts, but hopefully, doesn't contradict all that dramatically the events, transpired in show canon. Echoes loosely the situation in ep. 3.13 'Taking a Break from All Your Worries.'*

A/N: Lee Adama's mixed, or *allegedly* mixed motivations for getting married to Dee had been haunting his ability to indulge in family happiness for quite a while.

This is a take on Lee reassessing and, possibly, reconsidering his reasons to go ahead with the nuptials. Set on the eve of Lee and Dee's wedding, sometime after the Groundbreaking.

A/N: A pet BSG 'what if', as far as I'm concerned (go figure!): what if Lee Adama managed to make it in time to stop Dee from taking her own life? Could the experience factor as an angst source still, in keeping with the mood framework of the show?

Set through 'Sometimes a Great Notion' (season 4). AU, for an obvious reason, yet adhering to the episode overall outline.

A/N: It has occurred to me, upon some close consideration of the BSG narrative structure, that a certain recurrent pattern is clearly identifiable in Lee Adama's character evolution. Which pattern is, incidentally, quite demonstrative, to my mind, of the intricacy of his relationship with Anastacia Dualla throughout the series.

What follows below is an attempt to pin-point and explore this particular pattern a bit within the framework of "Black Market", "Taking a Break From All Your Worries", "The Son Also Rises"/"Crossroads" and "Sometimes A Great Notion" episodes.

A/N: Lee Adama had, apparently, developed a notable drinking problem sometime after the events, transpired on the Algae Planet (season 3). This drabble is intended to suggest a groundwork for that, mingling an AUish dimension with 'actual' show narrative, to an extent. Set through the end of 'Rapture' and sometime before 'Taking a Break from All Your Worries'.

A/N: The show had, apparently, woefully understated the tentatively stirring attraction between Lee Adama and Dee through the early premises of season two (before the 'prison-break' and after the successful completion of the tomb-raiding mission).

So this is a take on Lee's state mind and heart as of return from Kobol. Set after 'Home, part II', season 2.

A/N: This drabble sort of 'wrote' itself, while I was pondering a different story altogether. It seemed plausible Romo Lampkin would have a personal say in the matter of Earth 1.0 and the tragedy of Dee's suicide, that followed immediately afterwards, or how it could affect the one person Romo deemed humanity's ultimate 'beacon of hope' just recently – Lee Adama.

Set through 'Sometimes a Great Notion' (spawns from Lee and Dee's date at Joe's bar), season 4. Mentions of events in 'The Son Also Rises', season 3 and 'Caprica' pilot. Jake-the-dog gets to feature, as well.

A/N1: Lee Adama ended up instructing self-defense classes (instrumental to landing him within loads of UST with Dee), upon the return from Kobol – an activity not quite inherent to his duties, or even leisure, as CAG. This is a take on the plausible scenario of that happening.

A/N: There're apparent (and frustrating) narrative gaps in between Lee Adama pushing Dee away, in so many words, in 'Black Market' and them on a date in 'Sacrifice'; or Lee and Dee hardly seen on-screen together for most of season 4.0 (though, if you look reeeeeeally close, it's Dee seated by Lee's side at the memorial service in 'Escape Velocity') and them quite comfortable and in sync together in 'Revelations', let alone 'Sometimes a Great Notion'.

Lee Adama's mixed, or *allegedly* mixed motivations for getting married to Dee had been haunting his ability to indulge in family happiness for quite a while (up until he actually managed to frak things up into nearly loosing the one truly good thing that'd ever happened to him - Dee).

Incidentally, I don't happen to believe the sole reason driving Lee into marriage was woe and/or spite over losing his 'one twuuuu wuuuuv', Starbuck, that is, and going after a consolation prize (which still seems to be a popular opinion in the fandom). That would've been too soap-opera cheesy and inconsistent...

A/N: This is a bit unexpected, but the 'it all has happened before, it all will happen again' mantra has always been instrumental to unwinding the BSG mythos, after all. Hence, it could only make sense certain haunting issues would transcend the eidetic memory of Colonials long after any mention of Galactica's odyssey was lost in history of Earth 2.0.

Lee Adama, for one, may finally get to rediscover certain peace over the tormenting 'why' of Dee's demise way back over a different Earth.
