"Come on, Bolt. It's time for the dog park," Penny shouted from her room. Bolt heard her call and crawled out of bed. He looked to his right and saw a happy Mittens walk by. "Goin' to the dog park?" Mittens asked stopping by. "Yeah," Bolt replied. "You certainly seem happy. For having an injured paw." Mittens stared down at her bandaged paw and flattened her ears with embarrassment. "Those son of a gun cats deserved a fight. One of them slashed me several times." Bolt raised an eyebrow. "Ouch. Sorry I brought it up." "Ah it's fine, man." Mittens said. "I'm happy for two reasons. One, my paw's healing fast for having a few stiches. Two, Penny left some eggs in our food. You better eat up." Bolt grinned and gave a soft laugh. "I will. Rest that paw." Mittens headed straight for her plush purple bed. Bolt silently walked over to his bowl and ate happily. He finished just as Penny walked out with his leash. "Come, buddy," Penny commanded. "There you are." she said clipping the leash. Bolt and Penny walked out of the house, and headed for the dog park. They were here finally. The duo walked to a sign that read "Country Dog Park." Penny and Bolt entered the park. Bolt was looking all over the place as if he was expecting a friend to be there. He was in heaven. Dogs everywhere! "Go on, Bolt," Penny said pushing his rump lightly. She unclipped the leash, then hung out with her friends from school. Some of them had dogs and also came here. When Bolt nervously but happily trotted in, a flash of white made him blink. Bolt's vision was blurred for a second. Through it he saw the white thing standing right in front of him. She had walked back over. Bolt's vision cleared up, and his mouth dropped. His eyebrows were up and shocked. And boy was he speechless. "Bolt!" exclaimed the beautiful dog. She smiled huge. "Is it really you?" The she-dog walked forward, her tail wagging, her ears back with affection. "Violet!" Bolt said leaping at Violet. He tackled her, laughing happily. Violet giggled and said, "It's so good to see you, Bolty." "It sure is, Vi." Bolt responded licking Violet's head. A brown dog nearby saw the two whites playing and talking. He grunted and growled. Then he ran over. "Violet, babe, is this dog bugging you?" he asked. His voice was deep and tough. Violet whipped her head around as fast as lightning and glared at the brown dog. He walked to her side and said, "Talk to me, hon, is he bugging you?" "No he's not!" Violet snapped. "I'm his girlfriend not yours. How many freakin' times do I have to tell you, Henry?" "You're mine, darling," Henry said nearing his head closer to Violet's. Violet bared her teeth and snapped at Henry's nose. Bolt and Violet walked away to have some private time.
