If you decide to place a spell on yourself, that's up to you. Technically, that's still more noble than placing a spell/curse on someone else just because you aren't getting what you want from them.
For all the nasty things my parents both have said or done to me, no, I'd still never do that, not having any clue what it would to do them (or me for that matter).
