9.Sleeping Beauty: True love conquers all.
Coming in last place is Sleeping Beauty's moral, "True Love Conquers All". While many of us agree this would be a wonderful moral, it doesn't apply to real life. In real life, true love rarely conquers anything. Certainly in real life it wouldn't conquer something to the equivalent of Maleficent. While it's a wonderful moral that everyone wishes were true, sadly it isn't, which is understandably why it gained last place in our countdown.

"True love can't didn't conquere Hitler, 9/11, or the Vietnam War. Actually, the more I think about it, doesn't love usually act as the beginning of a problem." (queenbee13)

8.Cinderella: Be kind & have faith and you will be rewarded.
While many of us agree this is wonderful moral to live by, and certainly doesn't hurt to follow, many of us also agree that it just isn't true. There are many kind, wonderful people who go through hardships, and many spoiled, terrible people who get what they want all the time. Unfortunately, in the real world, it isn't always so. This moral was also condoned for being sort of passive, in that it's not a very proactive moral to live by.

"This one has the impression of handing over responsibility for your happiness to a third party "Oh, I'll just sit here being nice, and joy will come when karma gets off it's ass and hands it to me'. Your happiness is your own responsibility to work for and find, you can't outsource a job like that." (Asvini)

3. Snow White & the Seven Dwarves: Always make the best out of a bad situation.
All in all, this is a great moral to live by. It helps keep people from diving into depression and makes them see the bright side of bad situations. It's like "every cloud has a silver lining." There's always a good side after every storm. However, it doesn't always help to sugar coat things. Sometimes it can be detrimental to be realistic about a situation instead of immediately being optomistic about it.

6.The Little Mermaid: Never give up going after your dreams, even in the face of hardship.
It's always good to go after your dreams and never give up. Nothing should stop you from going after what you really want, even if the going gets tough. While this moral is good at face value, a lot of people didn't like the way Ariel represented it in The Little Mermaid. Perhaps Tiana represents it better- she went after her dreams without leaving her family or making bad decisions. So while no one seemed to dislike the moral itself, they didn't seem to like the way it was represented by Ariel.

5. Pocahontas: The only way to have peace is to accept others.
Pocahontas has a lot of morals. "Don't judge a book by its cover." "Hatred only breed violence." But the main moral it stressed was that only by having peace, could Pocahontas and John be together. While this moral applies in the movie rather well, it's not altogether applicable in real life. Just by accepting someone doesn't mean that you can have peace with them. There are more steps to it than that.

"I dunno...I don't think accepting others is the ONLY way to have peace...if I accept terrorists like Osama and just go along with what he does that isn't going to give us peace...it will just makes things worse IMO. I do however think that to have peace you have to meet in the middle." (DreamyGal)

4.Mulan:Anyone can be a hero.
I think this is a great moral, and in my personal opinion, the best. Really, if you think about it, anyone CAN be a hero, whether young, old, small, large, short, tall, any race, any gender. Even a baby can be a hero by teaching someone a lesson about caring for young ones. But then again, in that instance, hero is too broad a term. A baby
can never swing in and save someone's life, but it can teach a lesson in a subtle way. However, is someone a hero just because they teach a lesson? In a small amount yes, but I think the moral is just too broad and vague.

3.Beauty and the Beast:Beauty is found within.
This is really a great moral, and very applicable to real life. Beauty truly is found only within. Of course, you can have beauty on the surface, but inner beauty is what's most important when it comes to real life. You can never have a real relationship or really care about someone who has no inner beauty. However, people said while this moral is good, it's not as important or meaningful as the other ones left.

"There are more important issues than where beauty comes from. Sure, it's important but not as important as achieving peace, not losing sight of what matters in life, and being true to yourself." (dweeb)

2.Aladdin:Be yourself
This is another moral I really like. It's been stressed all of our lives to be ourselves, and I think this is a great moral. It's always important to be yourself, because that's the only way to let your true talents shine through. Even in Mulan, a totally different disney movie, Mulan sings a whole song about how no one respects her for who she truly is. You can never be truly happy unless you are yourself. However, some users pointed out that people can be evil to the bone, and therefore, you wouldn't want them to be themselves.

1.The Princess and the Frog: Never lose sight of what's really important.
This moral is applicable to almost all the other morals on this list. And it's more important than the others to. If you lose sight of what's important, a lot of the points of the other morals are moot.

Persephone713 Yeah, I disagree with the top two as well. I get so sick and tired of hearing " Just be yourself" I can almost see why Aladdin tried to be someone he wasnt. For me Beauty is found within should be the Top moral because today, everything is shallow and superficial.

SunBurst A pretty good list overall. But, personally, I'd switch Aladdin and Mulan's places.

dweeb I think it's funny how you can find a bad moral in all of them by using your imagination. Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs: invite creepy strangers in to your house and eat their sketchy food, you'll be rewarded Cinderella: sit around and hope a fairy comes to save you from an abusive life, and marry the first hot rich guy you see Sleeping Beauty: if you're a useless hottie, things will work out, only ugly people have sad endings The Little Mermaid: if you see a hottie who lives far away from you, ditch your family, friends, your voice and your entire life for a three day shot at seducing him or you'll be a drag queen's prisoner Beauty and the Beast: if a guy locks up your dad for no reason, forces you to be his prisoner, threatens to starve you, yells at you and scares the shit out of you and throws things to intimidate you, stick around and he might turn nice Aladdin: lying and manipulating will get you the girl and then just save her and your lies will have never even happened Pocahontas: even racists can change theyre mind if they meet a super hot foreign chick Mulan: A girl dressing up like a boy to do something is noble, but when three guys dress like girls to help win a war, it's a total joke and the cool male lead won't do it The Princess and the Frog: You're not complete unless you have romance in your life and no accomplishment matters if you're alone

dancing_dear Cool list but I don't think the moral of Mulan is "anyone can be a hero". Its more like "The flower the blooms in adversity is the most beautiful of them all". Mulan feels like she is out of place, doesn't fit in and "Will never bring her family honor" so she joins the army to save her fathers life and ends up saving China. So I guess the moral would be more like The unexpected underdog can be the most valuable person. "A single grain of rice can tip the scale"

TigerRanma "The Princess and the Frog: You're not complete unless you have romance in your life and no accomplishment matters if you're alone" This is my problem. This is actually exactly how I think each day. I think "Never lose sight of what's really important" is too vague for me. What is really important? To yourself or society? My friend was just telling me, "A lot of criminals do bad things for money to support their families. They're doing the wrong thing but technically they're keeping in mind "whats really important", which to them is getting the money for their family." But either way, good article.

Mermaid-Tail ^^ I think the idea of what's really important is living a life that's full, happy and ethical. It can't be just whatever you decide is most important, because the point of the movie was Tiana learning her priorities were wrong, so for her to be wrong there must be (in the movie's logic) a specific goal that is right, not just whatever vague idea you settle on. Like those criminals you mentioned, they don't have to commit crime for their families, they could support them by getting a job like everyone else does. Choosing to harm or inconvenience others by committing crime instead of providing in an ethical way shows they have lost sight of what's important. That's just how I take it though Good article, even if the order isn't exactly what I'd have gone with :)

DisneyDusty I think some people interpreted Cinderella's moral wrong. People pointed out that bad things happen to good people all the time. Yes. Like how Cinderella herself was good but recieved bad things for a long time! But then, finally, something very good happened to her. Also, when you are kind and good, and others see it (like friends or a godmother), they often will try to return it or reward you. And if people see bad things are happening to you, they often try to help you. It can also stretch to mean if you are good and kind you will be rewarded...on Earth or eventually...in Heaven. Also, Cinderella did not sit on her ass being nice, she worked to be nice to people, she cared about people (and animals) and she got cared for back. I can also see being kind and good as working towards your goal to get what you want. Usually being kind and good involves doing things which lead to something you get.

Mermaid-Tail ^ I don't think people misinterpreted Cinderella's moral, people were just having to look at the bad points of each to decide which to vote out, it's not that people didn't see the good in hers, just that the other side of hers is that she spent so much time focusing on other people's happiness it got completely in the way of her being proactive about her own, and led to her being a doormat, and you can be nice without being walked all over like she was. I think Cinderella has a very sweet moral, but agree with it's place on the list :)

juniper427 I think Pocahontas should have been first. People seen to take the moral the wrong way. The only way to have peace is to accept others, however they need to accept you as well. DreamyGal pointed out that she can't accept terrorist, but if the terrorist followed this moral and accepted other peoples differences they wouldn't be terrorists. Pocahontas moral is something akin to "there can not be peace, while there is hate"

faya27 I'm not too crazy about "Be Yourself" moral. It doesn't work well for people who have too many faults (like me) or who are evil to the bone. Sometimes, it's better to pretend to be someone else so, you can have more friends.

wavesurf Hmm. I staunchly disagree with number 1, basically because the manner in which the characters go about finding "what is really important in life" is too vague. What is really important? Tiana's dream of the restaurant? True love? Family? "What is really important in life is TOTALLY arbitrary, and is highly subjective. No one person can say "family is the most important" to someone whose "family" actually abused them. No one can say, the most important thing in life is marriage, to someone who is uninterested ( and who keeps meeting real-life guys who are jerks just like Naveen and Kristoff ). With males like them, why would you want any romance of ANY KIND? These men only LOVE THEMSELVES! If you're female, you'll get treated like trash! And somehow, the "follow your dreams" aspect is tied to getting married for the sake of getting married. Eh? The "falling for each other" thing is not even well-developed in TPATF. It's just stuck on there like extra pizza topping. Also, being yourself is AWFUL if you are constantly the target for bullies at work, at school, in social interactions, etc. Part of me can see why Aladdin hesitated to show who he genuinely was. Shunning is a very powerful weapon in the social world. So...maybe these top two morals are not very good. I do find B and the Beast's moral quite timeless because when you are sixty years old, you can appreciate character instead of flash-in-the-pan physical shallowness. Cinderella's moral about "having patience" really pays off. I fail to see why that one ranks low. I also don't see why "never giving up on your dreams in the face of hardship," or "the flower that blooms in adversity is the most beautiful one of all" is an inferior moral to "never losing sight of what is really important." "Never losing sight of what is really important" IS NOT a moral. It's a blanket statement that ANYBODY can use to justify what is "important to them." But that's my opinion.

UnholyNoise ^ "Never lose sight of what's really important" is definitely a moral! It's stated a little vaguely here but PATF makes the lesson pretty explicit: you shouldn't get so caught up in your ambitions that you neglect the rest of your life, as Tiana did. She was close to getting her restaurant, sure, but at the cost of having zero friends, no serious relationships with anybody except for her mom, working herself into an early grave, etc etc. Her ordeal makes her realize that those things matter to her, too, just as much as her ambitions. And that getting her restaurant isn't worth much if she really doesn't have anybody to share it with.

I'm new here and I wanted to share my opinion which dp that I think is the best and how well they perform in there movie. And I am not just going to count the canon ones in this list. you might see Magara, Sofia and etc. Because I feel like they should be canon. You get the point right. good!

Anyone growing up in the 2000's (such as myself) who was a big fan of Disney Princess has probably heard the song "If You Can Dream". Why do people think Elsa is a selfish when she isn't?

Many fans in this club says Elsa is selfish? Seriously? She is not selfish!

I'll give you valid reasons

1.) She shuts Anna out just to protect her

2.) She left her kingdom in order to protect her sister and everyone else

3.) She doesn't wanted to hurt anybody, but she has no other choice

4.) She created Marshmallow to sent Anna away from her, because she accidently hit her

5.) She did not mean to harm Anna, she just can't control her powers

6.) Elsa said this "No, Anna. I belong here, alone. WHERE I CAN BE WHO I AM, WITHOUT HURTING ANYBODY"

7.) She felt terrible when Hans told her that Anna is dead....

Elsa vs. Maleficent

OK, I said in a previous article that Elsa may be one of the most powerful characters in Disney history and arguably as powerful as Maleficent. Well that got me thinking: What would happen if these two met in a fight?

Well quite honestly, I think this would be one of the most epic battles in the history of Disney. On one side, you've got Elsa, the Snow Queen; master of cryomancy and snow. And in the other corner, you have Maleficent, the Mistress of All Evil, dark fairy. It's hard to say just who would get the upper can in a battle like this.
