Hi everyone! I found this Mary Sue test someone was doing for Percy Jackson characters and really liked it. I decided it'd be fun to put Disney princesses through it, since a lot of them are accused of being Sues (though I modified the test a little, adding and removing some traits). This test is great because it isn't unnecessarily long-winded and you don't need to be the creator of the character to put them through it (though some of the traits do get repetitive). I had to remove some like "Naturally beautiful" and "Great singing voice" since that's pretty much a given for all the princesses.

I decided to start with Rapunzel, since she's one of the most accused princesses. I'll rank each of the traits and give her a score at the end. Enjoy!

Unique traits without contacts or hair dye- No. Blonde hair and green eyes are common and while her hair is unnaturally long, the flower works to explain it (especially since her hair is naturally brown). (I guess I'll have to substitute for the "contacts or hair dye part", since none of the princesses have them)
An odd name- Yes. 'Rapunzel' is as odd as it gets. 1.
Looks constantly commented on- No. I can't remember Rapunzel's looks being commented on much.
Always the hero- Kind of. She did win over the thugs, save herself and Flynn, and even bring him back to life after he unsuccessfully tried to rescue her. 1.
Multiple characters falling for her- Not really. Only Flynn really did.
Gets into the relationships she wants- (I'll have to be generous with this, since it's a trait all of them share with their love interests) Not really. She didn't really want a relationship with Flynn as much she wanted to achieve her dream.
No flaws or any flaws addressed or called out on- Yes. Gothel certainly criticizes her flaws, but only because she's an abusive parent and the villain. The only time her naivete gets her into trouble is when it's just Gothel tricking her again. This is one of the biggest traits, so 2 points. 2.
Seen as perfect/angelic in everyone's eyes- Definitely. Everyone loves her and sees her as angelic. Also worth 2 points. 2.
Always loved and trusted without earning it- Yes. The thugs and townspeople immediately loved her without knowing she was the lost princess. So did Flynn, though she at least earned that. Another major trait that's worth 2 points. 2.
Love and trust from closed-off characters- Yes. Both the thugs and Flynn. 1.
Other characters degraded for her sake- Not as far as I can remember.
A rival to make her look good- No. I can't remember any rival she had, unless Gothel counts (which I don't think it does)
Never fails- Yes. She succeeded in leaving her tower, saving herself and Flynn from drowning, achieving her dream, and even bringing Flynn back to life. 1.
Never injured- Yes. I can't remember a time Rapunzel was injured, unlike Flynn, though it could be justified due to her healing hair. 1.
Always praised and rewarded without earning it- Not really. She earned her happy ending and most of the praise she received.
Unrealistically skilled/powerful- No. She had her entire life to practice her skills, and her powers aren't that unreasonable (except for when she brings Flynn back to life).
Always figures things out- Kind of. She figured out how to save herself and Flynn, how to fit in with the outside world despite never having left before, and even that she was the lost princess and that Gothel was lying to her for no explained reason. 1.
Kind but deadly- That's most of Rapunzel's personality. 1.
Tragic backstory- Yes, even if she doesn't see it as such. Kidnapped as a baby, used and abused by her caretaker, kept isolated and not allowed any contact with the outside world. 1.
Skilled in a wide variety of things- Yes, even if it's justified due to the time she spends alone. Just listen to the first song. 1.
Contradictory traits- No, Rapunzel's personality traits were pretty consistent, except for her conflicting emotions about leaving the tower, which are played for laughs and realistic.
Always gets what she wants- Yes, actually. She was forbidden from leaving her tower but left anyway, got to achieve her dream, escape her oppressive "mother" and confined life, and reunite with her parents. 1.
Rarely shows negative emotions- Yes. She does show insecurity, indecision, and anger towards Gothel, but most of the time she's just cheerful and happy. 1.
A resurrection- No, though she does have the ability to resurrect others.

That's 17 out of 24. I'd say that's a mild Sue. It's hard trying to fill these because few characters fit too many of the traits. I added two of my own traits (the two last ones before "A resurrection"), since I was struggling to have as many as in the original test.

If you think I answered any of these wrong, tell me. This is just too fun and I'm not too confident with my skill. Tell me how accurate you think this was, and who I should do next.

After all the hype, merchandise and racial debate The Princess and the Frog finally made it to the big screen, jam packed with a variety of different aspects that where inspired by other media. However not one of my favourite princess films, I can appreciate it was a good attempt and can enjoy certain aspects of its story. Now lets look at the concoction of literature, previous films and art stirred together in the Gumbo pot to make Disney's latest fairy tale.

The original text that the film's plot was loosely based of which is a novel released only 7 years prior in 2002 with the title...

Other than Disney, my big fandom is Harry Potter. I generally sort people into houses, so I thought it would be fun to play Sorting Hat with the princesses. My sorting isn’t just by traits and house characteristics, but also a lot by personality, so some of them might not make too much sense at first.

Snow White: Hufflepuff
I know, none of you expected it. Snow White in Hufflepuff, this is probably the biggest shocker in an article of mine since I put Ariel’s singing voice at the bottom of my list.
All sarcasm aside, is there really any other house for her? She is one of the most hardworking...

Don't get me wrong. I love the Disney Princesses. They are all wonderful characters that symbolize the beautiful animated films they represent. However, I have to wonder, would Disney executives be sending a better message to their young fans if they instead called the line Disney Heroines? The reason I say this is because there are so many wonderful animated women in our favourite Disney films that are excluded from this branch of Disney entirely. Luckily, Pocahontas and Mulan were made exceptions which I think was a much needed change. If every girl can be a princess, as one of the company's...

Iconic Disney Kisses <3
Iconic Disney Kisses <3
In light of Valentine’s Day, I decided to write an article on the Disney Princess couple’s that I believe have the best and most realistic relationship. Oh, and spoiler alert: I only really like 4 of them.

Couples I DON’T like…

10. Mulan & Shang

Mulan & Shang
Mulan & Shang

I love Mulan – she’s intelligent, brave and selfless. And Shang’s no novice either; in fact, his bravery, leadership and courage are practically matchless. But their relationship, it was too sudden; too forced. They lacked chemistry. Make no mistake, I love Mulan and Shang, they’re great – just not together....

Hey everyone! PPGBelle4 here! :) Fhghu and I decided to collaborate on a list for fun, so why not do one on our prettiest princesses? Here is our list combined and averaged. Anyway, I hope you like it, and please comment!

8. Jasmine

FHG Ranking: #9
PPG Ranking: #9
Average Score: 9

FHG: She looks like an alien in my opinion. She has a big nose and extremely large eyes. She just looks weird nearly the whole time. I could only find one good shot of her. ONE. There is only one heroine who is fuglier than her, and is overrated in beauty A LOT. *cough*Meg*cough*.

PPG: Okay,...

Flounder is the fairest of them all! no, I just couldn't find a fitting top image, but heyy, everyone loves Flounder!

This took a lot of thinking. I think I changed my mind like 31364684321354652 times, but here we have it! Magicfairydust's prettiest disney princesses. I took into account what the princesses could look like at their prettiest, and also what they usually look like. It was pretty close :)

10. Pocahontas
I know, I know, I KNOW! SHOCKER! but tbh, I really don't think she's THAT gorgeous! I mean, I think she's beautiful in her own way, and she's very exotic, but she just doesn't have enough absolutely gorgeous shots. Oh gosh, I'm going to get so much hate for this one. She has the best body out...

All right, first off a little history about myself. When I was a little girl I used to enjoy the little mermaid. Ariel was actually one of my favorite Disney princesses/movies.

Now that I am older however, I have just recently watched the little mermaid one, two and the third movie which is Ariel's beginning.

I couldn't believe what an awful role model she is and how selfish she is. I searched on the internet to find others with my similar view on her and I stumbled across this article here: link

My article here is solely debunking everything this particular person is going on about and finally...

I figured since Merida is now in the line-up I should remake my prettiest Disney Princess list. I wanna make it clear that I think all of them are beautiful, just in different ways. Please comment telling me what you think.

11.Cinderella
Classically beautiful but plain with a poorly drawn nose, quite common, and looks MUCH prettier in the third movie

I know I'm going to get attacked by several people but I actually don't think she's all that special. First of all the animation is too old fashioned and her design is too simply so those are two things that work against each other. However...
