Frozen is a 2013 animated Disney film that has become slightly popular if you consider slightly popular to mean a worldwide hit beloved by millions of people. It has become 1 of the most popular animated films ever made as well as the most successful in theaters. Because of all that there's several people that think the film is overrated as well as people who thinks it's 1 of the best films ever made. This film is about what I think of the film.

Plot/Writing

People say that the film is about the 2 main women (Anna and Elsa). Frozen is actually about several different things. There's Anna and Elsa's family relationship, Anna's fake romance with Prince Hans, Anna's relationship with Kristoff, Elsa accidentally getting the world in danger, Prince Hans trying to become a king, and the Duke of Weselton trying to get rid of Elsa. In other words there's a lot going on. In fact there's too much going on.

There are so many storylines going on that it's hard to understand what the film is truly about. However that doesn't mean I hate the plot so here's my review of the film's storylines.

Anna and Elsa's relationship doesn't interest me that much. The fact that they barely have any screen time together is partially why. However they do at least make a decent duo with Elsa being the mature one and Anna being the silly one.

Anna's romantic relationships aren't that exciting either. The romance in the film has been praised for being different, but I actually think it's been overdone. It may avoid the type of princess/prince romance from Disney films, but it follows a more tiresome type of romance plot: The story where a girl is dating a guy who turns out to not be very nice and follows in love with a different guy.

The villain stuff is interesting. Well not really Hans, but the Duke of Weselton's rivalry with Elsa is the best storyline in the film. This storyline takes up a small amount of the film, but every scene of it works. It brings excitement, action, and plenty of humor.

The Characters

Princess Anna is my favorite Disney princess. Although her storylines don't appeal to me not much I like her personality. She is kind and sweet, but also eccentric and goofy. She's the second funniest character in the film. Her charming personality and humor help the film a lot.

Queen Elsa looks cool and has cool powers, but I'm not a big fan of her personality. She's kind of a killjoy. She has really understandable reasons to be a killjoy, but that doesn't stop her lack of charm and fun. However her action scene with the Duke of Weselton's henchmen was pretty awesome.

Kristoff makes up for his lack of importance to the plot by being a fun character. A lot of his scenes with Anna are funny. The 2 of them are a good comedy duo. His obsession with ice led to have some goofy jokes that I really like. His reindeer is okay, but forgettable.

I'm not a fan of Olaf. He lacks much importance to the plot and I don't like his jokes. He doesn't do much other than doing jokes.

Prince Hans is the main villain yet the secondary villain is far more memorable to the point that Hans' role is kind of forgettable. Hans is at least a very clever villain with a cool costume, but he wasn't that exciting.

The Duke of Weselton is my favorite character in the film. He brought more entertainment and humor than any of the other characters. I like how over the top and absurd he is. I wish he was the main villain, but his supporting role was great. His henchmen were epic in their fight scene with Elsa.

The Voice Acting

All of the film's voice actors did a good job. However there are 2 that deserve a very special mention. The first Alan Tudyk who did a fantastic job at the Duke's goofy voice. Another special mention goes to Ciaran Hinds who has a small role as the grandfather troll, but he has a pretty awesome sounding voice.

The Animation

The animation is good. The characters look cool and they have great costumes. The animation on the ice is extremely well done. Visually the film is really good.

The Songs

The first song (the ice guys in the first scene) is a cool song. Anna's coronation day song is funny. Anna and Hans' romance song is really well done. I'm not that big of a fan of the other songs.

Overall

Frozen isn't a masterpiece, but it has enough fun characters and entertaining scenes to be worth checking out. The film is somewhat overrated. (The Wind Rises should of won the animated film oscar instead of this film). However I like the film and I hope that the sequel is great.

Hi everyone, I just watched Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera just now. While watching, I noticed some similarities with Beauty and the Beast! Here are my observations.

The Story-line

As you may know, both stories are set in France, it also has a sad theme in it as it deals with a deformed person name Erik who wishes to be love. Ironically, the author of The Phantom of the Opera is by Gaston Leroux, who happens to be the namesake villain of Disney's retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The rose also plays a symbolic role in both stories.
Secondly, the Stranger Than You Dream It scene...

Well,it's been a while since a wrote an article,huh?
It's not entirely my fault,it's just I that my life has its ups and downs and I had to deal with both of them in the past days.Plus, considering how long my previous article was that I had to split it into two parts,I needed some break from that.
But enough talk, let's get into the article itself.
You may not have known this, but I'm also a big Steven Universe fan. Most of that has to do with the fact of,you guessed it,how much it resembles Frozen.
Now technically,Steven Universe aired about one week before Frozen came out,but the similarities...

I haven't done a ranking in a while, so here ya go. This article is dedicated to the amazing animators of Disney who gave us wonderful character designs and, sadly, unrealistic hair expectations! (*cries because my hair will never be as cool as DP hair*)

That being said, although every princess has beautiful hair, some manes are better than others. This is my opinion of their hairstyles, ranked worst to best.

12. Tiana

I find Tiana's hairstyles quite disappointing. As the first black princess, and being absolutely gorgeous at that, the animators could have done lots of cool things with letting...

Hello, everyone! This is the first installment of my new series analyzing the DPs' personalities according to the Enneagram system.

Introduction: Understanding the Enneagram

So, the Enneagram is a pretty complicated system of classifying personalities. Basically, everyone has a core type, expressed as a number of One through Nine. This is the most straightforward description of someone’s personality.

Here’s a basic rundown of each type:
1: perfectionistic, rational, idealistic
2: generous, warm-hearted, nurturing
3: ambitious, image-conscious, charming
4: sensitive, dreamy, moody
5: cerebral,...

I know she's always typed as an Intuitive, especially an ENFP, and it's understandable why; I had once typed her as an ENFJ myself. She does, after all, just "know" the lights are "meant for me!" But is that really indicative of someone with strong intuitive preference? I think it's because this tendency for people to type nerdy/quirky/silly ESFJs as ENFPs, not only Rapunzel but characters like Steven Universe. It gets frustrating because that just implies only intuitives are inherently imaginative.

Anyway, to the typing:

Extroverted Feeling (Fe): Rapunzel is very warm to everyone she meets....

I really think he loses it, here... Raging at a person is not explaining to a person your personal view.

Triton is one of those dads in Disney that absolutely makes me squirm. I don’t love him, and I don’t hate him. But I do find him extremely unnerving, and on the same plane of Mother Gothel upsetting. He clearly alternates between being “nice” only sometimes, and then being really “explosively nasty” at other periods. King Triton’s rule is a patriarchy. I think his abusive tendencies, though, stem from insecurities he has within himself. Triton is afraid of the unknown. He's also afraid of not appearing “manly” enough. ( Bizarrely, this also makes me think of Prince Adam and...

I got inspired by laylastepford's link about which American Cities the Disney Princesses would live in and as I'm from Sweden I decided to write an article about which Swedish Towns (since most falls into that category, only a few falls into the "city" category) each Disney Princesses would live in, it's hard to identify each town's personality so I based it on mostly other aspects. I haven't been to all these towns so I'm just basing on what I know about each town

Snow White: Alingsås

This town lays only about 30 minutes train ride from Gothenburg and from what I've read and seen off...

Hello there! I'm ApplesauceDoctr here today with my third DP Song Analysis article. I've forgotten how much I enjoy writing these, and since I re-watched Brave a few days ago, I thought I'd analyze one of its most notable songs -- "Into the Open Air".

Before we begin, thought I'd mention this -- the chorus occurs twice in the real song (the one you can purchase from the soundtrack), but only occurs once in the actual movie. The lyrics for the two are quite different, but because we only hear one version in the movie, I'll only discuss that one we hear. :D

This love, it is a distant star...

Ah yes. Merchandise. Money, in other words. I adore the Disney princesses. They are all unique, and have good qualities. Some are even a little complex and the majority are at least decent role models. That's not how Disney markets them. Well, unless their name is Anna or Elsa. For the first 11 princess, they are downgraded into sparkle obsessed girls that look nothing like they did in their original film. Great princesses are forgotten in merchandise as well. The whole system is downright awful. For the Frozen sisters, Disney markets them as "I don't need a man". They tried that with Merida...

I realized that I've never written an article with any of my list in this club; so I wanna start with something that I really love: Disney Princesses' Outfits! I'm a big fan of Disney dresses, here's why I love cosplayers and to cosplay so much. It's wonderful to see an animated dress in person.
Well, about my article: I included just complete outfits, for example I kept out Ariel's rags because, in my opinion, this isn't even an outfit, or Mulan's white dress she wears under her Matchmaker visit dress because they are part of the same outfit. So, I hope you'll enjoy my list and tell me with...

I'm not doing it with the CGI Princesses because I don't particularly like any of their smiles. I mean... they look like real teeth Dx Anyway, here's my list...

9. Pocahontas
As some may know, I think Pocahontas is a really beautiful human being, in and out. But what I don't find beautiful about her is her ways of expression. When she speaks, it sounds like she's faking every type of emotion she's trying to express and the same goes to when she smiles.

8. Mulan
Mulan's smile feels held back so that's why she is in this placement. But I do think it's warm and natural, maybe not as ''impressive''...

13. Snow White
Snow would definitely be higher on my list if her curls were more defined. I like the idea of her hair styled in a bob with a red bow. Unfortunately, that idea didn't come out too nicely to me.

12. Cinderella
Strawberry blonde is my favorite hair color and Cinderella's burnt orange hair color is no doubt uniquely gorgeous. Speaking of unique, so are her bangs but I can't say I really like them as they look like plastic to me.

11. Tiana
The little strands of curls that hang down are pretty cute. Although it doesn't look like you can do much with Tiana's hair but tie it...

Just a quick article to compare Gaston to the Beast and decide who is really the villain...

Similarities:
Gaston: Vain, selfish and doesn't really care about anyone else.
VS
Beast: Spoiled, selfish, cursed for not having any love in his heart.
xxxx
Gaston: Only wants Belle because she's beautiful.
VS
Beast: Only wants Belle because she's the first girl who's come along since the curse.
xxxx
Gaston: Locks up Belle and her father.
VS
Beast: Locks up Maurice and keeps Belle prisoner.
xxxx
Differences:
Gaston: Relatively level-headed. Acts more out of jealousy than anger.
VS
Beast: Quick temper. Yells a lot for...
