I have been inspired by other articles of defending the Walt era princesses on this website. I thought I would write my own article because I also get upset when people bash the Walt era princesses.

The Walt era princesses get a lot of flack for being anti-feminist. This really irritates me. People have to realize when these films came out, social norms were different back then. Snow White was released in 1937, Cinderella was released in 1950, & Sleeping Beauty was released in 1959, that was 78, 65 & 56 years ago! On top of that these films are based on fairytales that were written centuries ago when women were viewed as second class citizens.

Snow White, while she is not one of my favorite princesses, I don't think she deserves all the flack she gets. People accuse of taking an apple from a stranger, while it wasn't a wise idea, you have to remember she was only 14. Another criticism is that she went into a strangers house, again not the smartest idea but she was trying to escape from the Evil Queen who was trying to kill her, she needed to find shelter.

People say Cinderella should have left her abusive stepfamily. Where could she have gone? She couldn't simply move to an apartment and work at a restraint. Women didn't have as much options back then. Marriage was her only way to escape her stepfamily. At the beginning of the film, she wasn't even talking about marrying a prince. When she was going to the ball, she just wanted a night out, she wasn't expecting to find a husband.

Aurora is difficult to write about even though I love her. She is asleep for most of the film. She basically gets criticized for sleeping. The film is called Sleeping Beauty. It is the whole point of the story. If she doesn't go to sleep, it would no longer be called Sleeping Beauty. How are you suppose to tell the story without Aurora going to sleep? If wasn't completely her fault she touched the spindle, Maleficent hypnotized her.

Bottom line: Just because Snow White, Cinderella, & Aurora aren't shooting arrows or fighting huns, doesn't mean they should be considered bad characters.

I've decided to do Frozen version of Crossing The Line with Elsa as Rapunzel and Anna as Cassandra since my girl Anna is the MOST underrated Disney character just like Cass here.

Elsa: Anna! This has to stop now
Whatever it is that you're going through
We'll fix it together, me and you
Just like we've always done

Anna: No! This has to stop now
This thing where you think that you've been my sister
And don't even hear how you consider
The way you've always done

Elsa: Anna, listen

Anna: (I'm listening)

Elsa: I know it isn't true

Anna: (Isn't it?)

Elsa: Just look into my eyes now

Anna: (Well?)

Elsa: I know...

Sorry this is so late!

I love how she just barges in and takes over the dwarfs' lives. She comes in, starts bossing them around, and runs that cottage like a business. It's freaking hilarious! XD -MaidofOrleans

Something people credit Belle a lot for that I never see them do for Snow- she doesn't care at all about appearances. She's surprised to see the Dwarfs because presumably she never has seen any before (also, she just woke up to see a bunch of strangers anyway). She doesn't laugh at them or think they're freaks for being different. And of course the hag. Snow looks past her scary appearance...

On the Eleventh Day of Princess Walt Disney gave to me

Eleven birds-a-flying

Ten Spices Boiling
Nine Ships are sailing
eight mice a-sewing
seven dwarves dancing
six sisters singing
five cursed friend

four braiding girls
three fairy spells
two lucky pals
and the wisdom of an old tree

I can't express enough how much I agonized over this one. The one thing I knew from the get go was that I wanted to use this picture and none other for the calendar. It was the one which inspired me to search for murals and use them as motive.

But the holiday was the thing which really threw me into a loop, mostly because...
