With the next installment in my series I'm looking at Princess Anna! Yet another princess who I feel doesn't get nearly the love and attention she deserves on here. So many people seem to find her annoying, forced, stupid and unrealistic, but I see her as so so much more. I hope reading this can help people see that ^^ Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading!

A lot of people give Elsa credit for staying strong over this whole ordeal/have sympathy for her, but I think Anna deserves just as much credit. Unlike Elsa, Anna had no idea whatsoever what was going on. Anna had all the memories of being as close as can be with her sister until one day her sister just completely shuts her out. Not talking to her, not even seeing her. For a young girl I'm sure this would be very traumatic and cause her to blame herself. "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?" really displays this well, so I don't get why people keep saying always talk about how they feel so bad for Elsa when Anna is having it just as bad. She thinks it's all her fault; that she's the one that caused her sister to go into isolation. This really shows how mentally strong Anna is, even if people think she's "stupid." I do think her decision to leave alone and to leave the kingdom to the man she just met was rash and a bit careless, but I think that's a good thing. It's good to give animated characters a balance between good traits and bad traits so they're not perfect. Anna is flawed, but she's still enduring and mentally strong.

The next case is Anna's most defined quality, her resilience/determination. This quality is displayed in the film a lot. Never once does Anna give up or loose hope. I really love this quality, because I feel nowadays it's often for people to over-dramatize things and think the whole world is against you over just a small situation, so seeing a character that looks on the bright side for once is really refreshing. The fact that even all throughout the years displayed in "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?" she still believes in Elsa. Even though Elsa has cut Anna out of her life for the last ten or so years, resulting in Anna not having any human contact what-so-ever, Anna still desperately yearns to know her sister better. Even after Elsa strikes her with ice again, she still believes in the good and Elsa, and ends up sacrificing herself for her sister who all she's done is shut her out and ignore her.

Her sacrifice leads to my next point, new selflessness. Anna didn't have to go after her sister. She certainly didn't have to rush to her sister immediately, but she did so anyway. Right after the whole thing happened where Elsa's powers are revealed, Anna doesn't panic. All that's on her mind is saving Elsa. Hans, her dream man, doesn't cross her mind once. Yes she'll have to leave him for who knows how long, but Anna doesn't care about that. That in it self is extremely selfless, not to mention her sacrificing herself for her sister. Anna could've just ran to Kristoff and be safe and happy with him and Sven and live a happily ever after, but Anna dies for Elsa. She didn't know that in doing so she'd be saved, she just knew that Elsa needed help and she was going to save her no matter what. Even after the last time they saw each other Elsa almost killed her, even after the last time they saw each other Elsa made Marshmallow to kick them out, even after all of their past. Anna is much more than the cute, awkward girl she appears, but her personality is another great reason of why I love her.

I love Anna's quirky personality. I love how they gave her little things that make her who she is. One thing she often does is slide in her socks in the castle. She does this three times at least, and I find it nice they gave her that. Giving her little quirks and habits make her seem more fleshed out and real to me. As I said above, she's flawed, but I feel that makes her organic and more real than ever before. She's unrefined, not much of a princess type, but she still has so many admirable qualities that just make her really great. I love how she's desperate for love. It's a quality that is nowadays looked down on in society, but the fact that she needs love after being alone for so many years seems real to me, and shows that she's more vulnerable than she appears. Anna's quirky, bubbly personality makes her a joy to watch, and I'm always entertained by her stubborn personality throughout.

All in all, Anna is an amazing character. She's got a very flawed, realistic personality that makes her a very interesting character, and she has a good balance of negative traits and positive traits. Anna may seem to be a bit much at times, but her lack of social interaction and desperation to be well-liked justify it. Anna's determination makes her very admirable, but her quirks ground her from being too perfect. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed! I hope this article wasn't terrible, I was in a bit of a bad mood as I wrote it. Thanks for reading! :)
