Alright, this is going to contain critical and possibly controversial opinions about Frozen and Tangled, as well as other things, so if you can't stand to hear these movies badmouthed I'd suggest that you skip this article. Now that you've been suitably warned, on with the article!

MARKETING

The first that you see of new Disney characters is almost always through promotional rendered images, so that's where we are going to start in this dissection of Disney's character design.

To begin, let's look at some of the earlier promotional art of Elsa and Anna:

Looking at these two, it's difficult to spot much in the way of differences. Sure, they're wearing different clothing, hair, and makeup, but those are only artificial details. For a cast of characters to be varied and diverse, body type and facial features should be taken into account along with these artificial details. Which is why it is troubling that Anna and Elsa have virtually the exact same facial features and body types. "But wait," you say, "Elsa and Anna are sisters. Surely sisters are supposed to look alike!" And sure, they should. It would be just as odd if they had no similar features. But they aren't twins, so it's just pure laziness to take one 'marketable' face, tweak it a little bit, and pretend you have two radically different character designs. And not only do both Frozen sisters have almost the exact same face, this isn't where this puppy-eyed, snub nosed trend began. For that, we'll have to go back to 2010...

TANGLED

The first ever CGI princess has always looked to me like she was designed in a laboratory for the purpose of making millions on dolls. Her infantile, eyes, snub nose and mouth always in a quirky smile... any advertiser's wet dream, that's for sure. However, one interesting thing I noticed about the Frozen sisters is, not only did they have an imitation of Rapunzel's face nestled between their CGI curls, it also appeared that with the marketing of Anna and Elsa they just took the two angles they were going with Rapunzel. Because if you think back to the advertising for Tangled, with Rapunzel's promotional images there were two angles they played: the cute, quirky Rapunzel, jumping around and brushing her hair, and the fiesty, 'tough' Rapunzel, using her hair as a whip and brandishing a frying pan.

After all, look at these two comparisons and try telling me that there are influences not only in actual character design, but also marketing angles:

FINAL WORDS

So, it seems as though lately the Disney Princess lineup has two options: quirky and awkward, or 'strong empowered woman'. And I can't say I'm fond of this, and really hope this trend doesn't continue with Moana and onward.

After all, Disney is a huge company, and the Disney Princess line up is quite prevalent all over the world. Why can't we have original, unique character designs, instead of everything being copied to match society's ideal of beauty for the sake of marketability?

And although BH6 did a lot better with this, and Merida certainly doesn't adhere to standards of beauty, BH6 has nothing to do with the DPs and Merida is Pixar. Which means that we just have to hope that the next Disney Princess affiliated Disney feature doesn't continue this trend.

Well, there goes my first article! It could be a lot better, and perhaps it was a poor choice to choose a controversial topic for my first article, but oh well. I hope you all enjoyed!

This is my collab with my friend Olivia, you might know her as _CatWoman_. She helped me a lot with this and gave some hilarious ideas.

Alright, let's get on with my take of them! Try to guess which DP it is as I give hints of their qualities. Don't scroll too far too fast!

-casually catches bugs and take them outside when they scare everyone else in class

1. Normal Outfit
Yes I know she is not a disney princess, but because of comments from previous articles I have created, I have decided to do some disney heroines as well. These women will come in no particular order so you won't know who it will be till its actually published. Today my first Herorine will be Esmerellda the gypsy from Hunchback of Notre Dame.

1. Normal outfit

This is what she wears for most of the film. She wears a white top, a teal and gold bodice, a purple skirt and purple head band with large circular golden earrings. It makes her the pretty woman that she is. I like the jewellery just as...

Do you wanna build a snowman or do you want to read this article. My first frozen princess article is here. Here we will be explaining about Anna.

1. Winter outfit
Anna's dress she wears for most of the film to find Elsa. She wears traditional Norwegian clothing known as a Bunad. The outfit consists of a dark blue skirt with purple roses at the bottom, a black bodice, light blue blouse underneath, a purple coat and black heels. The outfit matches a really nice pretty look for her. That shows spring in this, a very nice outfit. 9/10

2. Coronation Dress
My favourite dress of hers consists of a black...

We are now on the final renaissance princess Mulan. However she is not a royal princess. She is not born one and she maries Li Shang a soldier not a prince, but she is still really cool and has princess outfits so don't be saying negative thing she rocks.

1.Normal dress
When we first see Mulan she is wearing a green Cardigan, blue strap all on top of a yellow dress. This all looks lovely, I love the colours on it. A lightly coloured outfit thats Pretty and simple all in all I like it. 8/10

2. Brides maid dress
When singing reflections, Mulan is wearing a pink top, a high ponytail, dark blue strap...

What's a princess without a tiara! Fans have voted for their most beautiful tiara here's the look at the results.

11. Merida:
Most fans didn't think that hers was even a tiara, although technically a coronet is a tiara. Fans felt it was too much like a headband only and was voted the first. Personally i thought it was very pretty and much closer to being a tiara than some that looked more like proper crowns.

Isabellagirl033: Like wavesurf said, Merida's tiara is not even a tiara, it is just a piece of jewellary around a wimple.

Cruella: Is this thing even a tiara?

Sparklefairy375: Eh? I...

I have put together the wedding themes for our renaissance girls in this part of the article. Here we go

Ariel: The Treasure Trove
I didn't want to give her a beach wedding, as she was hardly in love with the waters. She was however totally mesmerized with all unique things on land. She loved collecting numerous little trinkets from land and made an eclectic collection in her grotto, a treasure trove. I think she'd love to have a mix and match wedding theme with beautiful decor pieces coming together to mesmerize her, clock by the seating, candle stands of various shapes and make, forks and...

The soundtrack
The soundtrack
Hi everyone, this is actually on my favourite deleted song from the movie, Frozen. As I had the Deluxe Edition of the soundtrack and here are my thoughts on which song it should have been in the movie.

We Know Better

This song is actually the origins of how Elsa is a contrast to Anna, who represents the good and evil force in them. It's kind of like the Prologue in Les Miserables as Valjean represents good while Javert represents evil as the story processes.
If the movie had been faithful to the original story, it would have been interesting to see the 2 princesses in these tendencies.

Spring...

Love is everywhere!
Love is everywhere!
Hi guys, since Valentine's Day is coming up after Chinese New Year. I thought that it would be nice for me to write this article since I have loads of great love songs on my iPod Touch. This article is base on the love songs that suits the Disney Princess with their respective princes and the reasons why, if you have any suggestions or opinions, go ahead! I will not include Merida and Elsa in since they don't have a love interest.

Snow White & Prince Ferdinand

Song: Love Story by Taylor Swift

I chose this because the lyrics and the music video fits perfectly for them, since Snow White...

These are simply based on how much I like/admire/relate to that character, and it's only my opinion, so you don't have to agree with it. :) Let's begin!

12. Aurora
Pretty, yes, but where's the personality?
Pretty, yes, but where's the personality?

She doesn't do much at all, and for me to like someone they have to actually DO something. She only gets 18 minutes of screen time in the whole movie, and only 18 lines! She's pretty and graceful and all, but I don't see any real personality or character in her, just a bland princess space-filler.

11. Elsa
I think it's time to let Elsa go.
