Merida had just come back from an archery match and went to her room. She plopped down on her bed, the fatigue slowly leaving her body. She thought about her friendship with Pocahontas and Mulan. *I wonder when I'll be able to see them.* she thought. Shang suddenly entered her mind. *I don't know why he hates me!* she quietly told herself. *John's right. It'll take some time for him to warm up to me.* she thought.

Maudi came into the room. "You got a letter from your friend." she said. "Thank you Maudi." Merida thanked as Maudi exited the room. Merida opened the letter. "From Pocahontas. Probably reminding me to write her and Mulan." she said. Merida hadn't really had time to write. She was just too busy these days.

The letter said:
"Dear Merida, I have something I need to tell you. I'm pregnant! I've already told Mulan. I know I should've told you both, but I didn't want to shock you. I know your wild and spirited traits and I didn't want to hurt you. I hope you'll understand. I can't wait to see you and Mulan.
Sincerely yours,
Pocahontas."

Merida dropped the letter in anger, got her sword out, and started violently attacking her bed post. The betrayal she felt was excruciating. She couldn't believe someone as sweet as Pocahontas would keep something like that a secret from her. "HURT ME?!? YOU KNOW YOU HURT ME!" Merida yelled. She kept attacking the bed post. Every swish she made was from her pure anger. "IN FACT, YOU DON'T EVEN DESERVE TO BE MY FRIEND!" she yelled as if she were yelling at Pocahontas.

"MERIDA! What do you think your doing, Lass?" Queen Elanor scolded. Merida sat down feeling defeated. Elanor calmly walked to her. "Something is troubling you." she said softly. Merida wiped away a tear of anger. "I was just betrayed." she cracked. She handed her mother the letter. "Merida, why would you feel betrayed? You should feel excited!" The Queen stated about Pocahontas' pregnancy. "I know, but I don't know why she kept it a secret from me and not Mulan!" Merida said on the verge of more tears.

Elanor placed a loving hand on her daughter's shoulder. "Merida, you may not know it, but you're more sensitive than you realize. Pocahontas never kept her baby a secret from you just to hurt you." she said. "She not only recognizes the wildness you have, but she also knows about your sensitive side." she continued. Merida wanted to scream, but at that moment, she knew she shouldn't have reacted so harshly. "I...Didn't know she wasn't tryin' to hurt me..." she said speechless. "The last thing that girl would do is betray you." Elanor replied. "What if I told her she hurt me anyway?" Merida asked. "She'd feel dreadful." Elanor answered.

Merida knew she had to get her priorities straight. She had to put her anger aside. She even caught herself smiling about Pocahontas expecting. The smile soon faded when she thought about Shang. "Mulan's husband already hates me." she said. "Merida, he doesn't hate you. He just needs some time to warm up to you." Elanor reassured. Merida wanted to tell her that she was wrong, but maybe she and John had a point.

"Maybe you and Pocahontas' husband are right. He might need more time to warm up to me." Merida said. "Why don't we go downstairs to dinner and put all of this to rest?" Elanor suggested. She and Merida went downstairs and soon caught up with Maudi. "How is Pocahontas?" she asked. "She's fine. In fact, she's havin' a baby." Merida answered. "Oh! Just like Mulan!" Maudi beamed. Merida soon found herself all excited for Pocahontas as she put her negativity in the grave.
Remember those great romantic moments that were imbued with pure Disney magic and have since become timeless keepsakes: how we got to experience love at 1st sight with Cinderella as she waltzed away with Prince Charming into a blessed starry nightscape; the anticipation we held on to when Prince Eric leaned in to kiss Ariel as they floated along a spellbinding lagoon; the way Lady's eyes gleamed under the Bella Notte as Tramp gazed into them over a candlelit spaghetti dinner for two; how our breathes were taken as Eugene finally saw Rapunzel surrounded by the lanterns of her dreams on Corona's...

I doubt if this article belongs here but since we have similiar lists for Esmeralda and Meg, I decided to publish it here. Here is favorite DP list I believe princess Mei from Mulan II would have. Mei highly values romance and also admires people with brave and rebellious personality.
P.S. I am planning to do the same lists for Ting-Ting and Su but these are going to be more difficult to make.

11. Tiana

I am sure that Tiana would be Mei's absolute least favorite DP. Mei would see Tiana as boring, narrow-minded, unromantic, overly rational, materalistic, unadventurous and pig-headed workacholic....

Everyone has their personal ranking of their favorite Disney Princessess n thoughts of who should b included. In my eyes, this is the ranking of the maidens from the house of mouse:

15. Aurora, indeed the sleeping beauty is beautiful, elegant, n has a heavenly opera voice, unfortunately she has little agency in her own story n personality.

14. Anna, a spunky n cute go getter but most of the other princesses that have come before her have these traits checked off too.

13. Moana, a real cookie cutter of a modern disney princess, she is pretty much just an ethnic variation of Anna but is ahead one...

Pocahontas is one of those Disney films that, despite being middle-of-the-road for me, I have to rewatch fairly often. Something about this movie intrigues me. Maybe it's because I want to like the movie more than I currently do and understand why some fans revere it. I might not be there quite yet after this most recent rewatch, but I'm narrowing in on what specific things I like and dislike about the film. Now's the time to share those thoughts.

Praises
1) The backgrounds in this movie aren't just beautiful. THEY'RE GORGEOUS. The subtle lines, the designs, and especially the rich colors are...

I don't really like Lindsay Ellis at all but I never thought I'd see the day where I agree with her on something and she'd have a video that perfectly sums up my issues with Disney in recent years.

I was watching her Beauty and the Beast 2017 review and she was basically complaining about how years of whiny, nitpicky nobodies on the internet like you and me going on and on about "stereotype" this and "problematic" that regarding Disney movies has pretty much resulted in the hot ass messes modern Disney films are today. How the BatB remake is a terrible adaptation of the OG film and it's contribution...

Thanks for tuning in to the second article of the series, Snow White's favorite princess list. If you haven't already, please go read link.
6 years ago I did these articles as well, so you are welcome to go check out my old opinion on Snow White's rankings link.
Disclaimer: None of us will ever know truly what Snow White's favorite princess list would be. However, being on fanpop for 9 years, I find myself heavily invest in Disney Princesses and I did my best to parse out how I think Snow White would rank the princesses. She's an interesting one to dissect since I think she would love all the...
