The most underrated of them all yet to me, the best
The most underrated of them all yet to me, the best
A lot of people call the classics Mary-Sues and I strongly disagree, and I have much evidence to prove that they are far from perfect. But hey, their opinion, I'll respect that. Here we go...

Here is why they are underrated

1)Feminine
2)Mary-Sues
3)Need a Prince for rescue

They are feminine, yes, but that is not bad in any way. They are Mary-Sues? No way. They need a prince for rescue, they are capable of many things by themselves.

Starting out with the first and my favorite out of the classics....

SNOW WHITE:
I think she is the most underrated out of all the princesses. In areas like beauty (she's my prettiest), personality, voice and so much more. Especially personality, she isn't JUST SWEET, she has more variety then that. In fact she uses her sweetness to charm others, like being able to stay with the dwarfs. She's bossy/sassy, manipulative, intelligent and flirty.

Bossy/sassy- she snaps at the dwarfs to go clean their hands, which I personally love.
Manipulative- using her charm and strength she persuades the dwarfs into letting her stay.
Intelligent- Snow White is very underrated in this department, she manages to run away from the Huntsman (as I like to call him Bob), she runs away from Bob under his command and makes her way through the forest. Like I said before, she knows how to use what she has to survive. She uses her charm for shelter and I find that impressive.
Flirty- Like I said, this is pointing out how her personality isn't just sweet. Did you see how she batted her eyes and closed the curtains on the prince?

Snow White is considered the most weak out of all the Disney Princesses. Let me repeat, she uses her charm and mind for shelter and she's bossy. I don't know how's she's weak if she managed to find her way out of a freaky forest and repeating again- find shelter.

Again on the intelligence:
She's considered dumb because she ate the apple...ahem. Not to offend you in any way but can I just say how ridiculous that sounds? It's like when you're watching a horror movie, "No, don't go in there! No no no! Aww, why didn't she listen?" I can see that you're just worked up in the moment but really? Can Snow White hear you? The Old Hag was being pretty manipulative and wouldn't leave Snow alone, she had to do something. Snow White is too sweet (I'm not saying she's JUST SWEET) to let an old woman with a hurt back just wonder around.

In conclusion to that, Snow White is very intelligent, not a Mary-Sue and has much more variety then JUST SWEET.

CINDERELLA:
Cinderella doesn't need much backing up since she is one of the most popular princesses of all time but I still have some points to make out for those who think she's weak. I'm not as crazy for Cinderella as I am for Snow White, I'll admit that. But how could some say she's would be weak? Well I kind of have to side with the defense both ways for this right now.

Why I think she is weak:
Let my rephrase, why I think she isn't as brave or risky as others. She actually stayed with her step mother and sisters. Being forced to be a maid, sleeping in the attic. She should have stood up for herself or called for help. But she just stayed at home and did what she was told with an entire world of possibilities.

Then again:
She decided to deal with it. That's pretty impressive, she was a dreamer. She never gave up on hope and always trusted in God (I'm assuming, doesn't she look like a Christian to you?). She couldn't run away, no money, no food, no shelter. At least she was being provided with something. And she had plenty of farm friends she wouldn't want to leave. During that time period, running away meant scraps and rags. She's sassy, sweet, dreamy, brave and very romantic

She's sassy- like Snow White, in the morning when she came to feed the chickens she snapped at Bruno (Mars) for dreaming about chasing Lucifer.
Sweet- Which again I find impressive because she was indifferent to this cat. He was mean and rude, trying to eat her friends and get her into trouble.
Dreamy- this one was very obvious, she's sings about dreaming and wishes and always hopes for a better life for her. But at the same time she can always make the best out of things.
Brave- She can put of with Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella, she is most definitely not going to take any of their horrid remarks, near the end she sticks up to Tremaine.
Romantic- Like dreamy, this was pretty obvious, she wants to escape and find her prince. Now this isn't her only goal, this is just a branch of the whole tree.

In conclusion to this Cinderella is definitely most NOT weak and she DID do something to help herself.

AURORA:
She's very underrated in personality. She didn't get much screen time and whatnot but there still is a personality behind that. I personally think she has one of the most interesting personalities out of all the Disney Princesses. She's a romantic dreamer and most definitely not a TOTAL damsel on distress.

With the complaints on Aurora I've heard:
Not enough screen time
Too feminine
Mary-Sue
Damsel in Distress
Fell in love with a total stranger

Not enough screen time, is that something I can argue with, no. It's a very popular opinion, almost a fact. But then again it cannot be presented as one. That isn't something that interferes with her personality though. Yes, you don't see her a often as the others but I cannot see how this is an interference.
Too feminine- that is totally sexist! Just because of mildly liking to wonder off and dream or think of romance doesn't give you a real good reason to dislike her.
Mary-Sue- Nope...that word is being thrown around way too much, Aurora has funky hair for one (that's just my opinion but for the record I still love it) and she was inconsiderate with the fairies warnings.
Damsel in Distress- Was she supposed to magically wake herself up? I find this almost as sexist as the Too Feminine complaint.
Fell in love with a total stranger- actually they met as children and in dreams and visions. They were already meant for each other so I could not see the problem.

Specially dedicated to Siliverrose1991 and Dclairmont for being some of the biggest Classic Disney Princess defenders.
In conclusion I think the classics are the smartest group of Disney Princesses

Loving the cast!
Loving the cast!
Hi guys, I posted about these 2 songs on the Beauty and the Beast fanpage and now. Here are my thoughts on why the former has more meaning than the latter.

Strong Meaning

When Terrence Mann sang this on the Original Broadway cast, I cried my heart out because the beast voiced out his remorseful feelings for chasing Belle out of the West Wing. In fact, the song should also be in the 2017 version because the beast felt no remorse shortly chasing Belle out.

Dramatic Ending

Upon listening to Alan Menken's rendition, I was blown away from his performance and I personally wish that Dan Stevens would sing this song for the film, I'm dying to hear his version!

If I Can't Love Her

So, here are my two reasons on why I love the song, do tell me on what do you think and do you think that it should part of the film?

Hi guys, I managed to see the 2017 reboot of Beauty and the Beast despite the initial boycott over the alleged gay moment for the Malaysian release, as I promise here is my review on the awesome classic!

The Story-Line

While the majority of the film is the same, I was very happy with a number of changes. Like we get to know more about Belle's and the Beast/ Prince Adam's backstory. To which I will write more about in another article soon. Speaking of the Enchantress, I always thought that it is the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella!
The Prologue gives more details than the 1991 version, which...

I finally saw the 2014 Beauty and the Beast and I really loved it despite bad critical reception. Let's start with the costumes and visuals.

Costumes and Visuals
The costumes are stunning! Each of Belle's dresses are so beautiful, and blow the 2017 Belle's wardrobe right out of the water. What I loved is how the film is set in Victorian times so the normal costumes are very drab and gray but the castle was set in the (16th/17?) century before the curse hit so the costumes are from that era which happens to be my favorite era fashion-wise. Belle's ivory dress is my favorite and she looks like...

Hi!! I am an old member of this club, I'm not sure if anyone here is been around long enough to remember me, but Disney is kind of my religion. It adds sweetness in my life, and my favorite characters are the Disney Princesses. So I am updating my favorite DP list (I think it's been 5 or 6 years since I last wrote one), so here we go! (Sorry if there's some bad english, I'm brazilian..)

14) Jasmine

Jasmine may be the one DP I dislike. She screams feminism and independece during the whole movie, but she does very little to establish herself as a strong, level-headed or feminist character....

Before we start out, a big thank you to the 34 users that submitted their lists! All of your opinions were integral in making this an accurate representation of the club’s collective thoughts.

11. Merida (Points: 273)
Sadly, though not surprisingly, Pixar's princess is still considered the least attractive of the DPs. Though a growing group of people have begun to appreciate her looks, most users said that they didn't like her round face shape and lack of distingushable eyelashes. In fact, the only thing many people liked about her appearance was her long, curly red hair- though even...

I love imagining DP and their fashion, the kind of jewelry they may wear, the kind of parties they'd have. I have done a couple of these before for wedding themes and jewelry. This article mainly talks about their signature fashion style.

Snow White:
I think midi-length, flared skirts will suit her chirpy and joyful personality. She's the kind who'd want to keep her dresses simple yet playful and have a bit of color palette to explore in her wardrobe. Short gloves will also look lovely on her. Layering in skirt will match her upbeat and vibrant persona.
Best Color: all shades of red. Black...

Maybe i some day , time ago was guilty of calling some of the princesses "bad role models" , i was wrong, i realized that the fact that i don't like a character or don't agree with, them doesn't mean they are bad role models.

To be fair,i find some people saying "Princess are a bad role model for girls because "insert princess name and reasons here" . But i don't see anyone saying a freaking thing about the disney male characters . I did an article in the Disney club
link

It was supossed to be a parody of how people critize female characters but never say a thing about males. Nobody actually...

I hope that you have a great time in Europe, Anna!
Hi guys, since the Asian batch made it through the front page of Fanpop. Here are the European batch of Anna!

Italian (Serena Rossi)

My first impression on Serena (no, not her namesake Frozen costar, Serena Autieri) is that she sounds a bit like Kristen Bell. But, one thing is that her voice is slightly deeper than Kristen and overall good job! (Ratings: 9.5/10)

French (Emmylou Homs)

When I first heard her singing Love is an Open Door, she sounds very bubbly and gentle at the same time. She does not sound heavy at all! (Ratings: 10/10)

Dutch (Nootje Herlaar)

Okay, I found out that Nootje is actually...
