The note passing day turned into the note passing night. Kuki’s last note was slipped under Wally’s door. He picked it up and read it.
Dear Wally,
Are you sure? I mean, Sing-A-Song is in a week, and I haven’t even come up with my song! Well, that’s OK. We can talk like this every day! But, it’s getting late and I’m tired. I bet even Kacey’s asleep.
Love,
Kuki
Wally hurried so he could reply. He scribbled down on a piece of paper quickly. It looked sloppy, so he did it over. This one he liked better. He slipped it under Kuki’s curtain, and knocked on the wall next to it to make sure she got it. Then, he ran back to his room. Kuki had just changed into her pajamas, and she was ready for bed. Then, she saw Wally’s note. She read it:
Dearest Kuki,
Um, good night. I guess. But before we go to bed, can I ask you something? How do you feel about me? Hate me, like me, love me?
Love, Wally
Kuki wrote back. But she decided not to give it to Wally until tomorrow.

“GET UP!!” Kacey yelled. “OR I’LL RIP UP EVERYONE’S RAINBOW MONKEYS!”
“Yeah, that’ll work on Kuki but how will it get Wally down?” Abby asked. Kacey held out her hand.
Kuki and Wally ran down the stairs REALLY fast. Then, Kuki handed Wally a piece of paper. He looked over it. Then, he sighed. The note said:
Dear Wally,
I like you of course! You’re one of my best friends! Why wouldn’t I like you?
Love,
Kuki
Kacey snatched the note out of Wally’s hand. She read it over. Then, she quietly snickered.
“Note Passing is against the rules.” She finally said.
Wally and Kuki exchanged looks. Then, Kacey talking again.
“Today is the day that we share what we’ve worked on so far for the Sing-A-Song night.” She said. Wally got wide-eyed and Kuki sighed.
“I haven’t started my Sing-A-Song thing.” Kuki said. “But I’ll get it you tomorrow.” Kuki ran upstairs. Then, Kiki came downstairs.
“Hey guys.” She said. She had passed out in Kacey’s bed the previous night, forcing Kacey to sleep downstairs.
“Hi.” Kacey said. “Bed Stealer.”
“WHY’D YOU SLEEP IN KACEY’S BED?” Wally screamed.
“Because I fell asleep there?” Kiki said. Wally snarled and hopped on the couch.
“He still hasn’t gotten over it.” Kacey said.
“Thank you, Captain Obvious.” Kiki said.
“So, what have you completed so far?” Kacey asked.
“Nothing.” Wally said.
“Nothing?”
“Nothing.”
“You idiot, you need to finish some of your song on the first day.” Kacey said.
“Whatever.”
“What were you doing?” Kacey asked.
“Something.” Wally said.
“Passing notes with Kuki?” Kiki asked.
“SHUT. UP.” Wally said.
“Wally! Just go to your room.” Kacey scolded. Wally muttered something under his breath and went upstairs.

Soon, Sing-A-Song became a day away. Kacey and Kiki had perfected their act, Hoagie and Abby seemed to be getting better, and Megan and Maddy had finished on the 2nd day. Kuki had gotten everything done. Hers was easy. And Wally? He didn’t even pick a song. He had been busy writing something for Kuki. It had taken the entire week, but soon, he had perfected it. He decided to give it to her.
“Kuki?” Wally knocked on the wall next to her curtain.
No answer.
“KUKI?”
No answer.
Scooter came out from underneath Kuki’s curtain and dooked. Wally groaned and picked him up.
“Hey, Bud.” He said. “I bet YOUR love life is going a lot better than mine.”
Scooter dooked.
“You’re impossible Scooter.” Wally said. He put Scooter down. Scooter dooked again. Then, she chased his tail.
“What’s wrong with him?” Wally thought. He then began the search for Kuki.

DING DONG!
Megan rang the doorbell to Sector V. Meanwhile, Maddy was getting the mail for them.
“WOW!” Maddy yelled. “THEY GET KIDS NEXT MAGAZINE! Why don’t we get Kids Next Magazine, Megan?”
“Cuz I don’t wanna waste $5.00 on it.” Megan said. Maddy realized there was a copy for each of the Sector V members. Maddy smirked. She grabbed the one addressed to Wally and stuffed it in her pink backpack. Then, Hoagie answered the door.
“Hi Megan.” He said. Then, he handed her something.
“What is this?” Megan asked.
“It’s a contract. It says that you are not allowed to get upset that Hoagie is partnered up with Abby for Sing-A-Song.” Hoagie said. Megan and Maddy exchanged looks. Then, Megan crumpled up the contract and threw it in Hoagie’s face. She and Maddy walked through the door.
“Oh, come on Megan!” Hoagie begged. “You know you love me so just sign the contract!” Megan grabbed him by his collar.
“You listen and you listen good. I never liked you or loved you and I never will. I don’t care what you think and I don’t wanna know. If you can’t understand that, then that’s too bad. I don’t want you flirting with me ever again. Got it?” Megan panted after saying that long explanation.
Hoagie’s eyes filled with tears and Maddy’s jaw dropped. No one said a word. Megan let go of Hoagie’s collar and sighed. She walked upstairs. When she realized that Maddy didn’t follow, she growled.
“Maddy, get up here. Now.” She said. Maddy slowly walked up the stairs. She looked back at Hoagie twice. He still looked like he was told he only had 24 hours left to live. Or at least that’s how Maddy thought he looked.
