Ok, I felt the need to update my list, because I wrote my last article on the topic about a year ago. So enjoy my current list :)

20. SNOW WHITE (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) /previous position: 15/

For the last couple of month I grew to love Snow White. She's so adorable and cute. I love her always positive attitude. And she's also so sweet! It's a bit of a problem for me that she's quite naive, but still this doesn't bother me that much! She's a perfect, little princess!

19. TIANA (The Princess and the Frog) /previous position: 14/

Tiana is a character that I firmly believe need to be respected more! In fact in the last year she managed to climb up a couple of positions on my favorite Disney Princess list. She's ambitious and hard working - exactly how you should be in the contemporary world in order to succeed. But what I love the most about her is that she never lost sight of what's really important. Regardless that she wanted a restaurant with all her heart, she realized she the restaurant by itself won't make her happy. She needed love and family in order to be complete.

18. EILONWY (The Black Cauldron) /previous position: 18/

Eilonwy didn't more at all on my list. I still love her sarcasm and her slightly snobby attitude. I like that she's a bit bossy, but in the same time she still cares a lot about her friends.

17. FIONA (Shrek) /previous position: 9/

Fiona is awesome. She's not the typical princess - she can fight, she can't sing and she turns into an ogre after sunset. But her personality is amazing - she may appear sassy, bossy and sometimes even a bit rude, but she is actually a very sweet and kind character, who believes in happily ever afters and who patiently waits for her dreams to come true! I love her metamorphosis in the movie - from slightly spoiled and delusional princess, she grows up into a mature and responsible adult.

16. RAPUNZEL (Tangled) /previous position: not on the list/

Many people dislike her, and a lot of people like her. I am ok with her. I mean she might not be the most original character ever created, but she's somewhat entertaining. Frankly I enjoy her much more in the end of the film - she's mature and willing to make sacrifices for those she loves. In the beginning of the movie she's naive and amusing, but sometimes it gets a bit over the top.

15. EMILY (The Corpse Bride) /previous position: not on the list/

Couple of years ago I used to relate to Emily quite a lot. Even though now I don't feel her that close, I still like her a lot. She has suffered a lot, but she still needs somebody to love her and she still hasn't lost hope that she'll get her happily ever after one day. I appreciate that she develops throughout the movie and in the end does the right thing by allowing Victor to go back to Victoria.

14. CHARLOTTE (The Princess and the Frog) /previous position: not on the list/

How can you not love Lottie. She's just adorable! I love her goofiness, dreamy nature and determination to get her happy ending. I think despite that she's quite spoiled, she still has a very good heart, and is willing to help her friends. She's such a great character!

13. WENDY (Peter Pan) /previous position: 16/

Ah, Wendy! Adorable little girl! I love her so much! She's so cute and girly. I love that she still believes in magic and impossible things, even though she realizes soon she'll have to grow up. I love how she acts as a perfect little lady, but in the same time she can be sarcastic and can defend herself. Also I quite like that despite that she's a child, she's quite responsible and caring.

12. CLARA (The Nutcracker Prince) /previous position: not on the list/

The Nutcracker Prince is a movie I used to adore as a child. However, for years I didn't watch it, and I forgot how much I love Clara. Fortunately I watched it recently and I remembered how adorable she is. Much like Wendy she is on the verge to grow up, but in the same time she's still a very imaginative child, who believes in magic and in wonders. I love her dreamy personality and her ladylike, yet sassy character.

11. MALEFICENT (Sleeping Beauty) /previous position: not on the list/

The reason why Maleficent was not on the previous list is that I included only heroines there, but I decided to include also villains here. So here's Maleficent, the mistress of all evil! I love how cold and emotionless she is. She just decided to curse a baby because she wasn't invited to a party...how cruel is that! But I also love her elegance - without a doubt one of the most elegant female animated characters ever created.

10. MARINA (Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas) /previous position: 7/

Ok, Marina is pretty cool! She's strong, brave, independent. She longs for adventure and is willing to do whatever it takes in the name of justice. I especially love her because she was willing to stay with Proteus despite the fact that she was in love with Sinbad. She did that in order to keep her promise and to keep her honor, even though this broke her heart! And I really respect that: she was willing to sacrifice so much in order to do what's right. It all turned out well in the end, but nevertheless, her actions made me adore her!

9. ERIS (Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas) /previous position: not on the list/

Honestly, what's not to like in Eris as a villain? She's cold blooded, cruel and vicious. Her voice is amazing! Her hair is even more amazing! I love how sweet she pretends to be, but in the same time she's doing her evil deeds behind everybody's back. I also love how elegant and classy she is. She's just fabulous!

8. JANE (Tarzan) /previous position: 11/

Jane is awesome! I love how playful and sweet she is. I also love that she's so imaginative and ready to experience the unknown. Her clumsiness makes her even more adorable! I love the way she expresses her emotions, how unconventional she is sometimes and how she gets exited about everything she sees in the jungle.

7. POCAHONTAS (Pocahontas) /previous position: 6/

Pocahontas is amazing! First of all her body looks great! Second, she has a great personality. She's open to new experiences, she loves to learn about distant places and she enjoys meeting new people and understanding their ways of thinking. I really respect her. because she was always trying to achieve the best outcome for her people. True, she disobeyed her father, but her actions were not entirely selfish - she wanted to prevent war and bring peace between her people and the settlers. Only then her relationship with Smith would have been possible.

6. MULAN (Mulan) /previous position: 3/

For me Mulan is one of the greatest role models. It's just so easy to relate to her - a lot of people are unsure who they are, but eventually everybody leads their own battles and finds their place in the world. I respect Mulan a lot - she sacrificed so much for her family! She went to war in her father's place, just to keep him safe! She managed to save China even though she was banished from the army! She brought honor to her family and found the right path for her! Overall she's a very well-developed and interesting character.

5. JASMINE (Aladdin) /previous position: 8/

There are people, who say they hate Jasmine because she's too outspoken and rude. I think she's brilliant. I don't find her rude and spoiled, it's actually the complete opposite. She never lets anybody to treat her badly. She knows what she wants and she knows her worth. She's strong-willed and confident. I love that she tells off people who are full of themselves. And I think I think it's a bit hypocritical for people to say they hate her because she's outspoken. In many cases these same people say they don't like the Classic princesses because they are not outspoken enough! Where's the sense in that?

4. ESMERALDA (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) /previous position: 4/

Esmeralda is great! I love how outspoken and brave she is. She's so full of passion and life! She's one of the hottest female animated characters I've ever seen (if not THE hottest). I love how generous and kind she is. I love that she fights the injustice. She's also really smart and defiant. I especially like the scene where she confronts Frollo and frees Quasimodo. Another scene that I absolutely love is where she spits in Frollo's face, thus choosing death instead of him. She's a great role model and a terrific heroine!

3. MEGARA (Hercules) /previous position: 5/

Numerous people despise Meg. But honestly, it's a bit stupid not to like her because in the beginning of the movie she was a villain. Actually not even a villain, she was forced to work for the villain. That's what makes her such a complex and interesting character. And that's exactly why I love her so much. She's not the conventional young lady, who is sweet and nice to everybody. Meg is tough and sarcastic. I love her attitude and her witty lines. But I also love that she sacrificed her life in order to save Hercules! That shows courage and devotion!

2. BELLE (Beauty and the Beast) /previous position: 2/

Belle is the Disney character I have love the most. She's one of the sweetest characters I've ever seen! She's very beautiful, smart and kind. I love that she reads and this sets her apart from all the rest of the villagers in her small village. I love how compassionate and understanding she is, and how she never judges anybody by their looks. I love how even though she's gentle and kind, she still manages to stand up for herself and not let anybody be mean to her. And I adore her relationship for her father: she loves him so much, that she's ready to sacrifice her chances to find adventure in order to stay with him, and take care of him. She even sacrifices her freedom, and volunteers to stay in the Beast's castle forever, just so her father can be free! I can honestly write for hours about Belle's positive qualities and her amazing personality!

1. ANASTASIA (Anastasia) /previous position: 1/

Not a big surprise here I guess. I've loved Anastasia for years, and I still love her! She's absolutely amazing: smart, beautiful, witty, determined, brave! She never gives up to achieve her goals. She's very sarcastic, smart and outspoked, and she always has a witty comeback. I love her character development in the movie. She starts as an orphan, without a past, but with big dreams about the future! She's also very sarcastic and playful! But as the movie progresses, she matured and develops an even better understanding of what are the most important things in life. I love her relationship with her Grandmother: they have such a strong bond! I think their reunion is one of the most powerful scenes in animation. In the end, when Anya decides to be with Dimitri, I love how understanding and supportive the Empress is. I also love Anya's relationship with Dimitri! Overall I think Anastasia is a perfect princess and an excellent role model!

How does it feel to win FOTM?

I still can't believe people voted for me! It's a big honor and I'm happy to know that people recognize the work I have done for this club.

Do you think you deserved to win? (be honest)

I think that I deserved it, because even when I don't have the time to write articles or make polls e.t.c., I still come to this spot and contribute and I generally try to be as active as I can. But I believe there are users who deserved to be nominated more than I did.

Who is your favorite animated heroine? and why?

Esmeralda. :) Esme is fearless, independent, intelligent, witty, fiery,...

I guess he's not a fan of ballets or 1980's animes.
I guess he's not a fan of ballets or 1980's animes.
Ever since Doug Walker did his review of The Swan Princess, I've noticed more and more people around the internet accuse this movie of being "Disney-lite," "a Disney knock-off," etc.

Problem is, the reasons they give are either something that almost EVERY animated movie has done since Snow White (singing, princesses, animal companions, etc) OR it was already in the original fairy tale-inspired ballet written and composed by Tchaikovsky decades before Disney ever got into animation.

Quick Backstory: The Swan Princess is based on the ballet link, again, written and composed by Tchaikovsky. And...
