Series Television
The Friends episode titled The One Where Chandler Can't Cry, included a scene in which Phoebe's sister, Ursula Buffay starred as Buffay the Vampire Layer (parodying Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and perhaps alluding to real life Buffy adult parodies). Ursula Buffay uses her twin sister Phoebe's name for the credits.

The Simpsons episode, "Treehouse of Horror XVI" originally aired in the US six days after Halloween. The last of three segments was entitled, "I've Grown a Costume on Your Face" and had similarities with the Buffy episode "Halloween" (which had aired eight years earlier): the citizens of Springfield dress in their Halloween costumes for a costume contest, but when the winner (dressed as a witch) turns out to be a real witch, she uses her powers to transform many of the residents into their Halloween costumes. In one scene Principal Skinner in army clothes stands next to his mother dressed in a big, poofy pink Victorian dress in a shot reminiscent of Buffy characters Xander and Buffy wearing said clothes in "Halloween". Another episode named "Homer of Seville" has Marge Simpson mention a buffet restaurant named Buffet the Hunger...

"BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER" – Who Is To Blame in (7.19) "Empty Places"?

Nearly five years ago, an episode viewed by many BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER” fans as controversial, aired during the show’s final season. The name of that episode was ”Empty Places”.

In this episode, the citizens of Sunnydale finally desert the town in masse after realizing that their chances of surviving the upcoming apocalypse might be non-existent. Even demons like Clem desert. Buffy, the Scoobies, Spike, Faith and the Potentials are still smarting from their defeat at the hands of Caleb in the previous episode, ”Dirty Girls” (7.18). To relieve the Potentials of their gloomy moods, Faith took them for one last night of fun at the Bronze, a local nightclub. The fun ended in near disaster, after an encounter with police. But when Buffy suggested that Caleb may be hiding something of great value in the vineyard – the scene of their last defeat – the Scoobies, the Potentials, Giles, Wood and Dawn finally turned their backs on her . . . and kicked her out of her own home.

this is possibly the most asked question on this spot, Spuffy or Bangel? I am personally a Spuffier! sorry Bangeliers.... my theory is that Bangel fans aren't ready to see something new, they enjoy the old boring first love deal that is basically in every movie, book, tv show, ect. I totally respect that I just find it to overly played and boring, first love is cute but like I said it's overly played and let's get real here most of the time in real life you're not always going to be with your first love, you're going to eventually and gradually move on you might not even end up with your second love, I'm not saying that it doesn't happen in real life cause sure it does, but it really doesn't happen all the time like they make it seem in things like I said movies, books, tv shows, ect. I will be honest here I really liked Bangel in Seasons 1&2 and sort of Season 3, but I really hated when Angel left her and a few other things. I only actually like Angel when he's not around Buffy he sort of pisses me off he's always like 'Buffy I can't be with you because I'm a vampire, but oh no I want to be with you because I'm good I have a soul take me in' (not actually quote on quote but...

Spike woke up & looked over at his sleeping wife.
Buffy had changed everything for him.
No longer was he a vampire insted he was a super human.
He now has wonderful kids there was Sarah she is six she had his eyes.
But everthing else about her was pure Buffy right town to her cute nose.
Then came four year old James who was a green eye mini spike he even had a little pleather duster.
After James came two year old Alex who was named after his uncle Xander.
Xander helped Buffy while she gave birth to alex. Spike was busy fighting off a demon who attacted them on the way to the hospital.
As thanks spike agreed to name the baby after Xander alex looked a lot like like dawn.
Then there was baby Jenna she was four months old.
Jenna looked like a mix of spike & Buffy she had spikes eyes & buffy's nose.
It is hard to tell who she woul look more like when she got older.
But the kids & himself wornt the only changes that happend over the years.

I have something of a problem with Buffy's relationship with the Scoobies:

"BUFFY'S RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SCOOBIES"

I just finished watching the Season 3 episode, (3.07) "Revelations". I find myself recalling the scene in which the Scoobies reveal to Buffy that they know that Angel was still alive and she had been keeping his presence a secret from them. Apparently, Xander had decided to spy on Buffy, due to her secretive nature and found her kissing Angel.

Now, I realize that they had a right to be angry that she failed to tell them about Angel being alive. But . . . God, this scene pissed me off! If there is one thing about Buffy's relationship with Giles and the Scoobies that has burned me is that she has allowed them to dictate her behavior and moral compass, due to her own fear of losing their friendship. Has Buffy ever put such pressure on Xander, Willow or Giles? I wonder. For years, they put her on this pedestal called "THE SLAYER" and rarely allow Buffy to be herself or have her own life.

There is going to be a 2012 Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie without Joss Whedon and any of the cast from the tv show! I think this idea is absolutely ridiculous and cannot happen! how can someone even think that they can recreate Buffy the Vampire Slayer without Joss Whedon, it so dumb and pointless the first Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie didn't turn out so good because Joss Whedon walked off it, so why do they think that they can make another movie, it is a waste of money and I feel that it is disrespectful to Joss because he is the creator of such a legendary character and they are going to try to recreate his character and they are going to ruin it! if you would like to find out more about this movie then go to the link or links bellow if you'd like (I put a bunch of random and different links down)-

Ok, so I don't know if anybody else will be interested in this, but I want to rank the seasons in order from my favorite to my least favorite, and explain why. Here we go:

Season 2: Do I even need to say why I love this season? I loved the increase in Bangel and the introduction of Spike. I am not as big a fan of Angelus as some people, but I think his introduction lead to one of the best season finales of the series. I also started to really like Kendra, which made the finale even sadder for me.

Season 7: I feel like this season started off a little slow, but it did almost immediately give us hints of what was to come. The second half of the season kept me on the edge of my seat. I feel like I am in the minority here, but I loved the potential slayers, and it made me sad each time we saw one of them die.

Season 1: The season that started it all started with one of the, if not the single, best pilot episodes I have ever seen (I am counting Welcome to the Hellmouth and the Harvest both as the pilot, since they were originally shown together.)It also began what would become the serie's pattern of having amazing season finales. If it weren't for...

{THIS IS AN ARTICLE FROM WWW.GELLARFAN.ORG ABOUT SARAH MICHELLE GELLARS OPINIONS ON THE NEW BtVS MOVIE. SHE ALSO TALKS ABOUT HER NEW ROLE IN THE ORGANISATION "JOY OF READING".

Several cast members of the much-beloved series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” have weighed in on the upcoming Joss Whedon-less “Buffy” movie, and now Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, has made her feelings known.

“It was a movie. It’s been made. It stars Kristy Swanson. They don’t need to make another one,” she said in an interview with CNN on Tuesday. “I think it’s a horrible idea! To try to do a ‘Buffy’ without Joss Whedon? To be incredibly non-eloquent, that’s the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard!”

Gellar is planning to return to series television for the first time since 2003 in a pilot for CBS called “The Ringer.”

“I miss television, I do. It took me a while to understand that I missed it,” she said. “Eight years is a really long time, especially at my age, being so young and not knowing other things and you realize you miss the familiarity, you miss the crew, you miss – it’s almost like summer vacation and...

On the DVD's of BtVS there are Easter Eggs. Here is a guide to find some of them

1. Season 6, Disc 2

On the second DVD select the episode 'Once More With Feeling.' In the following screen go to the 'Language Selection' and there highlight the menu entry 'English for the hearing-impaired.' Now press the 'Left' arrow key on your remote control and the Buffy 'B' will be highlighted giving you access to 3-minutes worth of footage from the soundtrack signing at Tower Records in Los Angeles.

2. Season 6, Disc 5

Some quotes made by Sarah Michelle Gellar about the show and being Buffy Summers.

1. I wouldn't change Buffy for anything and I wouldn't change the course in which she has evolved but it is nice to be able to do something that is a little different.

2. It used to be only on TV that women could lead, that a show could be based on a woman.

3. To me, the scariest elements of horror films are the things that could really happen. And what is more scary than high school? ... What I like about the show is that it reminds you it's O.K. to be different. What people think isn't necessarily true. If people walk away with half of that, we've done our job.

4. [On how she would like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997) and her work on it to be remembered] I hope positively. One thing about the show was it was never categorized. It was drama, comedy, action, horror, all of those things combined. And I just want people to remember it as a fabulous run, a fabulous seven years.

The best thing about having Buffy on dvd is that sometimes you pause at just the right place and see something funny. Or just noticing it because your able to watch the episode more than once. I love Buffy, but it is really funny when there are fails.

First one i ever noticed was when I was re-watching season 1 and in episode 8 I saw something really funny. Pause the episode at 8:30 and when Malcolm is searching the schools record. Under Buffy Summers it says that Buffy is a senior with a 3.4 GPA. A few seconds later it changes and says that she is a sophomore with a 2.8 GPA.

Also in the episode The Wish when Cordelia is talking with her alternate reality friends a microphone comes into view from the top of the screen.

Anybody else notice these or have any other fails?

Hi, thanks for reading my article. So I LOVE BUFFY !!! I admit I've only seen her till season 5. And I'm desprate to see season 6, 7 and even 8. Yes I know, who wants to see season 8. When Sarah Michelle Gellar is not in it. But Buffy is still Buffy. So who can argue. And I really don't think there will be a season 9, since she is married and has a kid. So for people who want more Buffy, think of this, Buffy is everywhere and she will never die.
In my experiance, I see Buffy in book form. In chapters and as comics. On YouTube, where there are many videos. On Fanpop (DUH). On websites, many websites (buffyworld.com). So for people who want more (like me) now you know this. Buffy will never ever die or be forgotten! BUFFY 4-EVER!!!!!!

I have read many opinions regarding the breakup of vampire slayer Buffy Summers and her Season Four/Season Five boyfriend, Riley Finn on many discussion forums, blogs and message boards about ”BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER”. The prevailing viewpoint seemed to be that Riley had ruined the relationship with his behavior and attitude in Season Five. I might be one of the few fans of the show who might harbor another opinion. Then again, I might not. Let me explain.

At the end of Season Three, Buffy’s vampire paramour – Angel – had decided it would be safer for her if he left Sunnydale and her for good. Following Buffy’s graduation from high school, she enrolled in the University of California at Sunnydale. And not long after starting school, she met Riley Finn inside a student bookstore for the first time. As it turned out, Riley was not only a Teacher’s Assistant for one of the university’s instructors (Maggie Walsh), he was also an Army officer and demon hunter for a government-sponsored organization called ’The Initiative’. And unbeknownst to both Buffy and Riley, his mentor Dr. Walsh had been feeding him drugs to enhance his physical prowess. Not only...

Today, Warner Bros. announced plans to remake 1992′s Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which gave birth to the much-loved Sarah Michelle Gellar-headed TV series (which we all still worship unashamedly).

While details are sparse, filmmakers claim the movie would not revisit the vampire slayer’s high school days, attempting instead to capture the “witty, tough, and sexy” heroine in a new way. The team behind the project includes Dark Knight producer Charles Roven and relative newcomer Whit Anderson. The movie could hit theaters in 2012 or late 2011, according to the L.A. Times.

What do you say, readers? Is it time to bring Buffy back from the dead?

Angelus: Passion. It lies in all of us. Sleeping...waiting...and though unwanted...unbidden...it will stir...open its jaws, and howl. It speaks to us...guides us. Passion rules us all. And we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. the joy of love...the clarity of hatred...and the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know some kind of peace. But we would be hollow. Empty rooms, shuttered and dank. Without passion, we'd truly be dead.

Xander: I laugh in the face of danger! Then I... hide until it goes away.

Giles: A vampire in love with a Slayer. It's rather poetic... in a maudlin sort of way.

Xander: [practicing to ask Buffy to the Spring Fling dance] Y'know, Buffy, Spring Fling just isn't any dance. It's a time for students to choose, um... a mate and then we can... observe their... mating rituals and tag them before they migrate- just kill me!

"We're Family" (image credit: stillamempty @ LJ)
First let me clarify the title of this article. I did not mean BtVS fans who have "diehard" metals on Fanpop. I mean BtVS fans who truly appreciate the show, and who stubbornly and vigorously defend it. The people who live their lives consumed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Whenever I meet someone that loves Buffy the Vampire Slayer... or even just likes BtVS... or even someone who goes "oh yeah I saw that show a couple of times. it was pretty cool." I get so excited. Firstly, this is because I think the show is a masterpiece and deserves to be seen by as many viewers as possible. But secondly, I get so excited because I automatically feel connected to the person I am talking to. In my opinion there is something so extraordinary about the show and in order to TRULY understand the show and appreciate it- you must be an extraordinary person. It's not just a television show; it's a way of life. It examines so many different ways of looking at life, experiencing love, and finding ways to make the bad times not seem as scary and the good times not seem so brief and short lasting. Usually someone stops being a fan of a tv show...

Lyrics to the song in Buffy's prophetic dream during the episode Hush (Season 4 Episode 10)

Can't even shout
Can't even cry
The gentlemen are coming by
Looking in windows
Knocking on doors
They need to take seven
And they might take yours
Can't call to mum
Can't say a word
You're gonna die screaming
But you won't be heard

The song clues the Scooby gang in on what the gentlemen do:
They need to take seven
And they might take yours
Refers to the seven hearts they need to collect
You're gonna die screaming
But you won't be heard
Refers the fact that the Gentlemen take away their voices

#2!
Most of these are very strange thoughts. Yes, I have a weird brain. These thoughts will be organized in the form of three questions: What if?, Why?, and Why not?

1. What if?: As a result of a spell going wrong, the Scooby gang was turned into children?

Why?: Spells going wrong are always hilarious. Besides, it would be a very light and fluffy episode, which I thought was what BtVS needed at times (screw you, Marti Noxon).

Why not?: It would be kind of hard to find child stars. *shrug*

2. What if?: We were shown that one time that Spike and Angel were intimate?

Why?: Because it's torture, man! And I'm curious; I don't just wanna watch it because I'm a perv.

Why not?: I guess soccer moms and most of the male audience would disapprove of it. But can't they just cover their eyes and ears and hum Green Day songs? That's what I do in certain Health classes.

3. What if?: Willow and Faith kissed?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is overall very gay-friendly with its lesbian romances between Willow and Tara, and later Willow and Kennedy, as well as the minor Larry character in the earlier seasons. Before Willow met Tara, though, the show was gay-friendly but mostly in metaphor. There are various allusions to how being a Slayer is like being gay, as well as a minor character (Michael) whose witchcraft seems also a metaphor for being gay.

Buffy serves humanity by fulfilling her role as Slayer, a calling linked with womanhood. A potential Slayer first gets her powers during a time of puberty. It is the most important aspect of Buffy’s life, but she must keep it secret to protect those she cares about. Though Buffy is straight, the manner in which she sneaks around to keep her mother from finding out is similar to how a gay person would hide their activities. This is made obvious in the season two episode “Becoming (Part 2)”, in which Buffy is forced to kill a vampire in front of her mother Joyce.

Buffy slays Caleb
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (and to a lesser extent its spin-off Angel) is a feminist show intended to have an inspirational message about young women being strong, but I sometimes see male netizens claiming the show is hatefully anti-male. They say that Joss is a misandrist (man-hater) who uses the show to make women hate men to the point of enacting violence against them. This, however, is a complete misunderstanding of Buffy, Joss, and feminism in general. While there are some individual feminists who are misandrists, feminism is not misandristic in and of itself, and mainstream feminism strives only for gender equality. Joss is not a misandrist, and Buffy represents mainstream feminism’s goal of gender equality by honoring its male protagonists just as much as its female protagonists. Claims about the Buffyverse’s supposed misandry include that there is a double standard with the misandrist character Anya, the Angel episode “Billy” says all men are misogynists (woman-haters), Buffy has a matriarchal message, and that Buffy’s execution of Caleb is a call to violence against men.
