I read recently in the Times newspaper that Mr. Forsythe had been taping the TV coverage of question time in the house of commons because he had noticed a resembleance to the performances there to some variety acts.

I too noticed that resembleance. My particular example the Tony Blair "Billions spent here, billions spent there" answer to practically any question he received.

That answer sung to the old Music Hall song "When father painted the parlour" ("Dabbing it here, Dabbing it there) seamed to me to show the roots of his performance.

The article in the Times hinted that a TV show giving examples of politicians performances and the similarity with show business acts may be possible. I hope so.
