J. R. R. Tolkein !!!!
"Lord of the rings" or "The Hobbit"(if you didn`t read both start with "The Hobbit"). If you like long-long road with many adventures and magic things and true characters )))

or

Walter Scott
"Ivanhoe" if you like medieval age. Here you don`t find magic things but you will find noble people and many adventures.

or(if you feel that you are prepared for great books)
Victor Hugo(be prepared for tears !)
"Les Misérables"
or
"The man who laughs"

or

Miguel de Cervantes
"Don Quixote"!!!! ))))))))))))))))))))-the Best!!! It`s my favourite book ! ))))))) perfect for summer!!!!

I don't think you'll ever see this due to the fact that you asked this about two years ago, but...

...you should read Nicholas Sparks's books. He's so very talented. And just reading his books makes me smile. :)

I recommend reading A Walk to Remember for a first.
