I'm not completely sold on the idea of them married. Together permanently? yes. Married? not sold. It still doesn't really seem that Brennan-y to me, and to be honest I think Booth, despite being a loving, committed partner, does not take actual marriage seriously (or at least see it the right way). He proposed once because he got someone pregnant, and a second time because Sweets accidentally egged him on (and while he was still having feelings for another woman). Marriage doesn't seem like them to me, and after all they've been through when they do get together I don't think they'll need the validation of marriage, their feelings finally being recognised will be validation enough.

Not that I'm against them married (I'll never stumble on a subject I can't ramble about to a point that I accidentally imply I'm ranty, lol) it could be great for them, it's just not what I'm actively hoping for. My ideal for the end is them getting together long enough beforehand that we see them as a couple, possibly with some flash forward or implication that they went on to have a family. If the writing is strong I'll be happy however they go (well, ok. I may get a tad pissy if they aren't together at all, lol).

it really depends on how long the show goes on for. If it's for the next two years, then I don't think they should get married that quickly but if it's for like five more seasons, then yeah... they should get married by then :)

this is what i want: i dun wnat them married, i know how bren feels about marriage and i dun think even with booth strong believe in it that she would actually tie the knot. i think they'll get together and have kids.. thats what i want.. but then again it depends on how long the show will run and etc.. but ultimately, get together and have kids or kid ;D

@CZGIronMan, I don't see how Booth being rejected proves I'm wrong that he does not view marriage properly. By not taking it seriously I didn't mean that he was just jokey or uncaring about it, I meant what I clarified afterwards, that he doesn't view it properly. He has proposed twice, and both times it was for a wrong reason. He likes the idea of it, and he takes his relationships seriously, but does not take what marriage stands for seriously in my opinion. Him being understandably upset about being rejected does not prove he has a healthy view of the institution of marriage, so I don't quite understand your response.

I agree, Mermaid-Tail. I think that Booth has a skewed idea of what marriage means. Both times he proposed out of necessity (doing the right thing) and fear. The first, because he thought it was the right thing to do since they were going to have a baby, and the second because he was afraid of being "that guy"..the one that is older and not married (as Sweets so WONDERFULLY **ROLLS EYES** pointed out)...this DOES NOT mean that Booth isn't a good guy; he is the exact opposite. & it doesn't mean that his rejections didn't hurt him and didn't merit sadness, but I think that Booth hasn't proposed for the right reasons...thus far.

Also, Booth is SO gun shy right now and I don't think that's gonna change any time soon. It's gonna take him a while to start DATING again, let alone proposing to someone else. That kind of vulnerability won't be shown again in Booth for a very, very long time. & he is also going to have to be COMPLETELY sure that (HOPEFULLY BRENNAN!!!!) will say yes before he does.
