Why is Emily surprised about Josh being a werewolf in season 3 episode 11; although, he revealed to his family in Ithaca that he was a werewolf (season 1 episode 7)?

This confused me as well. My best guess is that she (and his parents) didn't take him seriously in season 1. It's not like he'd proven it then.
