Avatar: The Way of Water is a 2022 film that is a sequel to 2009's Avatar. Avatar made history by becoming the highest-grossing film of all time. The film featured visual effects that were unlike anything that had ever been done before. The film left a huge impact on people. Most people agreed that the visuals were amazing, but people debated about whether or not the story and characters lived up to the visuals. After several years of waiting, the sequel finally came out.

Jake Sully and Neytiri now have kids of their own. They also have an adopted daughter, named Kiri, who is the daughter of Grace, Jake's former superior. They are accompanied by a human, named Spider, who is the son of Miles Quaritch, Jake's arch-enemy. Quaritch seemingly died, but he has found a way to come back. He targets Jake and his family for revenge. Jake, his family and the rest of Na'vi have to leave the forest. They seek help from the Metkayina clan, a species of water people. The Na'vi and the Metkayina clan will have to work together, so they can protect their people from Quaritch and his army.

The first Avatar film had a solid plot, but I consider the plot of the sequel to be a big improvement. Now that Jake has fully embraced his new role in life as the leader of the Na'vi, he's able to go through lots of new, interesting changes. He and Quaritch's rivalry was already pretty heated in the first film, but things get a more lot personal and intense in the sequel. Their passionate rivalry carries the film's large number of action sequences. Adding kids to the cast can sometimes be more of a hindrance than a help. However, Jake and Neytiri's kids are a welcomed addition to the film. Their subplots lead to a lot of compelling development.

In the first film, Jake was an outsider to the Na'vi that had to learn to adapt to their ways. The sequel develops him into a strong leader as well as a father who is desperate to protect his kids from his old enemy. The film makes the wise choice of not making him a perfect leader or father. This helps make him a more complex character. Each member of Jake's family is given enough distinct attributes and good moments to shine. Lo'ak gets a compelling subplot as he struggles to do what's right when things get too intense. Spider has an interesting story, because he's a human that cares more about the Na'vi than the humans. Quaritch is a very effective, intimidating villain. He's a pretty bad person, but he still has enough humanity to avoid being a one-dimensional villain. Kiri arguably has the most emotional subplot, because she's someone that accepts her adopted family as her loved ones, but she also wants to learn more about her late mother. She also stands out for her unusual connection to the ocean.

The visuals are the big thing that stand out to people. The visuals in this film are on a whole other level. The effects in this film managed to surpass the first film. This film adds an entirely new species that they had to design for this film. The talented crew did an amazing job. The scenes that take place in the ocean are some of the best ocean scenes ever put to film. Some of the most visually stunning scenes in the film come from the scenes of Kii forging an instant connection to the ocean. Unlike her siblings, Kiri instantly becomes accustomed to the water and everything in the water. The scenes of Kiri forging a unique connection to the water is something that is expressed more with visuals than with dialogue. That type of visual storytelling is something that has to be seen to be believed. As to be expected, the action scenes are eye-catching and exciting. The film is like a 3-hour-long gallery of beautiful art put to film.

To be honest, I wasn't very excited for Avatar: The Way of Water. When I first saw the first Avatar film, I didn't care for it. However, I was so pleasantly surprised by The Way of Water that I decided to give the first Avatar film another chance. The first Avatar film is a better film than I initially gave it credit for. However, I believe that The Way of Water is a stronger film than the first Avatar film, because it has a more compelling plot and a stronger cast of well-developed characters. Also, the visuals in the sequel are even better than the visuals from the first film.

Sorry for the delay.

        Old Territory

While walking through the forest behind Norm, I thought we were going to walk back to base, even though I knew it was too far to make it there by morning. So when we made it into a small clearing where a Samson was waiting for us, I have to admit I was a little surprised. I knew a lot of the aircraft from when the base had been full had been left behind, but I couldn't remember any pilots being left behind – no one other than Trudy. And she was dead.

    I guess Norm...

A few days later, more scientist came along and joined the program. Norm Spellman was a trainee trained to be an Avatar but Jake was a drop out marine. His identical brother was the trainee like Norm but was killed. Grace wasn't very pleased to see this at all. When Jake was introduced, she got mad.
"I know who you are but I don't need you, I need your brother that trained 6 years for this."

"He's dead. Im sorry this is a big inconvenience for you." Grace was ticked off. I tried to calm her down but once again, she doesn't listen to me when she's mad. She ran to the main room. I didn't feel like following her so I said hi to Jake.
"Hey im Brylah, im kinda like Grace's side kick on this whole operation." He shook my hand, "nice to meet you".
Grace came back so we could get back into our Avatar forms. We went out easy but Norm and Jake got in trouble.
