No, it doesn't. At first when she did it I thought is was symbolic; that it symbolized her turning a new leaf and kind of starting over. Like when Zuko and Iroh cut off their Firenation buns. But after the last episode, I question if the writers did it simply because of Korsammi, and to help emphasis their relationship. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right, whatever. Either way I still loved her old hair cut, and it will be missed.
I think her new haircut looked good when she was in Earth Kingdom clothes because it represented her new self, but in her Water Tribe clothes it made her look too muscular and boyish. This may not be a bad thing but I liked how her old hair was playful and made her look more feminine.
Eh.... her old look complimented her much better. I thought her new hair was a disaster. She and Opal literally looked identical in some scenes. The only difference between the two was the fact that they wore different types of clothing and have different colored eyes. Korra's new look lacked originality.
I agree with everything said above. The hair did make her look "boyish" and I think it had to do with Korrasami as well..... it seemed like they were going for the "Korra is the guy in the relationship" aspect, and that is totally not cool.
Btw, korra is so much prettier with her old hair. For some reason it's suits her personality when it's in ponytails. Short hair is just ugly and it does make her look older. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO CHOOSE ONE THING!!!!
