Avatar: The Legend of Korra Do you think the season finale was more focused on Makorra than the actual plot/stopping Amon?

The rest of the sentence, but it wasn't more than on the plot (Makorra was just included in mostly every other scene).

I say yes because 1. even the Amon fight scenes were dribbled with Makorra, 2. Most of the non-showdown scenes had some Makorra or references to it, and 3. Characters such as Iroh II, Asami, Bolin, Lin, and the airbenders hardly had any screen time, due to the amount of Makorra.

^This.

While the Amon issue was important and did get screen time, the whole Equalist movement wasn't given nearly as much depth as it could have- a lot of those Makorra vs. every other ship scenes could have been sacrificed for at least a little bit more information on the Equalist followers. They were mainly portrayed as masked people who shock the living daylights out of benders, we never got to see what completely drove them to do these things, we never saw the stronger examples of oppression. -Every other time Korra went to face Amon it was usually with just Mako while the others got shafted.

I wonder how you saved all those Makorra pictures without shooting someone in the knee. Or maybe you did?! I know, I would xD

Maybe it's just me, but after re-watching the show I thought that Amon's backstory was something of a cop out. I thought it was touching, but him being Tarrlok's brother seems somewhat lazy to me. Maybe because the whole "evil"-sibling thing has been done so many times before. Also, we never really got to know why Noatak turned into Amon. It was hinted a couple of times that he always believed in equality, but I think we are missing a very big and important part of his life; which is the transformation from Noatak to Amon. Besides, we only got to know Tarrlok's side of the whole story. It would have been interesting to see Amon's perspective of the whole issue. Oh, and it was never explained how exactly he was able to take bending away.

And as mentioned above, Makorra was shoved down our throats the whole time. They were in most of the scenes. Heck, the whole series finale was Makorra vs Amon. And while important things like the whole Equalist movement never got resolved, Makorra did.

Lol I just saved one and after uploading it chose the next and saved over the other. Finding them was the real task; for one thing I came across undelightful porn e.o and Asami hating pictures that made me want to throw my computer.

Most of what happened in the season finale was Makorra kicking us in the tush so hard. The plot, that being confronting Amon and the Equalists, still showed even the slightest of Makorra that is hard for me to ignore. Asami, Bolin, and General Iroh fighting the other Equalists? Got about less than ten minutes altogether. Amon and Tarlokk’s flashback that should have been given a huge light because it talks about what made Noatok the man Korra has to face? Given a fourth of time, but it could have been so much more if they tried to give less Makorra. Even the confrontation itself with Amon had small references to the couple in small ways that, again, are hard for me to miss because it’s there. If they focused less on making Makorra happen, they could have had more material to work with that could have made the episodes much better with more quality in the end.

there was makorra every time Mako and Korra were together. If they stopped focusing on freaking Makorra they could have shown how Noatok became Amon and how he can take away peoples bending away but no they had to focus on Makorra. Now I am mad because this is as frustraiting as what happened to Zuko's mom, how Amon can take away his bending and how he became Amon.

Oh yeah......I felt like the whole show was Makorra. Utterly ridiculous. Maybe because this couple was so bad and totally forced was the reason why this series sucked so much in general. This season was a huge disappointment in comparison with Avatar: The Last Airbender. This season shouldn't have been called Avatar: The Legend of Korra, it should have been called, Avatar: Korra and Mako screw everyone over for their ridiculous romance. That would have summed it up perfectly.

The fight vs Amon had a little Makorra in it but the MAIN IDEA WAS STOPPING AMON AND SAVING THE CITY ,yes there was a lot of Makorra in ep3 but so what there was a lot of Kataang moments during the ATLA books?! Was there any Makorra in ep6 the pro bending finales , or when they were stopping Hiroshi?!The only "Makorra moment" was when Mako picked up Korra when she was unconscious!Or when they were roaming the city , and yeah ep9 had how Mako cared about Korra and was worried about her but that's that? She wasn't thinking about him when she was kidnapped by Tarrlock? And so on! The only major Makkora was ep5 and the end!!!

Umm it's not called Legend of Makorra or Makkora a Tale of Love. I already explained how it was about Makorra, read what I wrote not going to say it again, especially not to someone I am pretty convince is being a jerk to me. And yes I'm serious. You're yelling at me for my opinion, are you serious? You don't own this club.

Wow, I really do think people don't pay attention at all. Amon was hardly even in the last episode, nothing was even done. Even Korra threw learning her air bending to the side to go after Mako. Then at the end miss perfect suddenly learned how to do it. All it had was Makorra thrown everywhere and then Korra learning nothing and just ridiculously getting her bnding back. NOTHING happened at all, this whole series was just fanservious for Zutara fans. It was a poorly made plotline. And all you people comparing it to Kataang, yeah no. It's not even close to being like it. Aang and Katara didn't even get serious until season three. It had little moments, like a normal relationship builds.

Seriously? Mako being the bad boy fire bender, getting the tempered water girl. Bolin the goofy guy and Asami the tough rich girl, used as shipping fuel for Makorra. Makorra fanservious threw the whole series, even during a fight, And the only reason Makorra is there is FOR Zutara. Plus you just have the fanservious for the Avatar series. All the characters that are sup post to be similer to the old ones. Iron just there to be for Zuko fans. Fanservious was used to much they couldn't even focus on the plot or character growth.

Oh and not to meantion, Korra and Mako being mister and miss perfect. Being able to do everything and getting everything. Mako being able to get out of Amon's blood bending, even though Aang couldn't without being in the Avatar state. And now going to be using blue fire. Korra randomly using air out of no where for Makorra and because she is again miss perfect. Oh and her getting her bending back without learning anything. I mean WTF was the point in her loosing it, if it was just going to be handed back to her on a silver platter?

Again, it's your opinion, the whole season was NOT fan-service IMO because you can just take out amon, the eqaulists (sp!) , Noatok/Tarlock, Tenzin, and I could go on and on.

Clearly you are missing the point big time. -_- Even those characters were half done to make room for Makorra! The fight with Amon had it, and even Tenzin's training had it! Even my little sister noticed that!

tsmith120 picked No, The plot was focused on a lot more than Makorra:
If you want to go over the episode and record the amount of time actually dedicated to the Makorra scenes, you will come up with a small percentage of the episode. Therefore, more focussed on the main plot.
People seem to assume that because Mako and Korra were in the fights at the end, their pairing and romance was too. That's not really how it works. Most of the time they were focussing on the task at hand than on the romance, again strongly suggesting that the primary focus was actually on the plot and not the romantic sub plot. And this is speaking as someone who wanted less romance and more major story; I am fully aware, however, that they gave more time to the main story and am not complaining that the writers wanted to include elements of romance in the story as well.
