Alright, so this past episode we got a clips episode and seeing the position that Bryke was put in by Nick, it's understandable that they went the avenue they did. So I'm not angry for them to have made a clip episode in order to make sure that their staff would stay. What I am and angry with however is the way they executed the episode.

This isn't just the last season of The Legend of Korra. This is the last season of the entire Avatar series as a whole. Alright so if you have to make a clip episode, why don't you include things from the original series too? Right now a lot of questions are being asked about the purpose of the Avatar. With the way technology is advancing and the way the nations are able to communicate with each other, is the Avatar really necessary? Isn't it time for the nations to be able to govern themselves. Do they really still need a spiritual babysitter to keep the world at balance anymore?

This clip episode could have really explored that. It could have used scenes about the other avatars like Kyoshi, Roku and Aang to help Korra understand her true purpose in this world. We really haven't gotten a bonding/teaching moment between her and Tenzin, and since he no doubt know the stories of all the past Avatars he could have shown Korra just how important the Avatar is. Or how important it isn't. Who knows it all depends on the way they decide to end the series.

But that's the thing, after 5 more episodes, we will most likely never be seeing this world or these characters ever again. Why not have done something novel and really connected the two series, made it really feel as though these two world are one and the same. Because as of now, I have to create a distinction between them in my mind. The spirits are too different, the bending, there really seems to be no overall story or message like the original series had.

The last 3rd of the episode was cute, I'll admit that. But is this really what they should have put out 5 episodes form the end? It was a rotten pair of apples, I know. But this was still an entirely different avenue they could have taken, and it would have been something that would emotionally resonate. I doubt I will remember this episode 3 days from now. But a grand arching monologue about the value of the avatar, and place of her in the universe in general? Yeah I think that might have stuck a bit more, especially if we got to see characters from the original series. The way it is now, does Korra even know one thing about the avatars before Aang? Does anyone who hasn't watch the original series? How can they claim to be the same worlds when there's no spiritual bridge between them?

It is well known that the show's creators based each bending style on an existing martial art. Waterbending was based off link, Earthbenders off link, for the most part, Firebenders off link and Airbenders link.

While ATLA focused on mastering these fighting styles in a physical sense that is only on single facet of the training that goes into becoming a master of the martial arts. Body is the easiest. Mind was covered though the opening of the link, a real concept featured in tantric and yogic traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism. If we assume that the writers put as much study and research...

With everything going on in this spot I kind of wanted to say a little something nice about the 4 main characters. While yeah it was harder for me to talk nicely about some characters I decided to dig deep and give it a try.

Part 1; What I Like about Each Character
Sato

Easy one first; I love Sato because she's sweet and kind no matter what. Despite being cheated on and lied to she stuck with the team and didn't turn to the dark side as part of some petty vengeance scheme. I love how she was generous in funding the Fireferrets and allowed them to stay in her mansion. I also admire her bravery...

Korra and Mako stop kissing and both let go of their lips. Korra is finally happy to finally have the guy she had loved for so long. Mako is also happy to finally

realize that Korra was really the one for him. Meanwhile inside the pro bending match. Asami saw Bolin holding pink flowers.

"Who are those for?" Asami asked.

"There for Korra. I had fun on my date with her. So I thought I should give her flowers" Bolin said with a smile. Asami had a frown on her face.

"Bolin i'm sorry but I think Korra and Mako just got together. He just broke up with me and.... but Bolin cut her off.

"WHAT! She's...

I was reading zanhar1's article link and one thing she said really popped out at me. Here's the quote:

"The main reason as to why I think TLOK gets so much hate is because ATLA was such a great show that by comparison, Korra just doesn't stand a chance. I mean Avatar was a masterpiece with unbeatable and lovable characters (to the point where one can even love the character they hated to some degree!) and a wicked plot. With that in mind I think people set their standards too high. They were expecting something that would blow Avatar away or at least match up with the show. And when Korra was...

The next morning, Korra spent her time with Pema and cleaning the house while her friends went into city. Korra didn't even acknowledge Mako at breakfast. Mako left with a guilty look on his face. Not only has he been lying to his girlfriend about his feelings for Korra and the kiss, he's been causing Korra pain and now has pushed her away. He just didn't know what to do. He fell for both girls. Each is special in their own way. Either one he chose he wouldn't be happy because there would be someone getting hurt, and Mako didn't want that.

Korra still has that stone look on her face. Pema has...
