When was the first time you've seen/heard of Gorillaz?

Me: in School a goth/punk rock girl(who I had a crush on) put Clint Eastwood on and I feel in love with them to this very day.

My brother heard about them and showed me Clint Eastwood, 19-2000, Feel Good Inc, and DARE, and mentioned to me that the characters in the videos actually had backstories and stuff, so I got hooked and indulged myself with Gorillaz lore.
