Sadest Anime Scene?

For me there were a lot of sad anime scenes I can think of but the saddest me was Hughes' passing in FMA/FMA Brotherhood..such a kind and caring man passing away in a telephone booth.

Ace death from One Piece saddest anime scene to me

The saddest scene to me have to be in Fairy Tail the Movie: Priestess of the Phoenix. The ending was sooo sad, I almost cried my ass out.
The NaLu moment was sooo sweet, and adorable... <3

mine is K,it was so sad at the endin,mikoto died!!why!!and shiro is dead too!but i dont know if shiro is still alive,hes immortal!

AIR TV- Misuzu Kamio's death.

This scene always makes me cry.
Everytime I hear "Aozora" by LIA, I remember all the emotions I felt at this scene and end up sobbing halfway through it.

NOTE: This scene is in the English dub because, though I will admit the sub was better and had my favorite female seiyū, Tomoko Kawakami, as Misuzu, this scene gets to me more in the English dub. It might be Haruko's scream when she's holding Misuzu in her arms that brings me to my over sobbing point.

My second saddest scene in an anime is the same as yours. No matter what the character has done, when they sacrifice themselves to end a never ending tragedy always gets to me. (Other examples include Madoka Kaname's and Kyouko Sakura's sacrifices in Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica and Lucy/Nyuu/Kaede from Elfen Lied).
