BLACK VEIL BRIDES’ ANDY BIERSACK: “WE’VE ADDED MORE SPICE…” 

Where are Black Veil Brides up to with that new album? Well...

“Well, we worked with [producer] John Feldmann again this time, trying to recapture the elements he helped bring out on ‘Wretched And Divine...’. We needed to do something larger than life again, with that sense of fun that our last record (‘Black Veil Brides’) was missing.

"It was important we made that album, and none of us dislike it, but it missed having a broad range of sound and instrumentation. I know that Jinxx (guitar, various instruments) particularly felt marginalised because he’d previously been able to showcase all his instrumental talents, and we’d put him back in the box a bit.

"This time we’ve added more spice, and everyone’s been able to spread their wings.”

SO IT’S GOING TO BE ANOTHER BIG, DRAMATIC RECORD?

“It’s a real combination of things, and generally heavier too – but not just for the sake of it.

"To me it’s just a Black Veil Brides album, and that’s awesome. We should know how to sound like ourselves at this point! I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved.”

“We started this record around the time of the initial Republican and Democratic election debates, with gun control being a huge issue and so many other things going on in America. A lot of that’s filtered through into my writing, even if it’s come out on a more metaphorical level.

"At the same time, I feel like it’s a series of letters I’ve written to myself, reflecting on the end of a dark period. I’ve been sober for about a year, and in that time every aspect of my life has changed for the better. With a clear mind I look back on all the stupid shit that I did, the dumb situations I put myself in.

"This is my opportunity to let out some emotion and process it all.”
