Fall of 2011 Part 3. “The bears are coming!”

Kate was sprinting off into the woods, while Humphrey was

following right behind her. They passed by the first

defensive position and stopped to face the menace. 12

Wolves were standing strong against the beast. They backed

it away, but then it charged the group. 8 wolves got away

and it was now chasing Kate, Humphrey, Hutch, and Garth.

They took a turn up the mountain to the second defensive

position. 14 wolves were waiting and formed a line when

the black blob approached. The beast slowed down and stood

its ground....

Note: This 'Life with' story takes place in Jasper, and Kahterine (Kate) is Kate's grandaughter.

The year is 2022 I've just compeeted testing with a new battle suit prototype on the moon. Now the firt field test of the suit was to be somewhere in the South Pacfic, but as the ship was reentering the atmosphere over what looked like Canada when we were hit by somthing and started to break up. I just got my helmet on and the ship blew up.

In the time I fell I remebered what the captin said to me "Daniel I need to warn you son that if something happens, go into exile we can let you or the suit...

I walked down the dimly lit hallway, the torch light glinting off my armour as it clanked softly. The door to the my quarters stood slightly ajar, and its guard dozing against the wall.
I cleared my throat and the guard came awake with a start.
"My Lord, I apologize it will nev-"
I waved a hand cutting him off, "I do not care for your ineptness, but I will let it go this time. See that it does not happen again."
"Yes, my Lord."
I walked through the door to the my quarters, wondering who had drugged the guard. The smell coming off his breath was a the smell of a small plant that grows around here....
