the rain bounced off my visor and mk.6 armor some of the water bounced into my breather and woke me up the pelican i had been traveling in was about 30 kilometers away i cough`ed and walk`ed to the pelican and pick`ed up my assault rifle. the wet swampy waters had flooded the pelican and swept away most of the amuninition i heard a scream and ran to the sight of a marine being interrogated by a brute i grabbe`d the sniper from the top of the pelican`s gun rack i fire`d and the brutes head explode`d into atleast 7 different pieces the marine fell to the ground i walke`d over to him and handed him my assault rifle he only fled in fear i found a dead civillian without any feet or eyes i just walked past. the city looked beautifal phantom drop ships peppered the skies and i threw a stone i found in the shallow lake waters i continued to walk towards the city finding dead marines and civilliansi noticed a dead mother with her possible son a tear slowly ran down my face and i removed my helmet and said"this is ...hell" i threw my fist in the air thinking of the unsc`s victories, and how theres no turning back. another tear ran down my face and i pulled a note from my wife out of my magnum holster and kissed it i dropped a small shilling from earth year 2012 into the waters and dropped my helmet and fell to the ground as i9 whatched the city slowly being glassed "you always think about that one night that last day you sawe your family those things you coldve done its a sad world i said silently and tucked the note back into my holster
