The evening had begun now, kicked off with a symphony of howling from every other member in the pack. Just opposite of that, Eight stood and stared in silence into a pair of ice blue eyes. Not because he wanted to be silent, there were so many things he wanted to say, so many thoughts racing through his mind.
But a that moment, a simple request kept them inside.
It echoed through his mind in with the other thoughts and questions he had, all the things he wanted to say or ask doubled around over and over and between each thought was those words.

He hadn't been there for 15 minutes and yet, all she wanted was for him to howl with her.

She turned away from him with a smile, looking behind for a moment as she paced to the cliff edge and looked out, waiting for him to join her.
After the initial shock wore thin and the racing visions in his mind were all but stowed, he happily obliged her.

When he joined her, she looked to him, and then just past him, motioning to the moon.
"Its beautiful, isn't it."
Eight didn't think, didn't look, he simply lost himself in her gleaming eyes.
"Yeah..." He whispered, "Beautiful..."
She looked back at him and blushed, lowering her gaze and hiding her face a little for a brief second when she realized that he wasn't talking about the moon. She picked her head back up, looking into his eyes again.
They stared at each other, her glow now even more noticeable. The howls in the back only intensified and took over the night.

Lilac lowered her head in silence, closed her eyes and came back up with a full breath. She tilted back her head, letting her voice begin to ring out. It was lower at first, but it got stronger. And the stronger it got, the more Eight's heart thumped in his chest. And it did so until the point where his mind raced again, ever so briefly, each thought cutting each other off,

'what should-'
'but how do I-'
'when does it all-'
'how will I know-'

This went on for only a second before he lost himself in her beauty, he lost himself in the moment.
He couldn't hold it in any longer as he found himself, almost without trying, without knowledge, howling along with her.

His head tilted back, his eyes closed and the only sound in his ears were that of Lilac's beautiful and soft voice mixing with his in the night sky. Their howling mingled with one another, mixed and wrapped, harmonized in a concert of beauty and feeling. Her howl balanced his own, and likewise, his own voice meshed with hers and they positively danced through the night's sky.

By the time they wrapped up their private session and stared into each others eyes, the entire night had grown silent. The other howls had stopped now, leaving theirs to ring through the thick night air alone. The two noticed but paid little mind to it, they were lost to one another. Breathless, hearts pounding in their chests as they lost themselves, and found each other.

"That was..." Eight began forming a sentence, struggling for words. But he didn't need to. He may have wanted to at first if only to break the silence, but that feeling of want quickly took a back seat as Lilac relieved the distance between the pair, nuzzling up to his chest, just under his chin. She pressed her body into his as though trying to hang on to him by simply being close, or though she had lost him and was afraid to never see him again.
And Eight found himself doing the same, though he couldn't explain it. The feeling in his chest intensified, and he moved a paw around her, squeezing her tightly.




The two stayed there, embraced, in love, for what seemed like an eternity. The world melted away and the two shared the night now, alone, with the moon.
