Thought you might like to read the following:
Two short years ago

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen

1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a
gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity
value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);

Most people on this website know that I am a fervent Barack Obama supporter, so needless to say that I was pleased with his landslide victory this evening. But that's not what this article is about. I am not going to go on and on about how happy I am that Obama won, or what I think that means for this country. Instead, I am going to remember the ride that we took to get here, take a look at some popular (or unpopular) propositions in Washington and California, and comment on the speeches delivered by both Barack Obama and John McCain on election night.

Hi, my name is Carly. If you don't know me, I'm a very political person. I just wanted to do my little bit on Fanpop and publish my own PSA on why you need to vote in the upcoming election.

If you turn eighteen years old on November 4th, 2008, then you better be celebrating your birthday in your assigned polling place, or at least have sent in your absentee ballot by then. By now, everyone should have registered to vote. Most states no longer allow any further alterations to their registration information for this election. Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told back in February to leave Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terrorist attacks.
