Betrayal
(Part 1)
New York City
June 14, 00:00 EST
The silhouette of the female figure landed in the dimly lit warehouse. She snuck along the edge of the wall before cautiously walking out into the open.
The hairs on her neck tingled and she spun around, blocking her attacker's sword with her gauntlets. She pushed him off and pulled out her own sword, flipping backwards onto a rafter and pointing her sword at where her opponent had been several seconds before. But her opponent was gone.
The female ducked to the side as darts whistled past her. She jumped off of the rafters and tossed a grenade up. It exploded, sending electric arcs along the rafters. The blue sparking lit up the green robes of her opponent. The male silhouette quickly jumped down and threw daggers at her. She dodged to the side and ran, low to the ground, towards her opponent before jumping up above his head and bringing down her sword. The male stumbled back, his sword clattering to the ground. The female put hers at his neck.
"Very well," the male said. Lights slowly flicked on up and down the warehouse. Ra's Al Ghul took off his helmet. "Apprentice."
"Master," the blonde replied, kneeling before the leader of the League of Shadows.
"I still think I could've beat her." A voice said from the other side of the room. Ra's looked at Deathstroke.
"I highly doubt it."
"Maybe next time, I'll be the one to take you out." Deathstroke growled.
"You are under my command—"
"A command you don't enforce very well, old man." Deathstroke interrupted, narrowing his eyes on the last two words. Ra's growled and leaped at Deathstroke, who was caught unawares, like an animal, pouncing on him and placing daggers at the assassin's neck.
"You're lucky Vandall Savage wants you." Ra's growled, digging the daggers in deeper. "Or I'd gut you right here."
"Indeed." A third voice said. Vandall Savage emerged from the darkness. "Please, take a seat assassins. Let me introduce you to your contractors." Vandall turned to the shadows. "Come on, step into the Light."
One by one, Vandall Savage, Lex Luthor, Ra's Al Ghul, Black Manta, the Brain, Klarion, and Queen Bee sat down at a table.
"Isn't bringing all of you here, into one place, risky? Especially considering who is in town?"
"Superman, Batman, and Red Revenge will learn nothing of our being here." Ra's said.
"Indeed, it is ironic we plan the deaths of our greatest enemies, two blocks away."
"Superman will be no problem." Deathstroke said. "Not with Metallo anyway."
"Batman is mine." Ra's said.
"I believe that leaves our dear Holly to take out Red Revenge." Vandall said, turning to the blonde.
"My pleasure." Holly Green said with an almost demonic smile.
"Very well, let us depart before we are discovered." Vandall said, standing up.
"Should she succeed on this mission, I believe a reward will be in place for our most valued assassin."
Deathstroke glared.
"Yes. Only when Red Revenge is dead, can Holly enter…the Light."

"How many "p"s in therapist?"
"One, Loius."
"Thanks, Smallville!"
"Y'know, Lois, maybe we could go to dinner after work?"
"Doubt it, I've got to finish this story on Grant's illegal arms dealing.
"I highly doubt Grant is dealing arms."
"That's Mr. Grant." A new voice said. Lois spun to see Samuel Grant and Bruce Wayne standing in the doorway of her cubicle.
"Ah!" Lois said, hiding the document. "Nice to see you Mr. Wayne, Mr. Grant."
"If you want a quote," Sam said, shoving his hands in his pockets. "You can tell that sorry piece of trash up in Washington that he knows where he can shove it."
Bruce and Clark's eyes widened in surprise while Lois was trying to hide a laugh. She turned around and placed her hands on the keyboard. "Can I quote you on that?"
"No," Bruce cut in before Sam could say anything. "I think it would be best if you left that out."
Lois laughed. "I've missed you Bruce."
"Lois!" a scratchy voice yelled. Sam slipped into Clark's cubicle as Perry White ran up. "Cancel that Grant story! We don't want to upset the new boss!"
"New boss?" Lois asked, looking at Bruce.
"Err.. Co-boss." Bruce said, rubbing the back of his neck with his copy of the Daily Planet.
"Are you listening Lane?! Delete it before he finds out!"
"I take it you like Mr. Grant?" Lois asked, hitting the save button.
"No! He's an egotistical piece of garbage who's standing right behind me, isn't he?"
"As I believe Clark would say," Sam said. "Err.. right Mr. White. Err.. Exactly right."
Clark growled and Perry hid his face in his hand as Bruce, Sam, and Lois laughed.
"Don't worry Mr. White." Sam said, placing his hand on his shoulder. "Publish it if you want, but like everything else here, I want pure facts, not opinions."
Lois whistled.
"Err…Right Mr. Grant."

"Mr. Grant?"
"Yes, Hillary." Sam said, looking up from his paperwork Wayne had left him.
"Your girlfriend is here to see you."
"Let her in." Sam sighed.
Holly walked into the office in a jade dress that seemed to sparkle. Sam noted it fit the necklace he had given her quite perfectly.
"So," she said seductively, walking across the spacious room and up the few steps that lead to Grant's desk. "Are you still taking me to dinner?"
"I've really got to secure this deal with Wayne on co-owning the Daily—aah."
Holly grinned and kept massaging his shoulders. "I'm in the mood for Italian."
"Five minutes, babe." Sam said, folding up the document.
"What's going to take you five minutes?"
Sam hit a button and disabled the cameras. He stood up and walked over to the picture of the world hanging on his wall. He pressed the capital of Bialya and a door opened. Sam entered and laid the paperwork on the desk inside the vault.
"That was supposed to take five minutes?"
"No," Sam said, walking towards Holly. "This is." He pulled her into a kiss, placing a hand on the back of her head and pulling her close to him. She placed her hands on his chest and the two stood that way for a minute.
"We're not going to get a spot if we don't hurry." Holly whispered gently as they broke the kiss.
"I own the restaurant. We will always get a spot." Sam grinned.

The Batwing rolled to the side as more missiles and bullets streaked at it. The flying man-bats behind Batman had certainly been upgraded. They knew how to shoot.
"Batman to Justice League! I am under attack by League of Shadow forces! Require immediate back-up!"
"Captain Adams to Batman, the Justice League is unavailable at the current moment. Most of us are off-world working on the bio-dome on Mars. Superman is in Metropolis, Nightwing is with the Team, the rest of us are needed up here to deal with a malfunction on the computers."
"What about Revenge?"
"He's not responding."

Holly leaned down, kissing Sam again. Sam inched further back in his reclined position. Holly grinned devilishly and threw her other leg over his thigh so she was sitting on his lap. She straddled him and Sam let out a moan of pleasure.
Holly grinned again and flicked the comm off the table as Batman yelled through it, trying to get Revenge's attention. Holly sat up and pulled Sam's shirt off, placing her hands on his chest as she wrapped her legs tightly around his waist. Sam grunted again and placed a hand on her lower back, pulling her towards him, kissing her. He wrapped one hand in her long, blonde hair, kissing her passionately.
Holly grinned and sat up again, allowing Sam to push her jacket off. She leaned back down and her hand moved down her thigh, down her leg to her boot. Sam grinned and went to kiss her again when he gasped. Something cold was pressing against his skin. Sam gasped again. Something sharp.
"H-Holly—"
"Shh," the blonde replied, twisting her hand sharply. Sam gasped and groaned again, his eyes and mouth wide with shock. Holly continued to lick his ear-lobe for a minute before kissing him on the lips and climbing off of him, leaving the dagger embedded in his stomach.
"Batman to Superman." Batman turned a corner sharply, veering towards Metropolis. "I've got a big load of Shadows following me along with Ra's Al Ghul. I need your backup."
"Batman-!" Superman grunted from the other end of the line.
"Superman? What's going on?!"
"Met-Metallo!"
Batman's eyes widened in surprise. "Batman to Justice League! Recall all League Units! This is a trap!" Nothing but static. "Batman to Justice League! Come in! Priority Alpha!"
"Damn it!"
Deathstroke grinned and pulled out his sword. It gleamed green in the night air. "While Metallo was slightly reluctant—" Deathstroke said, feeling his blade before pointing it at Superman. "He gave up a piece of his kryptonite heart to have melted into my blade."
Deathstroke lifted up Superman's hair, forcing the Man of Steel to look at his soon-to-be-killer. "Specifically for me to kill you."
"Back off!" a new voice yelled. Superboy leaped at Metallo, slamming into him with his feet and knocking him backwards. Robin ran up and tossed a birdarang at Deathstroke. It imbedded itself in the blade and detonated sending the assassin reeling backwards.
"Alpha Squad! Move!" Robin yelled. Wondergirl and Blue Beetle flew after Metallo while Superboy lunged at Deathstroke. Robin ran over to Superman. "Are you okay?"
"Fine." Superman grunted. "Batman—"
"We already have a squad heading his way."
Batgirl, Tigress, and the Dark Knight himself leaped at the terrorists. Batgirl hit three with batarangs and a fourth one with her foot. Tigress grabbed two men's heads with her feet and slammed them into one another. Batman himself was locked in a deadly fight with the head of the serpent: Ra's Al Ghul.
"Let's move!" Batgirl said, leaping into the air and dropping smoke bombs onto the terrorists. They coughed and Helena jumped onto her bike. She revved the engine and flipped a guard over the front wheel before charging at the terrorists. She plowed through them.
"That," she said, flipping the whites of her domino mask up. "Are why you look both ways before crossing Batman."
Vandall Savage looked at the screens before him.
"And like little dominos, they all fall."
The door opened and Vandall turned. Holly strode into the warehouse. "Revenge is dead." She said.
"The kissing at the end was a bit excessive." Vandall said, pressing a button to pull up a feed of Sam's death.
"I like to play with my toys." She said simply.
Vandal Savage sighed. "Batman and Superman have failed, but we have our main target. Red Revenge is dead." The caveman pulled up a computer and typed something in. "Fall back, Alpha Dog is down."
In a moment, Ra's Al Ghul, Metallo, and a very beaten up Deathstoke fell into the warehouse.
"How is it you never take a scratch?!" Deathstroke demanded.
"All my kill required," Holly said, checking her fingernails. "Was a woman's touch."
Deathstroke growled.
"Now," Vandall said. "We move onto Phase 2."

Revenge started towards the Bat-Wing, but Batman turned and held up a hand.
"Clark, go. I'll be there in a minute." the Dark Knight said. Superman nodded and walked aboard' one hand on Kara's shoulder.
"You can't come." Batman stated plainly.
"Why not?!" Revenge demanded.
"Because you're pushing Clark's temper and Wonder Woman forbade you from ever visiting Themyscira after leading Wondergirl into a trap."
"Clark's temper?" Revenge asked incredulously.
"The girl likes you too much."
"Of course she likes me." Revenge smirked.
"Exactly, and you're having a bad influence on her. Clark wants you to stay here. I personally think she needs someone like you right now, but Clark says no and he is her cousin."
"Alright, I'll stay here with Alfred."
"Don't ask for too many sweets." Batman warned.
"Why would I ever do such a thing?" Revenge asked, mocking shock.
Batman smirked and boarded the Batwing.
"Yo Alfred!" Revenge called. "Cookies!"
