I'm open-minded to constructive criticism and ignore hate comments.

For the most part, I think. There are always people who will say they're "critiquing" when it's really just something they don't like. I've had comments like "If it weren't a vampire story, it would be good". Well, I told you it was a vampire story. If you don't like them, why did you volunteer to read it?

If they’re respectful or if they’re genuinely helpful, I like it. I’m used to critiques from taking creative writing classes; basically all we did in there was workshop each other’s work.

That said, most of the time when I write fanfics or fanvids, I’m not really looking for critiques. I write/make those for fun only, I don’t really edit them and I just write/make them to get the idea out of my head, so chances are there are problems that I just don’t care enough to fix. Still, if it’s respectful critique I’ll listen. If it’s just someone screaming at me because they didn’t like my choices, I won’t.

I got the funniest hate comment on a GoT fanfic I wrote recently. He wrote me a 3 paragraph comment of why my fic was bad and like half of it was in caps. Honestly he made some good points but I couldn’t take it seriously because of how it was worded, and all the caps

^^ Agreed. This happens a lot with fics and shipping. Like if you know you hate the pair then why are you reading? Or like if it's a NSFW story and the person gets mad that it has some naughty stuff lol. Like I'd what they were expecting!

As long as they have valid points it can help and even inspire for some new ideas.

Karoii-chan picked Not really:
I'm quite sensitive to negativity about my writing. I don't handle it well and I often ditch writing for long periods of time if I'm told that I didn't perform well enough.
