If writing is something you want to pursue, whether personally or professionally, then yes. To become good at writing, you must read and notice the author's style. This is the only way I've improved in my writing. If I had never read as much as I did, I would not have improved my writing to the point it is at today. As they say, it is important to read as much as you write.
Of course, you can always have someone read and critique your work; however, you won't gain the same amount of knowledge this way, nor as fast. If reading isn't something you're into, then I suggest finding books that will really interest you. Think of genres you like and look up some popular novels on it.
If you want even more help, think of what fan fictions you might be interested in and read some. Don't just read them, though, mentally critique them. Critiquing other's works will help you critique your own.
