Who is Mary Sue, you ask?

She is a pest, a scourge, a CURSE upon the world of fiction; a dull, cliche character who mostly invades the fan fiction universe (especially in fandoms like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter), but can also be found in original work, TV shows, books, movies, etc. In fan fiction, she's usually the fangirl's way of inserting herself in the story and pairing herself up with the cutest/hottest character. This infamous evil can be identified by the following traits:

1: She is stunningly/unusually beautiful. Oh she may deny it, claiming to be a "plain Jane" and modestly deflecting...

A superhero is a fictional character with special powers.Since the first Superman story was written in the USA in 1938,superheroes have appeared in various comic books around the world. But more recently they have become better known as film characters.

Although superhero powers vary widely, superhuman strength and the ability to fly are common. Some superheroes do not have special powers but have developed other important abilities. In order to protect friends and family,a superhero's identity is normally kept secret, which often means superheroes have complicated double life.

There have been successful...

Not long ago people believed that in the future we would work less, have more free time, and be more relaxed. But sadly this has not happened.Today we work harder, work longer hours, and are more stressed than 10 years ago.We walk faster, talk faster, and sleep less than previous generations. And although we are obsessed with machines which save us time,we have less free time than our parents and grandparents had.But what is this doing to our health? An American journalist James Gleick in a new book,Faster:the acceleration of just about everything, says that people who live in cities are suffering from...

Here are some more texts from people.
1.Writing and then sending a funny e-mail or text message to my friends. And of course, imagining their faces when they read it.

2.I really like driving at night when there's no traffic, listening to my favourite music.I feel completely free.

3.Staying in bed on Sunday morning and reading the newspaper. Then getting up very late and having my dog for a walk.

4.I enjoy going to the jym and really getting tired then taking a long hot shower followed by a nice hot cup of tea. There's nothing better.

5.Turning off my computer at the end of the day.Leaving work, and getting into my car to go home! It's the best moment of the day.I love it!
I work for a magazine, which was doing an article about British language learners. As an experiment, they asked me to learn a completely new language for one month. Then I had to go to the country and do some"tests"to see if I could"survive"in different situations.I decided to learn Polish because my great-grandmother was Polish and I have some relatives there.I can already speak French and Spanish quite well but Polish isn't a latin-based language so I knew it would be completely different.

I did a one-month intensive course at a language school in Birmingham.I thought I was good at languages before...

Chapter [#2]

Narrators POV

An old man in a cloak walked into the neighborhood in which Olivia lived. Everyone stared at him as he walked around.

Olivia's POV

I smiled brightly as I dived into the ocean, "wait up!!!" Oliver laughed as my five brothers ran after me with surfboards, buggy boards, buckets for picking up sea shells, and dad brought out our special maid sandcastle buckets. They were big and made the best structures ever!!! Plus our family is known for our sand castles/structures. I smiled and dived down, feeling the salty cold water against my skin, it's the best feeling ever. When...

Write hard and clear about what hurts.
-Ernest Hemingway

There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.
-Ernest Hemingway

Everybody walks past a thousand story ideas every day. The good writers are the ones who see five or six of them. Most people don’t see any.
-Orson Scott Card

For me, writing is exploration; and most of the time, I’m surprised where the journey takes me.
-Jack Dann

The hardest thing about writing is writing.

James.
James.
Authors Note: A little something from my wandering mind tonight. I'll warn u this is a bit sad, but I think you all will like this one very much. Enjoy.

He was angry. He was exhausted. His heart pounded against his chest with pulsating curses on her. On Olivia. James lept up from the hardwood floors and began to wipe his eyes. The vestige of tears still stung on his cheeks. What had he done wrong? What had he missed? How could he fix it? Those questions would soon be erased from his mind and replaced with the real question: Why didn't she ever say she loved him?

James had been waiting for eight...

When You Have To Choose Between 2 Possibilities:

1.Take your time. The most important thing is not to make a decision in a hurry.

2.Make a list of the positive and negative points for both opinions. Then decide which points are most important and compare the two lists.

3.If you ask other people for their advice, don't ask more than 1 or 2.If you ask a lot of people, this will probably confuse you.

4.Use your imagination to help you.Imagine yourself in both situations. How do you feel?Relaxed or stressed?

5.When you've made a decision, wait a bit before you tell other people,to see how you feel.If you feel comfortable with your decision after an hour, you have probably made the right decision.

6.Finally,remember that you can't have everything.Choosing one of two possibilities always means that you can't have the one you didn't choose. And it's impossible to always make the right decision!

We make them and we break them, because some promises are very hard to keep. Here are the top six most common broken promises...

1."I'll come back tomorrow"
You always hear this from builders, plumbers, and electricians. But the truth is very different. They won't come back until next week(or later). And you will probably need to phone them 5 times first.

2."I won't tell anyone"
We love hearing secrets and we happily make this promise. And at the time we really mean it.'Don't worry,'we say,'your secret is safe with me.'But of course it isn't.Research shows that everybody will always tell one other person...
