Wordgirl Question

What decade does this show take place in?

To me it's pretty clearly set sometime in the 20th century, but I can't figure out what decade. For a while I thought it was the 1990s but now I'm wondering if its the 1980s. I'm basing my guesses on the clothes from flashbacks in the show, like Wordgirl's origin story and that flash back about the Masked Bagger, ect. Any thoughts? I'm trying to do a fan fiction and knowing the decade is important and could alter the entire story :( so please help if you can thanks! <3 :)

I'd say 1990's because in Tiny Big, he released a CD album, and CD's weren't around in the 80's. Also, in one episode, Becky Botsford played a Pretty Princess video game and it kind of looked like a nintendo 64 game. In Tobey or Consequences, wordgirl has a cell phone which doesn't look like a 1980's cell phone. Also, in the episode Chuck E. Sneeze, there's a scene where the grocery store manager says " By buying hand sanitizer", and hand sanitizer didn't become availible to buy for the common consumer until 1997.
