Voltron happens to be a show where i like, or at worst am neutral, about all the characters. But I'd like to share my favorites!
Number 8: Acxa
A very competent, loyal general. But she also knows when to not let herself be taken advantage of (Lotor thinking he could just axe a buddy with no explanation and still deserve 100% loyalty). A level headed friend makes her very likable to me.
Number 7: Hunk
Someone who will go to the ends of the earths for his friends... even if he can't promise not to grumble all the way. I really relate to his dry pragmatism, honest fear, and ability to sympathize with so many different people.
Strong, realistic, smart, and candid, I really hope Hunk gets some more recognition.
Number 6: Lotor
Cruel and calculating in his quest for knowledge and power under the guise of seeking a benevolent rein, lotor seems to be a...interesting character to discuss. Mostly on tumblr because OH BOY THAT'S WHERE THE DISCOURSE LIVES. I mostly find Lotor interesting because he's a villain where if he can afford to be kind he will be, as opposed to villains who if they don't have to be jerkwads they will be jerkwads anyway just to show you they can. But this sympathetic quality will not get priority if people are standing between him and his goal, or even people who offend his authority. He also has no problem manipulating people for his own gain. There's a lot of views on Lotor but I think the discourse he started is also interesting. (but miss me with the bad childhood headcanon, he did not, at worst they were not too attentive and his butt started plotting in the crib)
Number 5:Haggar/Honerva
The mad scientist whose ambition devoured her, like dang does Haggar have presence. Every season just reveals how hauntingly human this villain is while still portraying her as the powerful in charge ambitious woman she is. I love seeing her every time she's on screen, mesmerized by her unwavering ability to move forward past the constant reminders of where she began.
Number 4: Coran
I feel like even though he can be and is silly comic relief there's a lot to appreciate about how he is always there for the paladins when they're down in the dumps. He's energetic, supportive and cares so much about the paladins and Allura. He's gone through a lot and yet does his best to listen to the worries of the paladins while keeping the mood up high.
Number 3: Pidge/Katie
I love her wit, hardiness, and willingness to go to the ends of the earth for the ones she loves. I love seeing her let people into her "circle of people she cares about" because due to her prickly goal oriented ways she tends to push people out of her way so she can save her family. But she learns the value in being with the friends who are right there at the moment.
Number 2: Allura
Allura is my favorite space princess! She's sweet and tough, but maybe too tough? She sacrificed and suffers so much yet refuses to show that side of her to her friends so they can be there for her. I think a lot of people undermine Allura's willing to sacrifice herself to the point she nearly dies multiple times. She's also has moments when she's so sweet and has fun and just !! She just always puts her own needs on the back burner in her fervent desire to help as many people as she can.

Shiro is the leader of the paladins and his overwhelming kindness despite so much pain he goes through is just touching. He deals with so much physical and mental pain yet manages to still be supportive of the paladins. He's also a good leader with respect for the Alteans and does his utmost to work with others even though he does have his limits (Slav XD). He puts others before himself so I hope that in the future the paladins can be there for him. (not that they haven't been respectful of his PTSD).
