The Atlantic City Ballet is kicking its Fall Season into high-gear with a bone-chilling performance of Dracula, the ballet, at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center in NYC Saturday, October 23 at 8pm.

Dracula is Atlantic City Ballet’s signature, heart-stopping performance composed in three acts. Phyllis Papa creates a true thriller on the stage using high professional standards and compelling choreography.

It is a “sumptuous and exciting ...production,” said Ed Wismer, reviewer at Cape May Star and Wave.

The ballet is inspired by Bram Stoker’s story and takes place in 15th Century Eastern Europe. A young lawyer, Jonathan Harker, is captured and imprisoned by Dracula. After seeing a photograph of Jonathan’s fiancé’, Mina, Dracula goes to victimize her and her best friend, Lucy Westenra. Dr. Van Helsing then leads a crusade to free Mina and the world from Dracula. Papa’s poignant choreography presents this classic blood-sucking tale like never before.

Papa, artistic director for the 27- year-old company, said “It will be an exciting season with new works and new choreographers which will take the Company to a whole new level. It is very exciting to come back to New York. We are hoping to perform Bi- annually in the City in Fall and Spring.”

The international Company is truly diversified with professional dancers hailing from Spain, Italy, Latvia, Israel, Japan, Canada, Korea, Mexico and the United States.
