Chapter One
New house, new school. Different people, but same personalities as all the “cool people” at my old school. Don’t get me wrong, I liked my old school, and I liked the cool people because they were my” cool people” . These idiots won’t be my friends, you’ll see. You’ll all see.
But then again, I also haven’t given this place we’re moving to a chance. It’s because I know I won’t fit in. By the way, I’m Laurie. I’m sixteen and I’ve just moved from my home state of New York. More specifically, Manhattan, New York. I’m moving away from the only place I’ve ever known; and the famous city that never sleeps.
My Dad got a new job and is uprooting the whole family to North Carolina. The people there will have country accents and not want any thing to do with the no body from New York. Any way, my seventeen year old brother and I are livid about the whole thing. Nick, (my brother) had a girl friend back home and his “homies” were there too. Yes, my brother is a wigger, but I love him any way.
My brother is the only one that really gets me and he’s seriously my best friend. My parents said that I could get my nose pierced after we move, and both me and my brother have decided that I’m going to get my lip pierced, and he’s going to get his ears pierced. Any way like I said, Nick is my best friend and even I can’t say that his wigger friends weren’t amazing.
The thing is, friends like that are hard to find, and that’s in the city. We’re moving to the country. Where people have cows for pets and the people probably smell worse than the cows. This is my new home. The city girl, going to the country. Great. My mom must be thrilled to take us to this place because Nick won’t drug deal anydoor and carry my boxes in. I almost drop them and have to set them down on the table.
“Oh My God!” I breathe.
My room is amazing! I have a study before my room. In the study there’s a desk, and a leather bench. The walls are white. Behind some French doors is my room. I have an Ethan Allen bed; black head board with a dark blue comforter, my walls are blue and black stripped. I also have a walk-in closet that would make Mariah Carey jealous, and a bath room with a shower on one side, and a bath tub separate (of course a toilet and sink too).
But that’s not all, behind some black curtains and another set of French doors is a balcony with an Oscar worthy view of the coast. I can smell the ocean, and I can feel the puff of air and the gentle wind as it grazes my cheek.
“Yo!” My Brother says, announcing his arrival. “Dude, your room is the bomb! I guess they got us both nice rooms this time. Who are you gonna have break your bed with you since your boyfriend isn’t here?” Nick says.
“You’re such a dick, why’d you even have to bring that up?” I say.
“’Cuz you have broken your bed with one of your boyfriends before.” He says, “I liked him, he broke my bed too.” Nick says.
“What the fuck?!” I say.
“I’m just messin’ fam. Y’all know I kicked his ass when I found him fuckin you. How can some one even break a bed?” He says.
I fold my hands together and look at him.
“Well Nick, you see, when you find a nice boy and bring him home, you’ll find out how I broke my bed.” I say.
“What is you tryin to say?” Nick asks.
“You’ll become aware of it in the locker room when we start school.” I say. He lifts me up and throws me over his shoulder. He leans over the banister.
“Take it back of I drop you.” He says.
I scream. “I take it back!”
“Yo! She’s for sale, any body want her?” Nick says.
“You sick fucker! Put me down.” I scream again. He laughs and sets me on my feet. “Watch the door bell ring now.” I say.
“Chill. Just remember to never say that about me again, ya feel me?” Nick says.
“Whatever.” I say.
“You too! And your mom!” He says.
“We have the same mom.” I say.
“I know, she got a butt don’t she?” He says.
“Nick!!!” I shriek.
“I’m just messin.” He says. I purse my lips and roll my eyes.
“Ayee, do you need help unpacking or not?” He says.
“Sure.” I say. After unpacking practically all my stuff (and being ridiculed because Nick found my thongs) I fall asleep on my new bed and dream about my new town.
I’m in the hall at school, talking to some people, when this GORGEOUS guy shows up and says ‘You’re beautiful.’ I smile at him and say, ‘So are you.’ He kisses me then, and my mind goes to the both of us at the alter, Me in my dress, my hair curly. Him in a tux, his brown curly hair framing his face making him look like a God.

The moon is always full for us
The road is always clear
That's not what you want to hear
One is born so one can die
You must wait a real long time
That's more than you can bear
And the days will come and go
And the band will march alone
Till the day you cast a shadow
And it's nothing like your own
Rolling in on a burning tire
You're gonna set my house on fire
Just to show me that you were there
Flowers raised up like a snake
You will raise to leave me bait
And always, always take
And the days will come and go
And the band will march alone
Till the day you cast a shadow
And it's nothing like your own
The moon is always full for us
The road is always clear

That’s not what you want to hear
That’s not what you want to hear
It's all hats off now, all drum rolls and applause
By slight of the hand you will turn them into dust
A face to face you will lead them by the fall
A track fiend and the saw dust
You're allowed to stare it out
It’s all good luck charms
All trying to understand
Indeed inside me will always hope for worse
You say you keep them close by
They're closer than you think
A track fiend and the saw dust
You're allowed to stare it out
Next spring will bring you back again
You'll sigh and crack the whip for us
And maybe you will be the one
Who'll draw the line in the sand
For us to crawl
It's all past bats now
All painting gorgeous time
And maybe when the night comes
You'll open up the cage
You'll open up the cage
By slight of the hand you will turn them into dust
A face to face you will lead them by the fall

Situations are critical
You got to look first before you go
If you wasn’t too sure then now you know
The situations are critical
Wait, ok, you’ve got to look before you go
Wait, ok, you’ve got to look before you go
Deep into the darkness where I hide
The monsters are buried down deep inside
You never know when they’re satisfied
Buried down deep where the sun don’t shine
The monsters are buried down deep inside but
Wait, ok, you’ve got to look before you go
You’re wasting away, ok, you’ve got to look before you go
Deep into the darkness where I hide
Deep into the darkness where I hide
Wait, ok, you’ve got to look before you go
Oh wait, ok, you’ve got to look before you go
You’re wasting away, ok, you’ve got to look before you go
