Chapter 7! Hope you like it. Please comment!
The darkness surrounding me made me feel defenseless. I was still able to hear and feel the rain but defenseless all the same.
I heard sniffing than hot breath on my skin. The next thing I heard surprised me the most. It was a soft gentle wine. Than it disappeared altogether I know I should be feeling scarred out of my wits right but I wasn’t. I felt calm oddly and … safe.
Next I heard footsteps great now that scares me.
“Alana can you hear me? You’re okay you’re safe now I’m going to get you out of here.” I was thankful to hear Ethan’s voice.
I felt his warm strong arms around me and that was all it took to make me feel complete. I could feel him carry me effortlessly through the woods. I tried to tell him I was sorry but it was no use my voice wouldn’t corporate. So I gave up. I desperately wanted to see his face but I was just going to have to forget about that. I felt so helpless. I deeply regretted leaving him there the way I did but my anxiety that I would be hurt by him was too great to ignore.
I got a flood of images from when I was little. Images I had long forgotten and never wanted to remember but needed to remember.
My mother and father standing in a big beautiful house they looked so sad. It was hard for me to remember but I was remembering all the same.
“They’re coming sweet heart.” My mother cried through tearless sobs. “There is nothing we can do this time. If we stay we will kill all of our loved ones including ourselves.”
“what if Alana were too…” She cut him off.
“Evan if Alana were too put both of her shields up it wouldn’t be enough. They will still find us. Besides it would just make her weaker and more prone to their threats.” She was sinking further and further into her despair.
My father was holding my mother tightly in his arms; as she rested her beautiful face into his chest he whispered into her ear. She quickly composed herself and turned to look at me.
The image faded and jumped to another memory.
This time my uncle was there.
“I will take good care of them don’t worry I know what to do. Move often enough so that people don’t get suspicious. Sneak animal blood to Alana when she blocks her memory and be aware. Anything I’ve seemed to have missed?” My uncle said stressed out now.
“Don’t forget to look for any signs of them.” My mother said broken hearted. “And to tell them I love them every day for me.”
I remember running to her and begging both of my parents not to go. They left me though but I was too young to make any sense of the situation. All of my memories were back. And it made sense now why I was so weak all the time. I kept a tight grip on how much I allow myself to remember.

when the thorn bush turns white that's when I'll come home
I am going out to see what I can sow
And I don't know where I'll go
And I don't know what I'll see
But I'll try not to bring it back home with me
Like the morning sun your eyes will follow me
As you watch me wander, curse the powers that be
Cause all I want is here and now but its already been and gone
Our intentions always last that bit too long
Far far away, no voices sounding, no one around me and
you're still there
Far far away, no choices passing, no time confounds me and you're still there
In the full moons light I listen to the stream
And in between the silence hear you calling me
But I don't know where I am and I don't trust who I've been
And If I come home how will I ever leave
when the thorn bush turns white that's when I'll come home
