I didn’t know what to do. I loved her so much I couldn’t lose her. I went up to my bedroom thinking of ways to get around this. How do make her remember me. I just wanted to have her in my arms one last time knowing who I am. Surely Carlisle could give her an operation or something. What was the last thing she remembered? Would she be staying in forks? I went downstairs. Everyone was still sat where they were sat when I left. “Carlisle what was the last thing Bella remembered?”
“She remembered being with her mum”
“Does that mean she’s going to go live with Renee in Jacksonville?”
“Well when we were at the hospital she wanted to go back home to Renee badly and it was distressing her. So I told Charlie he should probably call her to take Bella home. But since then I don’t know what has happened”
“I saw Charlie call Renee and she came down immediately. Then I saw them have an argument over the whole thing about Bella being engaged and not remembering Edward and how it had ruined her life. Charlie chased Renee to the airport as she had Bella but he lost them when they got on the plane because he didn’t have a ticket”
“I want her back”
“I know you do Edward. We all do”
“Carlisle can’t you give her an operation to make her remember”
“I’m sorry Edward. Her skull is so cracked I can’t mend it”
“This is my entire fault. If the argument never happened, if I never got up to attack her, if I went hunting before I saw her. None of this would have happened”
“Edward doesn’t blame it on you. It wasn’t your fault, it wasn’t anybody’s fault”
“I lost my fiancé because of me”
“No you didn’t Edward”
“Alice how come you didn’t see it happening?”
“I don’t know Edward. I saw you both have the argument, but I didn’t say about it because you didn’t look like you wanted to talk about it when you came in”
“I don’t get how you didn’t see”
“I know. That’s what I’m saying it wasn’t your fault it was mine. If I’d seen then it wouldn’t have happened”
“Alice! Don’t blame it on you”
“But it was my fault nobody else’s”
“Come on you guys it was nobody’s fault for what happened with Bella” Carlisle told us all
