I held on to his warm fur as he raced along side the river. My face was burried in his neck and the tears soaked through. My leg burned, like someone had poured some chemical they created in chemistry into my cuts.
I should have listed to him. Jacob told me to be careful around Paul but I didn't listen. I was too stubborn. One of the things I got from Bella.
Once we had stopped I climbed down off his back and sat up against a tree untill he was in human form again, but as soon as he was dressed I was right back in his arms.
"What happened to her?!" Mom came running out and took me from Jacob's warmth.
"Paul changed infront of her. He was pissed. I don't know what at, but when he did he got her leg." Jake was right behind Mom.
"Where is he now?" Dad growled. Clearly wondering where so he could tear him apart. I was his little girl and nothing, and I mean nothing happened to me.
"He ran off after he saw what he had done. So who knows." Jake ran his hands through his hair nervously. His hands were shaking but not from anger, more like fear.
Mom sat me down on the couch and proped my leg up. "It's going to heal quickly." Alice came running down the stairs. "There isn't even going to be a scar, so that means no stiches?" She looked at Carlisle as if she were looking for backup on her vision.
He wipped off my leg and examened it carefully before he nodded. "The laserations aren't deep. Alice is right, it will heal quickly without the need of stiches." He was gone and back before I could blink again with bandages to wrap my leg in. "But you can't get out of bed for a couple days or all the blood will flow down to your leg and it could cause minor blood loss."
I nodded and winced as he placed the clips on to keep bandage on. "I'm sorry, Jacob." I reached up and took his hand. "I should have listened to you."
He shook his head. "Don't apologize. I shouldn't have left you alone with him."
"You left her alone with him?!" Edward was at his side so fast it made me wonder if the others even saw him.
"Dude, you're killing my arm." Jake pulled away. "And I'm sorry for having to pee at such a bad time but sometimes you just have to."
"You could have used a tree." Rosalie insisted.
Jake's growl shook the house. "Okay, enough." I protested. "Can you guys not fight for one day?! All you two have ever done is fight!" I looked at Jacob. "Enough with the blonde jokes," and I looked over to Rose "and you enough with the Fido jokes. We all know you don't want to be in the situation you are now, and we know you two just want to be normal but that isn't going to happen!"
Everyone was silent and Dad placed his cold hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry, but you both just need to move on."
Jacob plopped down beside me and put his face in his hands. "I'm sorry." He mumbled.
"Me too." Rosalie sighed.
"Jake? Can you take me to my room?" I whispered.
He rose silently and took me in his arms. He walked through the trees and finally reached our cottage that Esme had fixed for Bella and Edward's wedding present.
He layed me down in my bed and started to walk away. "Stay." I said quickly. He stopped short at my door. "Please? I want you to lay with me."
He turned to look at me. His face had fallen and his eyes looked glazed over. "I shouldn' have left you alone. If I would have stayed for just two minutes you wouldn't be lying there, in pain, because of me." He walked over and nealed at my face. "It's my fault. Why do you still want me around you right now?"
I leaned up and kissed him softly. "Because it wasn't your fault. You didn't know it was going to happen and neither did I." He looked down but I brought his dark eyes to meet mine. "I don't blame you, Jacob."
"Edward does." He sighed.
I brought my hand up and slapped my bed. "Dad can get over it! He drives me crazy!" I rolled over and stared up at my celing. "I'm going to marry you ,Jacob Black." I turned my head to look at him. "And Dad is going to have to get over it."
He smiled slightly and crawled into the bed next to me. "You really want to marry me?" He asked as he took my hand.
"Of course. I already have our kid's names picked out." I smiled and looked at him.
He laughed his husky laugh and kissed me once more before I fell asleep totaly content in his amrs.

This scene is very revealing because we can see the bracelet that Jacob gave Bella plus the bite mark left by James and finally the ring, too.
Remember that this ring is very special because it belonged to Elizabeth Masen, the biological mother of Edward, so it has a lot of sentimental value.
The ring is gorgeous, with tons of diamonds. It shows the true love that Edward has for Bella, and that he wants to spend eternity with her.
Of course, the ring scene in the book and movie is one of the most romantic and emotional of the Twilight series.
