TWILIGHT - chapter 21 - PHONE CALL

I could feel it was too early again when I woke, and I knew I was getting the schedule of my days and nights slowly reversed. I lay in my bed and listened to the quiet voices of Alice and Jasper in the other room. That they were loud enough for me to hear at all was strange. I rolled till my feet touched the floor and then staggered to the living room.
The clock on the TV said it was just after two in the morning. Alice and Jasper were sitting together on the sofa, Alice sketching again while Jasper looked over her shoulder. They didn't look up when I entered, too engrossed in Alice's work.
I crept to Jasper's side to peek.
"Did she see something more?" I asked him quietly.
"Yes. Something brough him back to the room with the VCR, but it's light now."
I watched as Alice drew a square room with dark beams across its low ceiling. The walls were paneled in wood, a little too dark, out of date. The floor had a dark carpet with a pattern in it. There was a large window against the south wall, and an opening through the west wall led to the living room. One side of that enterance was stone - a large tan stone fireplace that was open to both rooms. The focus of the room from this perspective, the TV and VCR, balanced on a too-small wooden stand, were in the southwest corner of the room. And aged section sofa curved around in front of the TV, a round coffee table in front of it.
"The phone goes there," I whispered, pointing.
Two pairs of eternal eyes stared at me.
"That's my mother's house."
Alice was already off the couch, phone in hand, dialing. I stared at the precise rendering of my mother's family room. Uncharacteristically, Jasper slid closer to me. He lightly touched his hand to my shoulder, and the physical contact seemed to make his calming influence stronger. The panic stayed dull, unfocused.
Alice's lips were trembling with the speed of her words, the low buzzing impossible to decipher. I couldn't concentrate.
"Bella," Alice said. I looked at her numbly.
"Bella, Edward is coming to get you. He and Emmett and Carlisle are going to take you somewhere, to hide you for a while."
"Edward is coming?" The words were like a life vest, holding my head above the flood.
"Yes, he's catching the first flight out of Seattle. We'll meet him at the airport, and you'll leave with him."
"But, my mother... he came here for my mother, Alice!" Despite Jasper, the hysteria bubbled up in my voice.
"Jasper and I will stay till she's safe."
"I can't win, Alice. You can't guard everyone I know forever. Don't you see what he's doing? He's not tracking me at all. He'll find someone, he'll hurt someone I love.... Alice, I can't - "
"We'll catch him, Bella," she assured me.
"And what if you get hurt, Alice? Do you think that's okay with me? Do you tihnk it's only my human family he can hurt me with?"
Alice looked meaningfully at Jasper. A deep, heavy fog of lethargy washed over me, and my eyes closed without my permission. My mind struggled against the fog, realizing what was happening. I forced my eyes open and stood up, stepping away from Jasper's hand.
"I don't want to go back to sleep," I snapped.
I walked to my room and shut the door, slammed it really, so I could be free to go to pieces privately. This time Alice didn't follow me. For three and a half hours I stared at the wall, curled in a ball, rocking. My mind went around in circles, trying to come up with some way out of this nightmare. There was no escape, no reprieve. I could see only one possible end looming darkly in my future. The only question was how many other people would be hurt before I reached it.
The only solace, the only hope I had left, was knowing that I would see Edward soon. Maybe, if I could juts see his face again, I would be able to see the solution that eluded me now.
When the phone rang, I returned to the front room, a little ashamed of my behavior. I hoped I hadn't offended either of them, that they would know how grateful I was for the sacrifices they were making on my account.
Alice was talking as rapidly as ever, but what caught my attention was that, for the first time, Jasper was not in the room. I looked at the clock - it was five-thirty in the morning.
"They're just boearding their plane," Alice told me. "They'll land at nine-firty-five." Just a few more hours to keep breathing till he was here.
"Where's Jasper?"
"He went to check out."
"You aren't staying here?"
"No, we're relocating closer to your mother's house."
My stomach twisted uneasily at her words.
But the phone rang again, distracting me. She looked surprised, but I was already walk forward, reaching hopefully for the phone.
"Hello?" Alice asked. "No, she's right here." She held the phone out to me. Your mother, she mouthed.
"Hello?"
"Bella? Bella?" It was my mother's voice, in a familiar tone I had ehard a thousand times in my childhood, anytime I'd gotten too close to the edge of the sidewalk or strayed out of her sight in a crowded place. It was the sound of panic.
I sighed. I'd been expecting this, though I'd tried to make my message as unalarming as possible without lessening the urgency of it.
"Calm down, Mom," I said in my most soothing voice, walking slowly away from Alice. I wasn't sure if I could lie as convincingly with her eyes on me. "Everything is fine, okay? Just give me a minute and I'll explain everything, I promise."
I paused, surprised that she hadn't interrupted me yet.
"Mom?"
"Be careful not to say anything until I tell you to." The voice I heard now was as unfamiliar as it was unexpected. It was a man's tenor voice, a very pleasant, generic voice - the kind of voice that you heard in the background of luxury car commercials. He spoke very quickly.
"Now I don't need to hurt your mother, so please do exactly as I say, and she'll be fine." He paused for a minute while I listened in mute horror. "That's very good," he congratulated. "Now repeat after me, and do try to sound natural. Please say, 'No, Mom, stay where you are.'"
"No, Mom, stay where you are." My voice was barely more than a whisper.
"I can see this is going to be difficult." the voice was amused, still light and friendly. "Why don't you walk into another room now so your face doesn't ruin everything? There's no reason for your mother to suffer. As you're walking, please say, 'Mom, please listen to me.' Say it now."
"Mom please listen to me," my voice pleaded. I walked very slowly to the bedroom, feeling Alice's worried stare on my back. I shut the door behind me, trying to think clearly through the terror that gripped my brain.
"There now, are you alone? Just answer yes or no."
"Yes."
"But they can still hear you, I'm sure."
"All right, then," the sgreeable voice continued, "say 'Mom, trust me.'"
"Mom, trust me."
"This worked out rather better than I expected. I was prepared to wait, but your mother arrived ahead of schedule. It's easier this way, isn't it? Less suspense, less anxiety for you."
I waited.
"Now I want you to listen very carefully. I'm going to need you to get away deom your friends; do you think you can do that? Answer yes or no."
"No."
"I'm sorry to hear that. I was hoping you would be a little more creative than that. Do you think you could get away from them if your mother's life depended on it? Answer yes or no."
Somehow, there had to be a way. I remembered that we were going to the airport. Sky Harbor International Airport: crowded, confusingly laid out...
"Yes."
"That's better. I'm sure it won't be easy, but if I get the slightest hint that you have any company, well, that would be very bad for you mother," the friendly voice promised. "You must know enough about us by now to realize how quickly I would know if you tried to bring anyone along with you. And how little time I would need to deal with your mother if that was the case. Do you understand? Answer yes or no."
"Yes." My voice broke.
"Very good, Bella. Now this is what you have to do. I want you to go to your mother's house. Next to the phone there will be a number. Call it, and i'll tell you where to go from there." I already knew where I would go, and where this would end. But I would follow his instructions exactly. "Can you do that? Answer yes or no."
"Yes."
"Before noon, please, Bella. I haven't go all day," he said politely.
"Where's Phil?" I asked tersely.
"Ah, be careful now, Bella. Wait until I ask you to speak, please."
I waited.
"It's important, now, that you don't make your friends suspicious when you go back to them. Tell them that your mother called, and that you talked her out of coming home for the time being. Now repeat after me, 'Thank you, Mom.' Say it now."
"Thank you, Mom." The tears were coming. I tried to fight them back.
"Say, 'I love you, Mom, I'll see you soon.' Say it now."
"I love you, Mom." My voice was thick. "I'll see you soon," I promised.
"Goodbye, Bella. I look forward to seeing you again." He hung up.
I cant' write tommorow, because of finals, but I'll write on Friday. :)

Bella's POV

Once we got back to the cottage, Renesmee was already sleeping so Edward and I had to be quiet.
" So, what did Jacob say?" Edward whispered.
" Honestly I didn't really understan what he was talking about. He said something about a new army of a type of mystical creature we have never delt with before. They're not vampires, warewolves, shapeshifters, and not even hybrids like Renesmee and Nahuel!"
Edward looked terrified. " So what now?" he asked.

" I don't know." I told him. "I saw footprints going South, but they...

4 Months has passed again and I’m feeling really great. Edward and me went back to Darmouth to finish my last year of evening courses. It felt so good to be just a vampire now instead of a vampire and a witch.
Nobody has been chasing me or even wanted to kill me. I just hope it will stay that way because like Edward always said ‘Bella, you are a danger magnet’.
Edward never left my side, not a single time. I always laughed when were at school and I had to go the ladies room, he always went with me and waited outside the door. I never mind that he went everywhere with me, it made...

Recap Part 25

I could see my brothers Phillip, Michael and John, they were all moving hay from one building to another. I saw my sister Patricia and Carol come out of the house, wringing their hands in their aprons.

I smiled at them all, I didn't realize how much I missed them until I saw their faces. I felt myself starting to stand when I felt two strong hands come down on my shoulders and push me back down.

"Emmett, please remember. They don't know you anymore, you aren't the same person. We can...

Bella's pov

I opened my eyes again and noticed I fell asleep again. I still felt Edward’s arms around me and I took a deep breath.
“Hey sleepy head” he said with a little joy in his voice now.
“How long did I sleep this time” I asked him curious
“Just an hour” he answered back and he got up from the table.
“Where are you going” I asked him while I got up too”
“Going to...

Bella's pov

I woke up. The sun was shining very bright into my eyes and my body was sparkling. I got up and noticed I was laying in a garden but I know this garden, I know this place. This is Isle Esme, this is my vacation home. The forest is gone and everyone else too, did Edward save me.
I started walking inside of the house.
“Edward” I yelled gently “Edward, are you here”
I jumped because it wasn’t Edward I saw, it was Franco. I started running back outside to the car that was still parked at the front door. But something made me fell on...

okay, i know a few of you have been asking about it and this is (unfourtunatly) not the bit with the conversation between Edward and Bella yet.
hopefully thats the next one :)

I tried to go back to what I had been thinking about before, but I found myself caught up in the little changes of expression on her face. Again, I wanted to know what she was thinking, but I was used to that. I had always wanted to know what she was thinking.
But did I still? A thought hit me with the power of one of Emmett’s punches, making me breathe out in a sudden...

Bella's Pov

Introduction

4 years have past since I found out that I was a half witch, half vampire. That year was so busy and hectic. Me giving birth to Mason, the volturi showing up to kill him, seeing Daniel and Leann again, than those strong witches who came after me and then the worsted thing of that year were the vampire hunters.
I still having a hard time remembering what happened to those hunters, I know I killed some hunters but still my memory is blank on some points.
The best thing that happened that year was Edward and me going to Isle...

Refresher-

"Emmett, you're alright. Nothing will hurt you anymore." The doctor said as he touched my hand.

I had so many questions I wanted to ask. I tried to hold my mouth shut, but once again my mouth opened. I squeezed my eyes shut and braced myself for the screaming.

Nothing happened, I wasn't screaming. I opened my eyes quickly and looked around at everyone, the suprise obviously...

A new day started after me and Edward saw the sunrise. We were running back to our home, when Edward stopped in the middle of the forest.
“What is it” I said concerned
“Jake is heading our way, we should wait here” he said back to me
“Why is Jake looking for us” I asked him curious

Bella's pov

The days past by very slowly, the only thing I was aloud to do was, eat, sleep and rest. I just hate staying in bed all the time but Edward and the other family members kept a close eye one me, not because I was dangerous but because of the size of my stomach. I was about 3 weeks and I looked like someone who was 8 or 9 months pregnant.
When I ate I still had these outburst, so I only ate once a day. But I didn’t care about that because the baby was big already and...

Chapter 3:

I paused in a small bakery and stomped my feet in an attempt to stimulate the circulation of blood through to my frozen toes. I headed toward the counter and ordered a French baguette, which I always did before going over to Martin’s for dinner because his mother loved them so much. As I waited for the overly tanned baker to finish wrapping up my baguette, I stared out of the window. February in Seattle was one of the dreariest months of the year, especially when it was raining. As if the heavens were listening to my thoughts, a few drops clattered onto the sidewalk. Wonderful....

Bella’s POV

Was I seeing this right? I wiped my eyes to see if I was seeing things correctly. Yep. Sure was. This was the last person I would expect to come save me.
“Bella. Bella Swan?” he asked in the voice I remembered from the lat time I saw him.
“Aro? What are you doing here?” I asked.
Aro shot down the stairs in a second. He crouched in front of me.
“I came here because our dear friend Lorenzo has broken the rules,” he said.

There is this lyric from a song by Haley James Scott called DANCING WHEN THE STARS GO BLUE. Its a cover for the song by Tim McGraw WHEN THE STARS GO BLUE. The lyric is: "...Where do you go when youre lonely?..." And it got me thinking. . . .Where DO you go when your lonely? Like where does the lonelyness go? Does it just vanish into thin air? Disappear into the darkness of the past? Fly off into its cave like hole, waiting to affet some body else? Or does...

Okay, I have never done anything like this before, so please do not laugh, but constructive criticism is welcome. Thanks <3

This is my version of Bella's cliff diving experience in New Moon:

Plummeting through the air at a million miles an hour. I was soaring, cutting my path through the low hanging clouds. I was on top of the world, I was queen. I could see nothing but blue. Suddenly, the air was gone. I was covered in liquid, submerged in a pool of terror. I would have swum to the surface, I could see it, but my legs were failing me. I was going to die if I just stayed here, frozen. I started...

No one is staring at you, I promised myself. No one is staring at you. No one is
staring at you.
But, because I couldn’t lie convincingly even to myself, I had to check.
As I sat waiting for one of the three traffic lights in town to turn green, I peeked
to the right—in her minivan, Mrs. Weber had turned her whole torso in my
direction. Her eyes bored into mine, and I flinched back, wondering why she
didn’t drop her gaze or look ashamed. It was still considered rude to stare at
people, wasn’t it? Didn’t that apply to me anymore?
Then I remembered that these windows were so darkly tinted that...

Every shade of green – jade, olive, emerald – looked dull. The trees held no interest for me. I expected, as I let my vampire senses took over me, that everything around me would burst in color, would awe me as they once did. I could see every spectrum of light, every tiny grain of soil and sand under my feet, I could hear every sound –the frantic heart beats of the small animals cowering in fear, the slithering of the insects beneath the ground, the muffled cries of the birds as they flew away, the gentle whoosh of the breeze – I once found beauty in all these. Today, I found none....

It was very quiet. I didn’t want to be the first to break the silence that enveloped us. By us I meant Alice, Jasper and me. Jasper was driving somewhere. They hadn’t told me. I was particularly worried; I knew I could trust them. Also because Jasper was working his magic on me so it was hard to feel worried. So I was left with my thoughts to keep my company. It was hard being away from Edward. I had spent so much of my time with him that it felt wrong that he wasn’t by my side. My heart felt like it had been ripped into tiny pieces and scattered across America. It would take a lot of...
