Edward's POV
She flicked her hair back from her shoulder, an adorable expression playing on her face.
I wanted to feel her warm soft lips on mine again, but there were too many watching eyes. Damn children. Almost all of them were whispering, the gossip already spreading. If only they knew.
We walked into the small, badly lit front office together. The middle aged receptionist thought what a nice couple we would make. I couldn’t help but smile at her kindness.
I hung back near the door as Bella gave her excuse as to why she missed school. I couldn’t help but be captivated by the way her voice sounded, the way her hair shined as she shook her head slightly.
Today was going to be a long day.

Bella’s POV
First period was almost unbearable. Being separated for even an hour was torturous and having no other Cullen in my class made me question my sanity. Did I make the whole thing up? The only thing that stopped me believing that was the whispers in the room surrounding our little scene this morning.
When I was finally released from the classroom, I had no idea what lesson it had even been, having been caught up in my anxious thoughts.
I started walking to my next class, realising with relief that Alice had promised me that we had the same second hour. I hoped she was right...but then I remembered she was physic.
When I walked in and saw Alice sitting in the back row, it felt like I could breathe again, figuratively speaking.
She shot me a quick smile before looking away. She was a much better actor than I was. Luckily enough she was sitting right next to my usual seat, or maybe that was the point. She seemed like a person who always knew what was happening.
I took my seat quickly and tried to fix a natural smile on my face.
“Hi, I’m Bella.” I said, mock introducing myself.
Alice turned to smile at me again, looking angelic. It was then when I noticed we had the attention of most of the class.
“Hi, Bella. I’m Alice. It’s so nice to meet you.” Ali went off at usual Alice speed. “I can tell we are going to be great friends. Hey, why don’t you sit with me and my family at Lunch?”
I grinned. “Oh, Alice, I would love to! You’re...” I leant in closer, theatrically lowering my voice but making sure everyone could still hear. “You’re Edward’s sister right?”
Alice giggled slightly. “Yeah, he is. Why, do you like him or something? That would be so cool! He doesn’t really go out much.” Alice winked too quickly for human eyes.
I smiled quickly before letting my face slip into a confused expression. “Really? That seems surprising.”
“Oh, he’s very old fashioned.” Alice said giggling again.
“He talked to me before school. He seemed sweet.”
“Awww! So do you like him?” Alice pressed, sounding exactly like the queen of gossip.
I bit my lip, acting shy. I waited a couple more seconds before letting my hair fall over my shoulder to hide my face and nodding. For the first time in my existence I wished I could blush just to make it more believable.
We were interrupted then by the arrival of the teacher, but it was obvious that the attention of the class was still on this latest piece of gossip.
I leaned back in my chair with a quiet sigh. Not long till lunch now.
Edward’s POV
First class was terrible. The only thing that kept me sane was my ability to follow Bella in other people’s thoughts. It wasn’t as good as having her in my arms, but it was a start.
Second hour was marginally better than first. Alice was in Bella’s grade and she was a much more reliable source to listen to. She noticed the small things I longed for, the things I missed.
Another plus about second was that Jasper was with me. His calming influence made it so much more bearable. It also made it possible for a little acting.
“Hey, man.” Jasper said as he slid into his seat next to me.
I just nodded in return.
“So...I hear you found yourself a girl?” well, re-found anyway, his thoughts countered.
I grinned. “You heard?”
He sniggered. “Emmett wouldn’t shut up about it first hour.” We almost got kicked out of class because he wouldn’t shut up.
I tried to look appropriately abashed. “Well yeah. I talked to her this morning. I think Alice is asking her to sit with us at lunch.”
“Cool, I’ll get to meet her. It sounds like you’re really into her. It’s Bella, right?” Jasper said, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah, it is. Hey, man...” I leaned in closer, lowering my voice. The girl in front of us, Lauren I think her name was, turned her head so she could hear us better. Perfect. “I think I’ll ask her out at the end of lunch today. Do you think it’s too soon?”
Emmett’s going to love that, he though before answering my question vocally. “I think you should go for it. I mean, if you really like her, why not?”
His thoughts abruptly changed direction, moving onto thoughts of Alice that I would rather not see.
The teacher chose that moment to enter the room, quieting everyone.
I tried to tune out Jasper and went back to watching Bella through the minds of others.

Hey, I'm typing away at home while my dad takes Mom on an extensive trip to France! Jacob could hardly contain his excitement! Seriously, He's burst into a dog three times- oh, not again Jake! Four times. Anyways, whenever my parents are out, my dad posts up a list of rules. Here's what he wrote.
Renesmee,
your mom and I are going to France. Do not take advantage of this with Jacob. Tell Alice where you're going, and DON'T go to La Push. Watch for bears, and don't go anywhere near the hunting zone. No friends over later than 10:00PM unless it's Jacob(even then don't try anything funny.). Jacob is not allowed on your bed(and I don't care if he's in dog form.). Alice will come over to check in on you regularly, but call her if you need help.

Ugh. As if Jake and I would do anything stupid. I think Jake was planning on that, though. Well, I hear Jake break something upstairs. I'm gonna see what he's up to. Later!

That took me by surprise. As I took my seat next Bella, she whispered, too low for the surrounding humans to hear, that she was proud of me.
When it was over, I was convinced myself and Bella had had a less melodramatic ceremony than this. Then again, perhaps it had been even more so.
Alice had gone over-the-top with decorations, not that Renesmee minded. She was unlike Bella in that way. When it was my turn to dance with her, she whispered, "You'll still be my dad."
Again with the dramatics.
When it was Bella's turn, she let me see her thoughts. A special gift. I enjoyed hearing her thoughts.
"This bothers you more than you're letting on, Edward. Relax, let it go. She'll be fine," Bella said.
"You know me so well," I grinned at her before Emmett claimed her and I was forced to dance with Rosalie.
