Lets get caught up!:

“Why do you have to create so many problems?” She hissed back, finally turning her head to face me. He eyes were dark.

“Rose.” Emmett warned quietly.

“No. Edward’s not here. Don’t tell me what to do.” She hissed at Emmett and then stared back out the window.

I suddenly felt like this was a mistake. Rose could hate me. I really didn’t mind.

“Did you know that everyone is all packed and ready to go?” Rose said from the corner. “And then you happened.” Emmett just sat there shaking his head

“Ignore her. She’s just upset about missing some big sale at some designer store up north.” He said laughing. I could almost hear Rose grinding her teeth. I glanced back to the clock wondering when Edward would be back.

I've decided that I will finally name this story, in my next update...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I sat in the chair next to Alice, my fingers fidgeting through my hair as I rested my chin on the hard cold metal surface listening to everyone rummaging around downstairs, getting ready to depart.

Edward had it out for Rosalie the minute he came home, rushing to my side to make sure I was still in one piece. It took a lot of convincing that I was fine and the only thing she had hurt were my feelings, which didn’t make him feel any better. I sat there listening to them argue back and forth. The whole conversation was hard to listen to. To hear how I was causing problems, which Edward told her that she was the only one who had a problem with it. I never had a sister, but I always thought of Alice as one, the same way Rosalie and Alice were sisters. I could understand where Rosalie was coming from, but my intentions were sincere. I wanted Alice to be all better too. It was when Rosalie said she wasn’t coming if I was ‘tagging alone’ that really hurt. The way she spit the words out, pointing her finger sharply in my direction. I felt my composure weakening and made my way past Edward, who stopped me, wrapping his arms around me and whispered something, I nodded absentmindedly and continued out of the room and down the hall to Alice.

I glanced out the window, looking for the sun that I knew was hiding behind the dark clouds. I let out the air that I was holding in for an uncertain amount of time, running my finger along Alice’s’ arm, barely noticing Carlisle come into the room saying something about Charlie.

“Mmhmm.” I mumbled barely listening.

Alice. My thoughts were with Alice. I glanced over at her face, my eyes burning with tears, ready to spill. I turned my head over, resting my flushed cheek against the cool surface to find Carlisle sorting papers into a briefcase while talking on the phone. I pushed my thoughts away in time to hear him say something about an infection, and taking me to Seattle to see a specialist. My cover story.

“She may not be her usual self, but that doesn’t mean she’s out of service.”

I glanced over at the door to see Edward slowly entering the room. He nodded at Carlisle in a way to signal him out of the room. Carlisle hung up the phone, grabbed his briefcase and headed for the door, throwing one last hopeful glance my way before Edward closed the door behind him.

“Bella.” His smooth voice swept over me, bringing comfort back into my heart as he gently picked me up off the chair, taking over it himself and pulled me against his chest. I finally let go of the tense buildup, tears streaming down my cheeks as I tried to catch my breath, burying my face deeper into his chest. His comforting hands making their way up and down my back.

“I won’t allow it.” He said. “She wouldn’t allow it.” He mumbled into my hair, talking about Alice. “I can still get some premonitions out of her. With Victoria around I’m not letting you out of my sight.”

I laid against his chest, listening to my heart beat slowing down as I took in another deep breath of his scent. “I can’t come with you.” I said softly but quickly, almost afraid to hurt Alice’s feelings. “I love you, I do, but I’m just going to slow things down, cause problems. Rosalie should be there, and I’m not going to force her to adjust to me.” I steadied my breathing again before continuing. “I just can’t.”

We sat in silence, his hands continued to move along my back. “I’ll think about it.” He finally whispered. “Let me talk to Carlisle first.” I nodded slowly, glancing back up to Alice, wondering what was going on inside her head. Had the future changed? Would everyone be safe now? Including myself? Edward shifted me off his lap, and sat me back in the chair, kissing the top of my head before leaving.

I pulled myself off the chair and walked over to the window. Jasper and Esme were traveling back and forth between the house and the garage with several bags, packing the cars. I glanced down at the bottom corner to barely see Rosalie leaning against the railing with her arms crossed, staring off into the woods and Emmett beside her, his lips moving and his face serious. She snapped her head up, eyes meeting mine as I stepped backwards quickly, almost knocking over a side table.

Edward wrapped his arms from behind, reaching out to steady the table for me. I turned around in his arms. His face, uneasy to read. “What did Carlisle say?” I asked, chewing on my bottom lip.

“It’s been decided.” He said. “You’re going to stay in Alaska, with some family friends. The Denali’s. Another coven.”

I didn’t exactly know what to say. I hadn’t considered this option.

“I wasn’t going to leave you alone.” He said, sensing my confusion. “I won’t leave you until I know you’re safe. Trust me.” He said, pulling me close as he wrapped his arms tightly around me.

I sat at the table, pushing Cheerios around the bowl staring out the window. I was being forced to eat something before we went anywhere. I watched as Carlisle took some things for Alice from the house, taking them into the garage. Esme was puttering around the kitchen, pretending to clean as she wiped down the counter for the 6th time.

“Are you alright?” I asked, my voice clearly not reaching her. “You’re going to drive through the marble any second.” I said louder.

“What’s that?” She asked. She glanced up from the counter, hair falling in front of her eyes.

“I asked if you were alright.” I said before taking a small bite of cereal.

“Oh, yes dear. Why? Are you alright?” Her voice was thick with worry as she quickly tossed the sponge into the sink and took the chair across from me.

I swallowed quickly. “I’m fine.” I said, glancing back out the window to see Edward watching us. “I’ll be fine.” I said smiling, trying to convince the both of us as I turned back to face Esme.

“Of course you are.” She said, forcing a smile back. I noticed the way her smile tightened at the right corner, perhaps a nervous habit. I eyed her closely as I brought another spoonful of Cheerios to my mouth.

From the corner of my eyes I caught a glimpse of Jasper walk past the kitchen with Alice in his arms. I quickly turned around in my chair, pushing the curtain to the side, watching as Jasper carefully placed Alice in the car. I quickly ate the rest of my cereal and before I could push my chair out Esme reached for the bowl and headed for the sink. I pushed my chair in and headed for the door, hesitating to watch Esme with that far off look in her eye as she ran the bowl under hot water.

“Esme.” I whispered, catching her attention as she brought her eyes to mine.

“We’re all going to be fine.” I assured, running my finger along the door frame.

“I know.” She smiled back and turned off the water.

I turned on my heels, quickly heading for the door. I sat on the front step putting my shoes on, watching as Edward placed several suitcases into the trunk of his car. Esme came out behind me, handing me my coat.

“Better get a move on. It’s a long drive.” She said as she made her way to Carlisle’s side.
I slowly stood up, dusting the seat of my jeans and slipped into my coat. Jasper climbed into the back seat, wrapping his arm around Alice. Heading for the car I noticed that Rosalie and Emmett were nowhere to be found.

“Where are Emmett and Rosalie?” I asked, reaching for the seatbelt and bringing it across me, securing myself in.

“They decided to meet up with us after we make sure you’re safe.” He said, as he started the car and made his way down the driveway. I glanced in the side view mirror to see Carlisle and Esme following behind us.

“Carlisle needs to be where Alice is, and Alice needs to be where I am.” He said, answering my unspoken question.

“and I need to be where Alice is.” Jasper said softly from the backseat.
