Twilight Series Question

Do you believe in the existance of Vampires?

I did a little research and blood-drinkers exist in almost every culture's history.
But I want to know how many of you actually believe that there are real vampires out there?
They are pretty creatures to read about but how many of you think they are just fictional?

I am from Romania, the place where all the vampire stories come from and I don't agree with the fact that vampires and other creatures have been "created" in common knowledge in order to scare people or make them follow a religious cult. In my country there are too many details, too many stories from old people and too many castles and points in history that may change your mind about vampires forever. Legends aren't just legends when proof is just generations away from us. Somehow, Stephenie Meyer in her (in my opinion,poor) research about Romania said in the book that there were 2 vampires in Romania and she totally screwed up their names. It is faitly known in Romania that one particular leader in the XVth century that had a taste for torturing people and drinking their blood (orally, if the biting part seems a bit magic-like). Anyway, you should visit the Bran Castle and then give a second thought. There is something too weird about the atmosphere to say it's just self inflicted. In a country of mystery, it's very hard to ignore this stuff.

in all honesty i dont believe in vampires, im sure there are people in the world who like to drink blood, but straight up vampires no...sorry

I wish it were true but I just do not believe cos there is no fisical ev idence to back up their existance !! :(

Maybe the reason why they feature in so many cultures and histories is because people who were very religious and/or uneducated liked to blame things they did not understand on "evil" creatures. For example, it was believed that people with epilepsy were inflicted with eveil demons. Maybe they linked horrific murders or acts of torture on vampire like creatures so they had someone to blame. Im not sure.

Its not necessary that vampires have the features (beauty, restraint, strenght) as Stephanie mentioned!

No one could stop him, he just kept drinking... drinking... Then he passed out. They rushed him to the ER. He's fine know, he still won't stop, though. Its sick, he almost did it again, except I knocked him out with my fist. It happened in eOklahoma city, Oklahoma.

well.. 2 say the thruth I don't think that vamps are real, but i believe that there was something close to vamps(some kind of blooddrinker)that lived in Europe a long time ago and took alot of people's lives, but I don't think that it bit people and changed them as the fictional vamps.

I do. I really do. I don't know how they exist and where but I believe that they do. I believe in many mistical creatures, vampires being one of them. It is a little wierd because I certainly do not believe in god but I believe in these so called 'bad' creatures - ghosts, vampires, witches, wizards etc. I doubt that they are like from movies but I do believe that there are people with special powers, who don't age or have strange reaction to full moon.

When people think of them, they imagine. The idea of vampires keep the imagination working for most people.

I think it would be extremely cool if vamps did exist, but in all fairness, you really need to think about it all logically. People who come back to life after they die and survive on blood? When the body dies the organs pack up and start to rot. For anyone - or anything - to survive, their organs need to be working properly. I'm sure that there are people out there who do drink human blood, but I don't think it's to keep them alive.

Don't get me wrong, I would love it if vampires existed but I must admit it's highly unlikely :(
