Twilight Series Question

How could Alice see a vision of the battle?

How could she see it? There were so many wolves involved, that should have blinded her ability, shouldn't it? Also, her visions change depending on decisions. There were decisions involved in the battle which couldn't possibly have been premade, since they were in reaction to things which hadn't happened yet - e.g. Benjamin seeing the fighting going badly and making a chasm.
