I would have to say that above all the rest, Edward Cullen comes to mind. He has ALWAYS stayed true to his Beliefs, even after being turned a Vampire. He did NOT take advantage of Bella, as he could have. He was a TRUE Gentleman throughout the story. He even tries to SAVE BELLA'S SOUL, numerous times, by telling her NO! That being changed, in other words, is NOT as glamorous as losing Your Soul.
Unfortunately, because Bella did NOT believe in Heaven Nor Hell, she didn't believe in the "Soul" as STRONG as she SHOULD HAVE, NOR as STRONG, even as Edward KNEW the TRUTH, and tried to convince her.
Bella is probably the Least Character that I like, OR Respect. She's a "know-it-all" 18 year old, and until you've reached the age of 25 years old, will this statement make sense to you. Bella is a fly by night, shoot from the hip, athiest, with a mouth to match. She needed and deserved MORE spankings!
She is ONLY caring to Edward's Feelings, but she EVEN steps on his at times too, IF her stand point is compromised. She is all INTO "Bella!" Good-for-"BELLA!"
Edward deserved BETTER than she! AND IF I were to write more books after Breaking Dawn, I would write that down the road, Edward DOES meet his Soulmate, and is torn between having turned Bella, to the Lady He Meets and Knows IS his True Soulmate. And maybe have Bella, find her true soulmate in a Human Being. Only to suffer the anguish that she is a Vampire.
NOW, THAT would be an Interesting twist and story. At least to me!
But, for now, I stick my neck out (no pun intended) for Edward The Gentleman of Gentlemen....
Hugs & Fangbites,
Juliet
