This Is My Life Chapter Twelve
I held onto the rocks tightly. I was scared to let go. I hoped if I stayed there frozen that the wolf would just disappear. The wolf stared at me, strict in the eyes.
"Go away!" I demanded trying not sound scared.
The wolf sounded like it had laughed. Why would it have cut my rope? Surely my roped did not break. But then I saw the tree all splintered up. The wolf slowly started coming over to. I was started to flip out. I wanted to jump off the side of this cliff. Surely there was not anything harmful in the water at this moment. I remembered that the wolf would have caught me; because my harness was attached to the rope.
"Stop!" I said as my voice went high.
The wolf stopped for a minute looked at me as he tilted his head funny. But that did not last long the wolf walked over to me and practically grabbed my shirt with his lips. Like he was wanting to help. So I easily let him help me. The wolf stood there just looking at me.
"It is not like I can read your mind!" I stated as I realized I was talking to a dumb animal.
The wolf came over and pulled at me harness. What was this wolf wanting?
I took my harness off and left it at my feet. The wolf came over, sniffed my hand, and rubbed the top of its head on my head. So this animal was being nice. This was suppose to be a vicious animal and yet it wants me to pet it. This wolf had to be somebody's pet.
Since I knew that the wolf was not going to hurt me. I gathered my climbing gear up and left. Only to be followed by this wolf.
"Stay." I said.
But it continued to follow me as I walked to my house.
I got to the edge of the woods and it stopped.
"Come mere." I said softly.
I was surprised that the wolf actually came.
"Goodnight." I said as I scratched his head.
I quietly crept to my window and eased the window up. I sat my gear inside first and then climbed in. I saw someone sitting at my desk.
"Haley, you scared me to death." Tristan said as I laughed. "I thought you had run off."
"That is really funny." I stated. "But you will never guess what I met out climbing."
"A hobo?" He asked as I gave him a puzzled look.
"No, a wolf. A wild wolf!" I chirped.
"No, you are kidding." He said surprised. "There is no way you could have just met one wolf all alone. I mean they travel in packs and it should have mauled you to death."
"Yeah I thought the same thing at first." I said. "But then he showed me that he was really nice. It was so weird."
"Very, get to sleep. We have school tomorrow. And eat the food at school or pack a lunch." Tristan demanded.
"Yes sir." I said sarcastically.
"Hey Haley wake up." Dad said.
"Hey Dad." I yawned. "Where is Tristan?"
"He is, sick." Dad said. "You are going to be late for school if you do not hurry up."
"Okay. Can you pack me something for lunch today?" I asked.
"Pops it is." He muttered.
"Thanks daddy." I said.
I quickly got ready and ran for the bus just as he was about to pull off. I looked back as I got on and saw that Nick's bike was still in his from yard.
If Nick had not left for school than I doubt he was coming in at all today.
I sat at the lunch room table eating my pops and drinking whatever the school gave me. It was really boring at school. I knew absolutely no one except for Nick and Tristan.
School was boring. I mean are Nick got on my nerves but at least I had some sort of entertainment! I got off the bus and went inside. I went by the kitchen and grabbed my box of pop. Sadly they had been all eaten. Surely Tristan did not finish off my box of cereal. I passed by Tristan's room and notice that he was not sick at all. He had a bunch of guys in his room. How odd, I had never even seen any of these. Except for Nick, what was Nick doing here? Who cares, I have a ton of school to do.
I sat down in my room and stared at my climbing gear. Laughing at last night's adventure.
"Where did you go last night?" Nick asked as I was caught.
