Chapter 4
Not a good sign at all
Those last few words from the police officer was not a good really good thing to leave with, especially while walking through a deserted and dark parking lot, I felt like something would pop out. Ms. Arthur was clearly unhappy with the turn of conversation as seeing she made us leave early right when we were getting to the good part of the boring interrogation. I’m not joking, I think that lady has it out for us, just trying to ruin everything we try to do. Luckily Ms. Arthur had brought her own car, which was in it’s same exact place, looking deadlier than the dark of the night itself. Waving quickly Ms. Arthur scurried to her car and we got into ours, which we all used one car, squishing in.
“Well,” Chauncey flashed us a smile. “not completely worthless.”
“Just drive,” Sasha said. “I’m so tired and that stupid woman had to ruin everything, and we spent extra time there learning useless information, or ones we everyone already knew.”
“At least we got something,” Fern said. “But were not letting her get in our way again, this documentary is going to be epic, bodacious, the movie of the year, not some teacher’s pet video of only the teacher’s stuff.”
Lila whistled. “Whoop dee freaking doo! The nerd’s fighting back!”
“Shut up,” Fern snapped.
Rt rolled his eyes. “Don’t know why your complaining, I’d like to be labeled as a nerd, school would be so much easier.”
Jordan groaned. “Drive the car! Let’s get out of here!”
None of us could argue with that one, in fact, we couldn’t agree more.
“Do you really think that killer still lives here?” Ashlynn asked me as she sat by me for class.
“What?” I ask, raising my head.
“The masked murderer,” she whispered. “Do you really think he’s still here?”
I shrugged. “There could be a possibility, maybe he’s retired.”
“Maybe,” Ashlynn whispered. “It’s just a little scary thought though, he could be anyone or she, or she, it could totally be a she.”
I nod. “Yeah, that just makes it more creepier.”
Ashlynn laughed quietly. “I know, right? It’s just… what that police man said…about being the next victims…scary.”
I nod. “Super.”
Our teacher struts in, only it’s not our French teacher, but a substitute, she was pretty I’ll admit, but I do like Mr. Jackson, an awesome teacher, and was a bit worried. He never missed a day, never, even when he was sick. So I patiently waited after she gave out the instructions to raise my hand, she walked over quickly. “Yes, young man?”
“With all due respect, where’s Mr. Jackson?” I ask, politely. The substitute shrugs.
“The principal called me, said he got a phone call that your teacher wasn’t coming, and so here I am, family crisis maybe.”
“Yeah, um…well, thank you.” I say. The substitute smiles charmingly, and I have to hold in my look of awe, but the rest of the guys just stared at her with pure adoration, she walked off to help the other table. “Family crisis?” Ashlynn questions after she’s gone. “Doubt it, Mr. J told me he didn’t have much family, the only family was his sister and her children, but there all the way in Wisconsin.”
I shrugged, “maybe something happened.”
Ashlynn shook her head. “I don’t know, I’m just getting a bad feeling from this.”
“Well don’t,” I say. “We got a new hot sub-”
She gives me a look.
“And,” I add. “Nothing to worry about.” If only that were true, but sadly I’ll soon learn it’s not.

I'm cheerful on the outside yes, but under this huge hyperfilled, cheerful girl is a fragile antique.
On the outside some see me as normal or energetic maybe the one apple with a hole in the barrel.
I'll plaster a smile every now and then to show the me-the fake me- to disguise the actual one pulling the strings.
As I stand before the mirror starring at myself I see that figure looming behind me his hand on my shoulder.
And at that moment my mask breaks and I'm stunned at my actual self.
I'm filled with depression, sadness, anger and haterid.
Never did I want to ever see the true me.
The mirror breaks and the man next to me whispers "Your mine." I look down in defeat.
Dropping to the ground-on my knees-I begin to cry.
He got the better of me and now I am no more.
"I'm a monster." I say to myself through a sob.

I am a broken-winged eagle
Who cannot fly
Because I have set no goal for myself.
Other people laugh and scoff at me,
And I know that I must quickly find something
To hope for.
Everyday I think,
"What's the use? Nothing is my talent. Give up."
People think I am nothing but stupid,
But I can see that light within myself.
I have not yet soared.
I have not yet found my dream.
One day, I find something unique to dream for.
Writing.
Something that can take me to faraway places
Anywhere, beyond this universe.
And now I can soar.
Far, far, faraway
Where no one can catch me.
Where no one can disturb me.
Where I can be free.
Where I will no longer be
A broken-winged eagle.
Who cannot fly
Because I have set no goal for myself.
Other people laugh and scoff at me,
And I know that I must quickly find something

Let us hold hands in joy
Let us sit on the warm white sand
And let us watch the sun set tonight
We're gonna be a pair
We're gonna fly away
And let nobody go into our minds
Toni-i-ight
We're gonna slowly stand up
Listen to the waves
Roar and wash into the sand
And I'm gonna lean on you
Oh where were the times?
Where were the moments?
It seems like last year
When I kissed you and locked eyes
The sun's settin
But we're never gonna leave each other
Not if we stay together
Like ever...like forever
Watch the sun set
Watch the waves roll into each other
Oh my dear,
We're gonna never be separated
Sun sets,
Waves roll,
We're gonna sleep...
Side by side.
