Chapter 12
The lovely fun of kickball
“School, school, school,” I shake my head. “I blame the smart people.”
Beth looks at me. “Pammy, were in gym, technically not school.”
“But still in it,” I say.
Beth rolls her eyes as our gym coach leads us outside, to the very hot air, oh my goodness someone call the rain! I then feel my spirits lift up when I learn were playing kickball! Yay! I usually hit someone in the face with my powerful temper kick! I know, I’m working on those issues.
“Okay, so were going to divide the class into two, team leaders?”
Our lovely coach was actually really awesome, he was a guy, and he was in his thirties. I liked him, so I try to like gym more better, which is why I participate in the shouting for team leaders.
“Alright! Alright! Cal and Grey, come up!”
Cal and Grey, sharing a glaring contest go up to the coach, our coach then picks up the team. I think you know what’s next.
“What?!” I ask. “Coach Gary! Are you sure?”
The coach gave me a look. “Listen Anger Issues, I’m sorry, but I do it by the even numbers, your friend got an odd therefore she’s on the other team.”
“But coach! That’s Cal’s team! And Grey hates Cal! Your going to start up a fight because they both like Beth, please don’t!”
The coach sighed. “High school, how I don’t miss thee, it’s about time too, I’m still shocked that there hasn’t been any fights yet, a new record. Let your anger out in kickball.”
I nod. “Yes sir!”
Beth sighed. “No?” I nodded and she groaned. “Great, well at least I have Honey, Talia, and Scotty. Ugh, I don’t want to be on his team.”
I shrug. “The person that gets smashed in the face from my kick is dedicated to you.”
Beth laughs. “Whatever, clever, let’s play Rosebud.”
We go to our opposite positions, my team is ironically kicking, which is good because I want to kick something, or maybe hit, but whatever.
“All right,” Grey says, a deadly look in his eye. “I’m going first, Pam second, because we’ve got the death kick. Who’s next?”
Most of the girl’s inched away, but some wanting to impress him volunteered, Sage and surprisingly Ali volunteered too. Grey went up to the kicking place, and I watched as he kicked a kick so great, that he almost made it to the last base and earned us a point.
“Uh oh! Pammy’s next! Spread out guys, this girl can kick! She’s got her face on!”
I grinned at my fellow rivals, except my gal’s. This one girl was rudely sneering at me, these two others were laughing from something, and the rest, well I didn’t care. Prepare for take off. I watched the ball come at me with steady focus, I can hear the other teammates yelling, trying to distract me. It felt like everything was going in slow motion as I ran and kicked the ball hard and it flew into the air as if I hit it with a baseball bat, and I went running.
I couldn’t help but feel happy when I noticed we got two points from my awesome kick, and Grey was smiling a bit nodding. “Nice kick, Pam, nice one.”
Ali nodded. “Yeah, socked that girl right in her face, the one sneering at you.”
Sage grinned. “It’s just proof, don’t mess with Pam, or meet her lovely anger.”
“Amen!” I yelled, jumping up and down.
“You were the only good person on that team, alongside Scotty, no offense to the other gal’s I hope.” I looked at the two.
Talia shrugged. “Cal’s a meanie.”
Honey nodded. “Those guys were hot.”
Scotty laughed. “That girl’s face when the ball socked her.”
Beth sighed. “Probably one of my worst kicks so far.”
Sage gaped at her. “Worst kicks! Gal please, that ball went flying more than Pam’s-”
“Which is only because it hit that girl.” Beth said.
“Yeah,” I said laughing. “Score!”
Scotty rolled her eyes. “Sometimes this school can be so cliché, then I met you guys.”
“Woo hoo! Dare to be different!” Ali yelled, and the rest of us repeated.
“Yeah,” I nod. “It’s good to be a gal.”

Don't even care now if I slipped right down
Just wanna get back up
Oh where are the times we stood up straight
Never let something shove us down?
Oh when did we get back up
When something tripped us over?
It seems like yesterday when we did that
But we're so obnoxious now it's crazy
Just pull yourself together
Cuz I don't even care if I fell
Well yesterday was the worst day of my life
Just tripping on the hard cold cement
But yesterday seems like eternity now
Cuz I'm not looking back now
Disappointments are for yesterday
Looking back on them is naive
Why do you wanna be a fool
Looking back on the streets of disappointment?
So get back up and breathe
In the warm city air
Disappointments are for yesterday
So pull yourself up.
This is the people who played my roles for me. This is my thanks for everyone tuning into Daredevil's Vs. Murderer's and I hope you tune into remember me, which I'm still working on. Writer's block is such an ugly disease, but I'm getting it done. P.S I didn't have a visual picture fro some characters, please comment what you think. I've seen people on Wattpad do this, and I wanted to try, but I do not have a wattpad account, I just visit and read some of their stories, interesting, and good, you guys should visit.
Hope you enjoy! :)
