********************MAISY’S POV********************
As I’m running, I’m trying to remember what Chef looks like. Oh yeah! The big dude who wears a chef’s hat. DUH. I see other campers running through the forest, and I hear a blast of a gun; a paintball gun. Chef found somebody. I stop quickly to look around and I see that DJ, the African American I was talking to, has a blue paint mark on his shirt, and I see Chef riding a go-kart, driving by him.

So I run the opposite direction.

Chef must have spotted me turning to run because now he’s after me, laughing.

"This is all too easy,” I hear him say.

Not for long, as I see a sharp rock ahead. I race to the rock, grab it, and throw it at him; the rock cleanly hits the gun out of his hand. He growls and stops to get it as I run away.

I look back once to see if he is catching up to me but he isn’t, but before I can look forward again, I run right into somebody. I know it’s somebody because he’s moaning on the ground now, and I’m on the ground too, and then looking over at him. It’s the guy who was smiling at me earlier. The cute one. He’s only a little taller than me, and he has brown hair, blue eyes, and a gap-toothed smile.

“Oh my word,” I gasp, “I’m so sorry!”

He looks over at me and gasps, too, “No it’s my fault!” I should of payed attention!”

“Not it’s mine-“

“Are you hur-“

“Are you okay?”

We notice we’re talking at the same time and we stop and he laughs softly as I blush.

“I’m Cody.”

“I’m Maisy,” I fight my blush away.

“So, Chef hasn’t gotten you yet?” He says as we get up.

“Close, but no cigar. You?”

“Nope. Shh!” We hear a noise, a go-kart noise.

Cody points to a bush and I nod. We quickly run to the bush and crawl inside. I feel Cody’s hot breath against my back and I try not to get Goosebumps as I’m crouched in front of him in the bush. We hear Chef’s whistling as he drives by. Cody must know that I’m nervous, because now his hand is on my shoulder as we peak through the leaves to see Chef disappear down the path.

“Phew,” We both say, and then we look at his hand on my shoulder.

“Sorry,” He blushes, taking his hand off and crawls out of the bush, offering his hand to me to help me get out.

“No problem,” I blush again, taking his hand and I get out. His hand is so warm, I like it. Wait, I just met the guy. Come on, Maisy, get in the game.
We let go of each other’s hand and we begin walking down the path in the opposite direction.

“So, Maisy, huh?” He looks at me, “Cool name. And the accent, not quite Canadian, huh?”

My face turns red, “Thanks. And not full Canadian, my mom’s from Tennessee so she has the same accent. It’s stupid, I know.”

“Actually, I find it pretty, you know, cute.”

“Really?” I look over at him, smiling.

He nods.

*CONFESSION CAM*
Maisy: Wow, the Total Drama Confessional! So I’ve made a few friends so far. I’ve also met a pretty cute guy. Okay so I said cute, doesn’t mean I’m into him. I’m just here to win.

DJ: Ouch that paintball hurt.

Cody: So Maisy’s a total babe. Not to mention really nice. She’s not like the other girls at my high school. She hasn’t even spit on me yet!
